Hi

soviet aircraft used their chutes on almost every landing, tk does not provide this feature. as long as there is no decent way to provide a default MiG or Sukhoi with a working chute - as did some folks with TMF-aircraft (thanks Russo for your MiG-29 !!!;-) - I played with eyecandy, using a YAP-model. as this is restricted by copyright: can anybody produce a freeware model for a chute ? maybe a cruciform one ? with it's texture in tga-format for more versatility ?

a teaser:

hi

the idea was: as long as we do not have working chutes - and we will never get them for default-aircraft - , a simple lod-file of a chute will / must do as eye-candy. this model/lod-file should be freely available to everyone.

The YAP method work perfectly in SF2, in all types of planes, both BLUE and RED, cause I tried it with help (You know who you are), the dragchute is deployed only at pilot's command so is not visible while flying, is a nice touch, it looks cool, and it will be even cooler If we can get a soviet style cruciform sragchute for those modern fighters, the Su-25, the Su-27, Su-24...

The cruciform dragchutes are not invented in the USSR. They are east german know how, invented by a small company, that still today exist and makes the best military parachutes worldwide. The NVA Fallschirmjäger and today the Fallschirmjäger and Special Forces of the Budneswehr swearing of their parachutes.

Good to know, is noce to learn aviation related things, but everyone understood I was talking about the dragchute seen in modern Russian fighters and bombers.
