Could anybody help me find it's location and add nations to it? I've been trying to use the F/A-18E Grun Team skin, but I can't figure out how to add it correctly. I think Nations.ini is in MissionData001.cat, you do open it with Notepad right? If anyone could help me with this it would be awesome!

ok, so the nations.ini is in missiondata001, but you will need the Thirdwire cat extractor to pull it

or download this

and then follow the directions in the Grun Team mod for adding to the nations ini.

The two things are totally unrelated! You do not need to edit the _nations.ini necessarily, the skin will work even without the proper nation (Belka) being added to it. Just put the skin folder inside the aircraft folder of the F/A-18E. I suggest that you do not edit the _nations.ini, because it may mess up the stock game, unless you know exactly what you're doing.

BTW, I was working on an Ace Combat _nations.ini, containing only the nations of the Ace Combat universe with their appropriate decals. I will finish it in the future.

this is very true, but the download for the skin he's asking about says to do that, and supposedly gives instructions on how (i read the download page, did not get the mod in question

cant fault him, he's trying to follow directions and not quite understanding how to do it.

      >For Strike Fighters 2 games
This mod is a fork of my nations expansion mod of the stock ThirdWire _nations.ini file. It includes only the nations and respective aviation services of the Ace Combat universe, AKA Strangereal. All roundels are based on official sources and references from all Ace Combat games. Here below a summary of the included services:
-Generic Mercenary faction, using the logo of Ace Combat's developer, Project ACES, as insignia.
-Osean Air Defense Force and Osean Maritime Defense Force (as seen in Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat Zero and Ace Combat 7).
-Yuktobanian Air Force and Yuktobanian Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 5).
-Erusean Air Force and Erusean Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat 7).
-Free Erusea Air Force (available since 2006, as seen in Ace Combat 04, Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat 7).
-Independent State Allied Forces Air Force and Independent State Allied Forces Navy (available since 2003 until 2006, as seen in Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat 5).
-International Union Peacekeeping Force (available since 2007, as seen in Ace Combat 7).
-Belkan Air Force and Belkan Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat Zero).
-Ustio Air Force (available since 1989, as seen in Ace Combat Zero).
-Sapin Air Force (as seen in Ace Combat Zero).
-Republic of Emmeria Air Force and Republic of Emmeria Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 6).
-Estovakian Air Force and Estovakian Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat 6).
-Aurelian Air Force and Aurelian Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat X).
-Leasath Air Force and Leasath Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat X).
-USEA Unified Air Force and USEA Unified Navy (available since 1996 until 2002, as seen in the remake of Ace Combat 2, that is Ace Combat 3D).
-Voslage Air Force (as seen in Ace Combat 7).
-Nordennavic Royal Air Force (from Ace Combat: Northern Wings).
Other aviation services are known to exist in Strangereal, such as the Rectan Air Force, FATO Air Force and Valka Royal Air Force. However, there are no infos concerning such countries with no established flag and culture at the moment. Those are not included in the mod for the time being.
This mod removes the Real World aviation services included in Strike Fighters 2, as such it is not compatible with any mod out of the box. Modders and users are advised to tweak _userlist.ini files and _data.ini files for aircraft and ground objects, to make use of the new services added by this mod.

Just as the operation Desert Thunder began, the confident and proud forces of Dhimar and USA launch into the battlefield over Paran. An enormus aluminium cloud composed by F-4s, A-4s and B-57 crossed the frontline to bomb the heart of Parans military infrastructure, not knowing what was waiting for them...

Within minutes, all squadrons that didn't drawn quickly from the strike, dissapeared from the radar. Those who managed to return to allied soil witnessed enormus explosions, planes vanishing... After hearing what intelligence reports had to say, a new installarion of extraordinary cannons was built deep in Paran soil, cappable of accelerating rounds to enormus speeds and tear down any air unit in a 80km range. Something must be done about it if they want to win the war...
Thats what happened when I put this experiment in the desert terrain and played a campaign hahaha. Here is more footage of it for the ace combat fans:

Hello everyone here at Combat Ace. While I was talking last night with some people in the World of Darkness RPG Discord Group I am a member of I had an idea.
In order to help us get through the cabin fever effect of the social distancing necessary during this time of crisis I would like to propose that CA members who are interested can put together groups to play online/multiplayer PC game that member may have. Those interested could create a CA online gaming thread to list available PC games to find out who has what and organize groups and play times. Maybe use the poll feature to list what multiplayer cable games are available so member an vote to indicate game ownership by member.
Secondly, with an increase in free time we could put together coordinated joint mod projects that we could work on intensively and maybe add in some mod items that we have been longing for but just never had the time to work on. Members interested could start some brainstorming threads to work out some viable projects.
Maybe some people who have not been involved in mod creation before could delurk and get your hands dirty now that you have the free time. CombatAce could really use some more modders. Jump on in, the INI files and object LODS are fine! Just watch out for the .TOD files.
My third idea was that there has to be some table top RPG gamers here on Combat Ace. Would any CA members be interested in putting together some groups to play some table top RPG games online via Discord and/or roll20?
In addition to the RPG gaming, with regard to Discord my thoughts also go to last night when I and some of the other members on the game server spent the evening watching a movie together and then played Skribbl.io, a free multiplayer drawing and guessing game, before going to bed. We had a great time just being able to talk, watch videos, and spam pet pictures at each other as well. As such I thought that even though we can not leave our homes, go to meet our local friends, talk to our bartenders, or even our therapists , we can still talk to our fellow Combat Ace members and we can all help one another through this crisis with some kind words and a sharing of our mutual worry's. Maybe we can even have some fun in the process!
I went a bit Hallmark card at the end there.
P.S. I have set up a "Combat Ace: Cabin Fever" Discord server. Still in development with regard to categories, channels, and rules.

