Of course I hope it is a gag, I can't really think of someone pre-purchasing with such dates.

I think it's also some parody of today's bad habit, IMHO, of pre-purchasing things, it's like you are financing the development of the product; everyone who does pre-purchasing should be listed in the credits list at least alongside the publisher and the developer.

@Snailman, but the pre-purchase came with the season ticket, which would include the laser weapons and opponent plane hacking DLCs. It might be a bargain (or extremely expensive for no good reason).

In a move to save money, you can download and start using it now long before any development is finished. This concurrent testing and production will allow everyone to enjoy it long before it can be enjoyed.
