  1. You might want to go into your B-29's data.ini and change out the gunner's 20MM_M24 for 50CAL_M2. It makes flying through their formations far less lethal and much more realistic. They'll still knock parts off you; just rudders, ailerons, and elevators, not wings. Also, I'm experimenting with adding the [AI DATA] section of the aircraftobject.ini to their data.ini, so I can lower their roll and pitch for combat rates to 30 and 15 to make sure they behave like big bombers, not extremely large fighter-bombers. And I'm also doodling with creating lower accuracy versions of the guns used by gunners, ie: Gunner_50CAL_M2, with their base accuracy cut in half, to represent the harder time gunners had tracking targets, since modding the GunnerAimOffset in the AircraftObject.ini never seems to make that much of a difference for me. I think creating a specialized less accurate version of a gun might give better results for eliminating the Annie Oakley effect of the air gunners in these sims. If I'm wrong about the gun accuracy thing in the gundata.ini, please let me know. Ps: Forgot to mention. In the gun section of the data.ini, change the burst amount from 5 to 15. Don't want it to be too unfair....

  3. Can't wait to see these clear canopy 84's released. I'm flying almost exclusively in Korea now, and would love to add the early Hog to my collection. For some real fun, add LockoutSpeed to your straight wing jet's elevators, but watch your mach on Strike and CAS missions, especially in the Hog, which doesn't like to slow down, even with the speedbrake. I've become a lawn dart more than once by becoming careless about my mach number.
  4. Have been registered at Capun's site for a long time now. Capun and his team have provided a lot to the community, continue to do so, and Capun has always been very helpful, and accessible. Just follow the links he gave you, accept the conditions for doing things, and you'll find a lot of buried treasures. Heck

  10. Could you also apply this idea for JATO packs in a Korean War Mod? Heck
  11. Thanks, guys. I know when I compare what's here to what I have I'm going to have one of those "doh" moments. Heck
  12. Downloaded the F-84G from here. According to the notes, it's supposed to have HVAR's but doesn't. Tried all afternoon to add them, playing endlessly with attachment types, locations, StationID=, StationGroupID=, but no luck getting them to show on this aircraft. Is anyone flying this aircraft and using rockets who would be willing share what they have in their data.ini and loadout.ini? I've run out of time to devote to this. Thanks. Heck
  13. It would seem then, that the only way to get it to work in TK's sims, would be to remove all day only aircraft and build just a nightfighter version, with only the aircraft you want flown at night, because it seems to be hardcoded into single missions at least, that bombers sometimes need escorts. Would it be possible to change the formations ini to show the bomber stream type of formation and the single fighter type of formation used at night? Again, I don't know much about this stuff, or how it works, but it seems there should be a workaround, and perhaps it's the formations ini. Just some random thoughts before the coffee kicks in. And having flown a few night missions in a Lanc, I know what you mean about how beautiful TK's sims can be at night, especially when the tracers are flying somewhere behind you, and you suddenly see a flash, then watch a flamer go down, only to realize it's one of your Lancs as you watch it slam into a riverbank below. These sims can be awesome visually at night... Heck
  14. Looking good, Ordway. Really enjoying your Mig-15 cockpit. You're doing great work. Thank you. Heck
  15. Just got it. Thank you, Ordway. Been test flying it. Love it. And thanks for the link, it has some great information, and if you burrow through all the associated links from the first one, you find a wealth of great discussions and more information. A great addition, Ordway. Thanks again. Heck
  16. Ordway. It's beautiful. Just as it is. People will learn to fly it. Just as it is. Please release it. Right now it exists only in screenshots, which isn't doing anyone any good. If you decide to change it later, it can always be updated. I've downloaded many updated versions of things, terrains, etc. Right now, many of us are flying Korea again, now that Tazkiller and team have released their fantastic Sabre/Mig package. And Tazkiller is working on an update of his data.ini's to work in WOI patched. Fighter pilots jump on opportunities. Please jump on this one. You've done superb work. I'd love to be flying it. I'm hoping that you'll consent to release what you have. Heck
  17. I don't know anything about the artificial horizon, but on the subject of cockpit mirrors, I have closely examined every photograph in the following volumes: Mig Fifty Years of Secret Aircraft Design, by Belyakov and Marmain; and Mig-15, by Yefim Gordon and Vladimir Rigmant, and can find no evidence of cockpit mirrors on any Mig-15 or 15bis, with the sole exception of the Sp-5 which was a modified Mig-15bis used as a test bed for the Izumrud RP-1 radar. And this "periscope," as it's called in the book, doesn't appear on any other plane, and would be impossible to miss, because it's a huge, wonky looking zit on top of the windscreen frame. All cockpits do seem to have the top strap across the top of the canopy, however. And on the subject of cockpit mirrors in general; by the time I see someone in a cockpit mirror, he's usually already shooting, so their presence is kind of moot.... Heck
  18. My computer is going to blow up. But, I want it.......
  19. Waiting patiently for your release, ordway. Looks great, no matter what it is. You've obviously done your homework, and I hope it will be released soon. Despite its somewhat evil reputation, the Mig-15 is one of my favorite aircraft, and this pit is well worth waiting for. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into it. Heck

  21. If you're talking about Rhugovi's RA-5c mod, the only modification I made to my data ini was the following to make it deck landable. Change the nose gear section from this: ShockStroke=0.40 SpringFactor=1.3 DampingFactor=1.8 to this: ShockStroke=0.40 SpringFactor=2.3 DampingFactor=2.8 Before I made this change I could never deck land her. I finally discovered that she was literally flipping over the nose, even when I nailed a good landing. Once I changed the values for the nose gear, I could land it. You get a real good nose dip, but she doesn't go over the nose. Ps This is deck landing in hard mode. Hope this helps, Heck
  22. Very nice addition to the Korea set of mods, ndicki. Great job. Thanks. Heck
  23. Please don't get rid of the KB. I use it all the time. Thanks. Heck
  24. Thanks, Taz. This is one of the most thorough representations of the F-86 (the most beautiful aircraft they ever bent aluminum for) that's ever been presented in any sim I've had. Everyone involved has done a superb job. And the flying in WOI has made the Silver Hawk take on a whole new character. I'd nominate this mod and all involved for the Hall of Fame. And I know from other posts you've made that there's more good Korea stuff lurking in the wings. Heck
  25. If you check the data.ini for the B-29, you'll see this in the Flight Control section: [FlightControl] StallSpeed=45.13 100.9mph CruiseSpeed=135.92 303.8 mph ClimbSpeed=208.85 466.8 mph CornerSpeed=75.54 168.9 mph MaxG=3.00 MaxSpeedSL=257.05 574.6 mph MachLimit=0.80 PitchDamper=1.0 RollDamper=0.5 YawDamper=0.05 I believe, if I remember correctly, that these figures are supposed to be in meters per second, which means the B-29 is capable of over 570 mph. I think that might be a tad high..... And I don't think it could maintain a climb at 466 mph. Might want to fiddle with these, if I am correct about their being in meters per second. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. That is one hot ship for a bomber... Heck
