+1977Frenchie Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Hi All, After having done a few skin job on RCAF planes (along with creating ''new'' planes in the process) I went a mission the Canadian Hercules in the game. I started from taking the fabulous C-130 from Dels superpack and extracted the E, H and J-30 versions as they are the one's used by the RCAF. as Dels already made the CC-130H i only had to do the lines and rivets and make a ''clean'' skin (this is a personal liking here). So here is what i did so far : CC-130E - Created the 3 skins type used (White/Grey - Camo - Overall Grey). - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. CC-130H : - Passing over the lines and rivets. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the H model. - PLANE COMPLETED CC-130J-30 : - NO WORK ON SKIN DONE YET. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. As i will work all weekend, so further work will be done so far but thing are going pretty well. So might release a small Canadian C-130 pack in the next days/weeks. Here is a preview taken from Mue's Tool Box of the 3 CC-130E's schemes : THESE ARE WIP, EXCEPT THE OVERALL GREY 8 Quote
EsPeKTr0 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 what a beautiful herc!!!! Good work m8. Keep it up this bird looks awsome. :clapping: Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 5, 2017 Author Posted August 5, 2017 Could not resist to work a little more on these :) In-game screenies of the 2 WIP early schemes 2 Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 looks good! a question, is that white over grey (or corrogard) or white over natural metal? Quote
yakarov79 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 looks goood, but personaly i would increase transparency on panel lines. Blend it with skin more specialy on that white over grey.. Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 looks good! a question, is that white over grey (or corrogard) or white over natural metal? The original hercs where painted white over natural metal. Later they were white over grey looks goood, but personaly i would increase transparency on panel lines. Blend it with skin more specialy on that white over grey.. Transparency will be more important on finished model like the all grey one. Will also correct the camo scheme as the one used by the RCAF was really like the one on my wip. 1 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Okay folks, here is the project so far : All decals done for E, H and J-30 models. E model : Layers done for both early schemes and camo one. Lines are far more transparent now. Changes the grey for a lighter one on the early schemes. On the Camo one, extracted real color codes and came to a more realistic look. Grey sheme is complete (as i came from the H model). H model : complete J-30 model : Decals done, have to work on the skin itself now. Still a little things to correct on the E models, but here are Mue's view of them : 6 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 Current state of this skinning project :) E model : complete H model : complete J-30 model : Decals done, Skinning started (Wings and Tail are already done). Still have some decal placement to do along with the skinning of the Nose and Fuselage but things are going pretty fast on the J model :) Will post some scrennies of the J model tomorrow night! 1 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Almost done with the J model 4 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 As of tonight, all 3 models are done along with decals. Just a few minor checks and they will be ready to go. I added a third early skin on the E model. Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 As for now, pack is complete but i have only a minor bug that i am trying to solve for the last 2 days... I made a new squadron in the Squadronlist.ini and new squadron is showings correctly for the E and H model, but no squadron for the J one ??? I checked everything and it should show ok, but it's not the case... Any clue anyone? Quote
Wrench Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 check numerical sequence?? (that's all I can think off!) Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 check numerical sequence?? (that's all I can think off!) This is why i scrath my head. Everything is fine on this side as it works on the E and H models but nothing shows on the J one... I checked again and again and i applied the same thing on the J model like the other 2 models... Well, will dig more today :) Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 would you mind showing the entries? its can often be a very simple but subtle error that ones own eyes miss but others catch Quote

+daddyairplanes Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 are there any level 1 entries (unit) in that skins decal ini? i remember hgbn doing something with a blank decal and entry to call up nations, but its been awhile. was to fix a very similar problem tho and i suspect if a level isnt at least called in the ini, it wont show in the drop down iirc hgbns fix was a decal ini entry and tiny blank tga to address issues when folks put teh national markings directly on teh skin and therefore had no level 0 decals for refresher decal level 0 nations (or needed to show all the time) , level 1 units(specific to individual unit), level 2 serial numbers (or specific to inidvidual planes like nose art), level 3 kill marking. Wrench Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 um, that was me with the "fake insignia". Also did the one for "fake squadron" (SqTail.tga) Quote

Never tought about that :) Will make a check on this tonight and see if the problem is there. I also find on the original J-30 model made by Dels that there is only 2 scheme for it (both for the 307th RAAF squadron) but when going on the planning map you can select 5 squadrons, but the 307 is not there... Anyway, will try the decal level thing and see how it goes :) Next project is the CH-124 Sea King (per Florian SH-3D version). Already did the panel lines, rivets and lot of decals BUT is there a version with the nose mounted FLIR and the Black Radome? Quote
yakarov79 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 I think nothing similiar like CH-124 is available for now. Quote

I looked back to my decals.ini entries and i had levels 0 and 2 decals, but non at 1... I corrected the decal levels and tahdah!!!! So will pack everything and go with the upload! Quote
