Un Forces ....anyone??
GhostDog replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
No. I mean like USAFMTL and JJ Alpha are working on adding Iran as a country. Units and so forth. That makes it possible to select it as a country for one of the coalitions and fly as a pilot for it. I know that DDR (former East Germany) has allready been added - though its not (yet) fully compatible with the US/UK versions of the game. I would love to see the UN in the game, even though i think that the only plane the UN has got "on its its own" is the C-130, it would be nice to have them as a "country" and be able to use them as ground units. Adding countries is allready here but adding theatres, not just texture mods, will probably take some time yet. First someone has to figure out how to make a new elevation map and how to texure it, add roads and buildings etc. - then they have to actually do it. And according to Dayglow it them allmost a year to make the one we have so it will be a while even many of the airports and other stuff can be recycled. -
I have seen that some are now working on mods that will add new countries. This is great as it will make all kinds of new scenarios possible. One thing i would very much like to see is UN peacekeeping troops with their white "camo" and all. IMHO UN peacekeepers would be a very likely force to be present in this particular area in case of a conflict or a potential conflict. I don't know if any of you guys here are involved with this kind of modding but i'm asking anyway. Is it a good idea? .. and is it doable?

Here in Copenhagen, Denmark you can drive practically all over town and stay connected to the net.... very lax security IMO

a couple of years ago i actually gave it some thought to buy a boat to live on - sort of like the Dutch do it. I decided against it at the time but i might just reconsider.

Exept for the team itself i don't think anyone at Bio has any idea. I wouldn't mind guessing i probably wouldn't come any closer than you. -
Isn't item #1 the same boat that went on ebay last month for some 80.000.000 $ ? ... and we have allready got a thread (called "lend me a dollar") going on item #2 But I must say that the internet is becomming a good place to do your basic shopping.

Whats The Difference???
GhostDog replied to wesair's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Mission/Campaign Building
if you choose the "OBJ" (object) the target will will "snap" to the nearest object (i.e. vehicle or building). If you use the Coordinate it will set the target to the specific coordinate on the map -
I have just reorganized things slightly in the File Library. I have divided the "missions" folder in multiplayer and singleplayer for obvious reasons. If a download contains both a multiplayer and a singleplayer version it will be listed under multiplayer. There might be some errors in my sorting as all missions don't have very good descriptions - so if you notice a mistake just let me know and i will move it I also moved some campaign files that were located in the missions-folder (by mistake) to the campaign-folder regards , GD

What The???!!!
GhostDog replied to unamed123's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
at the moment its not possible to "just add" new skins. Each time you install a skin it overwrites an existing one. That is one of the reasons that Loman is such a great utillity: It lets you remove user-installed skins as easy as you add them. The option to add skins and keep the ones you allready have may be added in a future patch but as yet there is no word on that. Many have wished for it so i'm sure the developers know of the communitys wishes in this regard but its probably not high on the priority list atm -

Patch V1.02 Has Gone Beta
GhostDog replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Carl/Stormin has just provided us with a teaser of something that might make a return in v1.02: The mini-hud It will be optional and is selected in the options menu under "difficulties" See Carls post here ...and Carl has also confirmed that they have worked on fixing the WP smoke in multiplayer and that it seems to be working now (thanks Mudd)... Thats one of the things i have been looking most forward to -
The last word on the next patch it is that is now in beta and testing has begun. Needless to say a lot of things could still stop it from being released anytime soon. Not much info is out on the actual contents of the patch yet but i suspect that it will still be a strictly bug-hunt patch. The current beta build is around 21 megs but Ubi might choose to offer both a "full" patch and an incremental. Follow Stormins Patch Update thread (0601)
