Question - Does Stt Give Higher Pk To Amraam Shots
GhostDog replied to AirBiskit's topic in General Discussion
i would love to answer that but i would only embarrass myself -
I fooled around a bit more with recording avi's. The only codec that seems to be working is the normal uncompressed avi. The thing is that the files get huge (about a gig pr 15 seconds) and if they get more than a certain size they wont play in the media player. I have tried turning down quality but that doesnt look to be doing much untill you get it down to abot 2%. Then the files will actually get a bit smaller but not much...and i cant see any big difference in quality (thats good i think ) But the track i want to record is about 2 minuttes long and smallest i can get it is around 3Gb which is still ridiculous.... and i have to record it in 20 second segments and paste them together in a video editor to avoid error. If any of you find out a better way then let me know. I knwo about FRAPS but i would like to get the inbuilt to work. btw: it would be a killer avi if i could get it to work....damn: i so much felt like showing off. :(

its good to know that its comming along well. I'm sad to say that i'm a bit pressed for time as it is, so i'm unfortunately not able to join the testers at this time. I hope some other staffers take you up on your offer though. I do have one wish for Loman: A good readme file that tells what all those settings that you can tweak with Loman actually does.
-
your system should, on the face of it, be able to run the game - also a bit above the minimum settings. That I'll give you ;)

Hi AK_Stick First of all i'm sorry that you cant get the game working for you. Next i would like to clear up some things that sounds like misunderstandings to me: IL-2 and Lomac only have their publisher in common. Eagle Dynamics who developed Lomac had nothing to do with IL-2. Secondly: the manual was the responsibility of the publisher, Ubisoft, and not Eagle Dynamics and allthough its not good its on the disc in the "manual" folder - The cost of supplying the good old printed manuals is too high nowadays when flight sims must be considered a niche product. I'm afraid those days are gone for good. A key list can also be found in the "lockon/docs" folder. Carl Normann fron Eagle Dynamics hae several times expressed his dissatisfaction with the job Ubi did on the manual. But back to your main problem of not being able to run Lomac to your satisfaction: Its a bit difficult to help you as you don't state your system specs in detail and don't state in what ways Lomac is giving you trouble. If you did then maybe some of our more tech-minded members here would be able to help you. If you don't want to sit back and hope that your specific problems are magically solved in some future patch then you should try posting on you problems in more detail. Either here or on the official Ubi boards Tech Support forum. Either way i wish you luck. Cheers, GhostDog

ahh..good question. I allways connect directly to a host. You can allways make sure or do it manually. Press control-alt-del an go to the "processes" tab. Right-click on the process called "lockon.exe" and click on "set priority". If its allready in high then all should be good -if not you might have to do this when starting through the Ubi-ware.

Welcome to BioHAz Mutt! Goto the motionscreen. First be sure that the "edit a motion axis axis"'s link symbol is highlighted so you edit both up/down and left/right at the same time. The "edit point" slider chooses what point to set a certain movement speed for in relation to where you head is. If the slider is to the far left you can edits the center postion. You can now set the speed with the speed slider. Set it to 0 or 1. Next move your edit slider one tick towards the right and set the the speed there to low also. You will notice that the curve changes as you adjust the points. You can set as many points as you want to a relatively low speed compared to the rest of the curve thereby creating a "deadzone", or "low response zone" as narrow or wide as you want. By watching the tracking dot in the grid you get an idea of where the edit points is in relation to you head. Hope this help. If not just get back to me Cheers, GhostDog

i try to B) .. but i still might miss a lot Topics sometimes moves at an incredible speed at the Ubi-boards and what i concentrate on cant help but reflect my interests, even though i try to keep an eye out for anything you guys might want. So i'm allways open for suggestion and will take a hint if you hit me with a brick :D btw: Grebs Loman compatible soundpack is up for DL

Hey Slick and all you other snow lovers. I allready have secured the textures and forwarded them to MadJEff. The problem is that as they are very popular AND very big they will eat up our otherwise fine bandwith in no time. MaddJeff is working on setting up something on a different FTP server so theres really not anything to do about it before he can get it worked out at his end We hope to have it solved soon. I know MadJeff is haing a busy week-end so no promisses. But i'm hoping for next week at the latest.

ok have added quite a lot of skins to the DL section now. I think i have all of Mitch Jannsens A10's and Zimsters F15' anyway. I have also added some other misc stuff. If you have checkked in on the File Library you will have noticed a lot of new files. I'm sure i am still missing something so please ding me if you got a request or a wish for a DL. (don't talk to me about the snow textures ;) - we are still working on it)

Sometimes something unexpected happens in our little world. I have had several experiences with talks of weapon delivery and flight envelopes suddenly sidetracking and becomming the beginnings of what i now think of as friendships even though we have never met i might never meet. But in the day to day buisness of being a sim-head you might be caught up mostly in screenshots and patch guides. But many of us probably enjoy the moments when a joke or an insight makes us feel that we "see" the person on the other end. Today there is a post on the Ubi boards that shook me up some . Its not funny or entertaining. But it touched me. Read it here If i'm being too sentimental for your liking then just move on with the simming - the rest of us will join you in a moment. Regards, GhostDog

pity you didn't have any restore points - make sure to make one once you get your computer working. That can save you a lot of trouble. I'm all out of suggestions now... you probably need someone with good understanding of the win.ene and the regestry etc... and thats definately not me
-
NP... be adviced though that there is still bugs with this feature. Test with smaller trackfiles to begin with. One note: it sometimes reckords sounds from you mic when its writing the audio track so switch it off if you have one! Let me know how it works out
-
the only thing that might help if all else has been tried without succes is to to go to : Start>Programs>accesories>system tools>system restore and select "restore my computer to an earlier time". You are then taken to a calender and you can select a restore point - either one of your making or n automatically created one. Choose one from before the hijacking. This has saved me a couple of times. It doens't delete documents and such but might uninstall recently installed programs. You can allways undo a restoration.

1): First record a track by opening a mission in the editor and press control-r or select "record track" from the "flight" menu. 2): When you are done and select quit or end mission (or whatever is says) you are taken to the save screen. Remeber to type in a name for your track and click "save". 3): you can now go to the map screen and select "record Avi" from the "flight menu" - When you do that you are given some options to set codecs and quality etc... 4): Click "Start" ps: if you wanted to change the views on the tracks before you record you can select "video edit" and then change the views before you record. Save it and go to #4) You can allways open a track at a later time by selecting "open" from the main menu and select "track files" in the dropdown menu on the lower right of the open screen

The T&C also states all dates in the year 2003...so i'm not sure wether you should take it that serious. I entered the competition and even if i have to travel to the UK to collect my cougar it would be a good deal for me. I also need spare parts for my old Mini Cooper so that might not be a bad idea at all

a little update on the progress: The program is now fast approaching a state where a release candidate can be compiled and tested. From what i'm reading on the test teams thread the mod is going to add even more than what i thought at the beginning. It will add a whole other feel to missions. You will be able to fly the same missions several times without the same things happening: Will they have escorts? When will they arrive. What units will be there and at what times? From a mission editors point of view it will also be something else entirely to be able to think more in scenarios. What ifs? And know that they can make one mission that will played many times more than what they make today. It might even be possible (no promisses) - that it might work with campaign files. This would mean that you would still have to write the campaigns but the feels would be very dynamic..." now i know how to nail mission #2" - No you don't!