View File Astore - UPEO SKIN PACK FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
Hi to all, I'm Astore. Thanks for downloading my skin pack !
The UPEO (Universal Peace Enforcement Organization) is a fictional faction featured in the Ace Combat game series, and the main faction of Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere.
The Universal Peace Enforcement Organization is an international peacekeeping organization under the Neo United Nations. UPEO maintains the SARF (Special Armed Response Force) when military intervention is required for peacekeeping duties, as well as the Euro-Asia Public Network for neutral, continent-wide broadcasting.
Despite its aim of enforcing peace, UPEO was a puppet of General Resource Limited until the late 2030s. The organization became more independent with the rise of Neucom Incorporated and with Gabriel William Clarkson taking office as UPEO's representative.
UPEO is the player's initial organization at the start of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. In the Japanese version of the game, the player can defect from UPEO to either General Resource or Neucom.
It has shown that their equipment is of two main aircraft carriers, a Nimitz class and an Air Vector UI-4053 Sphyrna, still in construction during the early events of the game. Their main base, is a military airport at the center of Expo City, the eastern city of the USEA continent excluding Megafloat, which is a floating-island city.
The UPEO Air Fleet is composed by future versions of actual aircraft and some fictionals since the game is set in 2040 of the Strangereal Universe, but the only fictional continent invented at the game exit was the USEA, so, since the faction seems to be universal, there could be several other planes operative in other nations, which have been introduced only in Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War (That is set in 2015).
      Main air fleet
EF-2000 Typhoon II -Base plane, multirole fighter-
      Mig-33 Fulcrum SS -Interceptors-
F/A-18 Hornet ADV -Multirole, got from the General Resource LDT faction
F-16XF Gyrfalcon -Air superiority, got from the General Resource LDT faction
R-101U Delphinus I -Base plane of the R Fleet from Neucom.Inc faction
R-201U Asterozoa -Heavy attacker fighter, Attacker from the R Fleet of the Neucom.Inc Faction
SU-37 SUPERFLANKER II -Multirole, mainly Air Supremacy.-
SU-43 Berkut -Multirole, mainly Air Supremacy.-
UI-4053 Sphyrna - Heavy Air vector with the fuction of a flying aircraft carrier with jamming capabilities and interior hangar to store at least 20 planes.
R-505U -Presidential plane of Rapresentative Gabriel William Clarkson
      Aces:
      [From Ace Combat 3] -2040-
      Erich Jager
      Fiona Chris Fitzgerald
      Rena Hirose
      Nemo
      [From other continents] -...-
      Unknown
[From original SF2 Campaigns and missions]
      Aurelia-Astore Squadron-(F-35C Lightning assignated to the CVN-56 Aircraft Carrier)-2025-
      ___________________________________________________________________________________________
      Skin Pack:
F-15 D ACTIVE -UPEO and GR Skins-
      F-16A_Blk1 (Stock F-16) -UPEO skin-
      FA-18a (Stock F-18) -UPEO skin-
FA-27C (Yukikaze Planes Addon) -UPEO and NEU Skins-
      Mig-29C_RUS -UPEO Skin-
Su-27SKM -UPEO and Upeo Ace Rena Hirose Skins-
      SU-47 -UPEO Skin-
Typhoon -UPEO Skin and Typhoon ace skin-
CVN-56 / Admiral 56 (Yukikaze Aircraft Carrier Addon) -UPEO Skin-
Installation: Open the aircraft folder from the downloaded content, and copy/move the UPEO (and variant) folders to the plane's folder in your SF2 (StrikeFighters2>Objects>Aircraft>Your plane folder. Same for the Aircraft Carrier skin: StrikeFighters2>Objects>GroundObjects>Admiral56) There's no need to overwrite on other folders, just add them in the specific folders. My skins does not requires decals, since the emblems are painted in the skin.
If the skin doesn't work or shows leaving your aircraft black, it's possible that you are using a different version of the plane from an another addon, or that your game doesn't read the skin format. When this happen, copy the skin files to save them, then try to change their format (Like JPG). If the skin sets are the same for other models with the same skin mapping, they should work too.
You can make a UPEO Nation in your INI Files continuing the list of nations. Be sure that the Nation number continues the series. In my case since I already got 271 Nations in my file, I've wrote Nation272 to make it work. But you could have to change the number.

Most of these planes should work also on SF Gold. I've started working on the skin pack from Gold and then moved to SF2. Actually, also the F-18 has been downloaded from the FX Interactive site, but the addon from CombatAce should work too. To install manually the aircraft from that site, download them, the site will give a laucher-sort file. Ignore it, do mouse-right click and extract the files. You should obtain the aircraft folder to put in your SFG/SF2 aircraft folder, and it should work. Some of the templates for aircrafts were missing, then I had to make some new by hand, like for the F-15D Active. The older skins could be not at the same quality since I was working on SFG, but they'll be remade in future.

Bugs and errors: The files shouldn't damage your game, if something doesn't work just remove the folder of the skin.
The only bug I actually know is in the F-15 D ACTIVE canards, which couldn't be painted. It was the only Active I found, if you use it in SF2 be sure to insert also a cockpit file.
You can customize the skins if you want to, credit me when you post screens or other in way to allow other players to find the download. Don't forget to rate, good or bad.
This was my first skin pack, I hope I didn't messed up and that everything works. Maybe I'll do other skins in future. Have fun !
