what if Spain took a more active part in WW2 on the axis side? maybe there would have been some punishment on Spain post war that caused a similar destabilization that happened in Germany right after WWI. some sort of major economic and political upheaval might have had it possible for a communist revolution to happen? Might be far fetched but a possible way to have Spain end up on the other side of the "Iron Curtain". Many scenarios for a larger conflict too since a communist Spain would have some serious strategic complications for NATO.Imagine the lengths NATO would go to to not have Soviet and/or communist Spanish naval bases and air bases bottling up the med.Beautiful what if skin.thanks

If so, the skin must be changed. The black cross on white field was a fast ID marking for Franco planes. A commie Spain would have never used it. Instead a red, yellow, lilac flag on the tail.

I agree but I think Spinners skin was not meant to be communist. I just added my extra 2 cents. :wink: I would expect a Communist Spanish aircraft to have completely different markings most likely including a red star in some way.in my half assed scenario if Portugal didn't go communist too you would expect to see Portugal built up militarily in a similar way that Germany was during the cold war. Portugal would have been a higher priority to receive military assistance too.

Yes, no backstory from me but I'm thinking more along the lines of the Soviets going for foreign currency in that 'Fall of the Wall' era and it does have US missiles as well. Perhaps Sukhoi teamed up with Boeing to market it?

I would think, that a commie Spain would use the markings of the Republic during Civil War 1936 - 39.

Perhaps in the style of the I-16 Mosca (called Rata by the fascist forces). Red fast ID markings and the flag of the spanish republic on the siderudder.

I think it would depend, if the commie won the Spanish revolution then i think they would use those markings but I think they might use something closer to the roundels with a red star added that most of the Warsaw pack used if they went communist post WW2 in civil war. maybe something similar to Yugoslavia but in Spanish color? But of course this is all fantasy so everyone is right here. a what if aircraft or markings can really not be wrong as long as the creator is happy.

      I don't think it's particularly realistic, but here's a modified Su-27 doing Kulbits using actual thrust vectoring and not RCS. (Sorry for the audio quality, I'm using the built in Win10 recorder and it's ugh )
      https://streamable.com/m468da
      So here's how to do it:
      Step 1: Map the thrust vector axis to your normal pitch, ie up/down on the stick. This will make flying a normal VTOL a-la Harrier pretty much impossible, but it's the only way to do this.
      Step 2: How it actually works
      ThrustVectoring=TRUE
      ThrustVectorInputName=THRUST_VECTOR_CONTROL
      MaxVectoredPitchAngle=30.0
      ThrustVectorControlRate=10.0
      ThrustAngles=0.0,-30.0,0.0     //This is the important one. It needs to be the same angle as the MaxVectoredPitchAngle, or it won't work. With this the "neutral" stick position will also leave the thrust vectoring at 0º, and pitching up or down will pitch the thrust vectoring up or down accordingly.
      Step 3: You'll need to add the StabilityAugmentation= parameter to the FlightControl section. Otherwise the plane will just spin like crazy if the AoA gets too high.

      Edit: I'm very sorry, I posted this before I actually finished writing. I guess the Kulbits left me a bit disoriented

      Heyoo
      if ya noticed a couple of minutes a go i posted some ss of my Su-30KI, now im not gonna post it for download because im planning to make it into the 35S with Thrust vectoring and a new cockpit. now..
      what do i use to edit cockpit models? what software needed to design it or any utilities? (the Su-35 cockpit for download dont look so great and i wanna improve on it a lot)
      Secondly, How do i add thrust vectoring nozzles to an aircraft without Thrust vectoring?.
      > The model i use as a base is Marcfighter’s Su-27 and i also have the 37 installed and see it has the nozzles modeled and working.
      Sincerely,
      Noon

      Was up really late last night and found this database on the world's Su-27 and variants Flankers: http://www.sukhoi.mariwoj.pl/
      Definitely worth a browse and more if one is working anything Flanker from the -27 to the -30, -33, -34, & -35.
      There's even a Su-57 (PAK-FA) page: http://su57.mariwoj.pl/, An Il-76/A-50 page: http://www.sukhoi.mariwoj.pl/a-50.htm, and finally a PDF for Ilyushin Il-18, Il-20, Il-22, Il-38.

      Thought it was time for me to start a forum thread on my Nihon Hitori 2020 campaign to update all on my progress.  Learned a lot so far as to the SF2 engine, much more to learn.  Also wanted to start a forum thread to explain my creative process and keep folks abreast of developments plus pose questions.
      Now the pretext of "Nihon Hitori 2020" (Japan Alone 2020 in Japanese) is a mid 2/2020 campaign where the 201 & 203 JASDF Squadrons of F-15Js hold the line against a red tide of Flankers attacking Japanese ships & Hokkaido airports until JASDF reinforcements arrive to start shoving the Russians off of the Kurils as payback... and then a few F-35As help F-2A reinforcements kick a** ending with an explosive air-sea battle against a Russian surface task force.  All within 24 hours, so the JMSDF emergency task force is racing up at 30 knots to have some AEGIS & aircraft-carrying destroyers formate with some older "escort destroyers" out of Ominato base and then sortie together to North Hokkaido from their Honshu bases while the shooting war only intensifies.  All without overt US assistance as the current US President is more than likely to tell Japan they're on their own - he's already shown a clear misunderstanding at best of his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief, a clear contempt for NATO, a deep empathy for Russian President Vladimir Putin, there's some open contempt between the current Japanese Prime Minister & the US President as a previous mentorship seems to have fallen apart, and the current US President even openly thinks, "If the United States keeps on … its current path of weakness, [Japan is] going to want to have [nuclear weapons] anyway with or without me discussing it."
      With that backstory, here's how the first mission is going to likely go:

      There's still some things that need to be firmed up, but this is the general idea for mission 01.  Using WikiPedia for Order of Battle/ORBAT unless tipped off for a better source so Sukhoi Flanker plane color schemes and variants can and will change.
      When the second mission in sequence is firmed up and the third & fourth one (one of which will have JASDF F-35A), will announce that here also.
      Please follow this topic and ask me any questions or requests you got.  Goal is to drop this mission pak on or before 25 March 2019 - my birthday!
