  10. Thanks all, I'm just glad his struggle is over, he was running at 15 litres of oxygen for the last week, barely able to breathe. He is now in a much better place and not struggling for his breath.
  11. Just thought I'd give you an update on how he was progressing, he lost his fight this morning at 8:30am cst. He was a great man, served in the Navy during the Korean War, which was funny, he said no North Korean invaded Puerto Rico during his service, so he must have done his job well. Always with the sense of humor. It was hard watching the cancer eat away at him. August 31st was the diagnosis, October 2nd was the end. At least he passed away in the comfort of our home and not some stale sterile hospital the way he wanted to go. It seemed to be peaceful (thankfully) He was such an active individual to go as he did being eaten down to skin and bones. Don't know what hurt him more the cancer or the fact that he had lost his independence. Salute and I hope this finds you all doing well. Joe

  24. The biggest reason it is such a big issue is because Kerry is running on being a war hero, Bush never brought up the war as he is not running on his National Guard Service, he isn't touting to be a war hero. The thing that I think is funny is If I had those kind of service credentials I would be proud and would have released all my records to stand the scrutiny that he should have known would come his way utilizing this kind of service for running for office. Kerry did a great disservice when he returned from Viet Nam and started in his anti-war protests, the vietnamese were using his own words against his fellow soldiers in POW camps. Not to say attrocities didn't happen, as such war is an attrocity, but to say that they (the soldiers who fought in that particular war) are all war criminals and they happened with the frequency that he says it did. My father served in VietNam 3 tours worth as such and I see what Kerry did as a slap in my fathers and all the rest of the soldiers faces.

    Depression

Just got back from the hospital where my father in law was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-small cell lung cancer. Been out reading around the web and I tell you it does not sound pleasant at all. He is a great man, 75 years old ex-college professor of Russian History, High-School History teacher and a 50+year member of the Barbershop Ensemble SPEBSQSA. My Mother in law is not taking this real well (understandable) and quite frankly, it's got me pretty tore up. Just recently lost my father to Parkinson's Disease among many other ailments. This has not been a good year. Anyway, thanks for being here to listen to an (getting) older flight simmer. Joe
