The Normandy landings (a.k.a D-Day on June 6, 1944), The largest seaborne invasion in history, the operation began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front.

 

A big salute to all those who participated in this assault! Your sacrifice & efforts will never be forgotten!
