  1. I know of at least one of our members who has played an F-105 campaign this way. He modified the campaign length to require 100 missions, flown every other day. The farthest he got was 67. FC
  2. http://forum.combatace.com/make-aircraftweapon-useable-thirdwire-sims-t43234.html FC
  3. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9477 It's an SF2 release. FC
  4. They're lagging the fight already though... We'll see...competition is a good thing. FC
  5. Vanir, What, someone posts contrary data to what you posit and you take your toys and go home? Disagreeing with a moderator happens, but as long as it's handled respectfully (and doesn't relate to board moderation) it's not a big deal. So don't play the 'it's unfair' card here...that don't fly. That being said, this is not a publically owned board. This is a private message board, mostly run and administrated by folks in 'the West' for lack of a better term (I haven't forgotten you Gr. Viper ). Therefore, you can expect some bias. But there are certainly plenty of 'Red Side' fans here, and more aircraft are being made everyday...so you can certainly have a discussion. The main reason most people don't participate in this sort of discussion much anymore was hit on the head by Caesar in his blog (I suggest you read it). A lot of these arguments are based on the hypothetical, but people post like it's gospel. These discussions can quickly head south as each side tries to convince the other and eventually the shouting starts. This kind of crap simply gets old and turns into a 'who's schlong has a higher PK'. And your initial post certainly wasn't unbiased by any stretch, so don't pretend you planned to have a neutral discussion. FC
  6. I have to admit I'm surprised as well that A) It's flying and B) they are selling it. There are several museums you would think would be fighting over this machine. Hell, the price they're asking isn't much lower than getting a flyable T-38, and that's not a rare machine at all. FC
  7. Not for a while...my body clock gets screwed up enough just with a 3 hour time zone change. Last thing I want is a 10 day round the world trip...even if it pays good money! FC
  8. And that's what I meant as well...I always have a texture to every material. FC
  9. Stick, I was very sorry about hearing that sometime ago...I was flying with a Su-30MKI pilot (he was doing an exchange tour) from your country when we heard about it. FC
  10. You have no idea what the Raptor can actually do. Aircraft performance, sensor, counter-sensor tech. Not a clue. Not based on sales pitches either. FC
  11. If he's thinking that, that is correct. In MAX you must assign a specular and reflection value to the material that you are using for the canopy. FC
  12. Though I'd like the idea of being based in Indy...probably not going to happen. They've invested serious money into new ramp and hangers for the 777 in Memphis. FC
  13. Because it's still got that new car smell! FC
  14. UFU has been working great...and I don't think there is a 15 use limit after all...cause I could swear I've used it a lot more than that. ANSI2Uni I haven't had time to use much more than my initial testing. Once the F-15s are done, I'm going to convert all the inis (and maybe the LST files) to Unicode. FC
  15. Decals: TGA files are graphic files, and so any decent graphics program can view them...GIMP is a decent one. Tweaking the skin can also be done in GIMP. You need to learn it first...it's not intuitive right off the bat. LOD files (the model) cannot be changed once built. You need access to the original MAX file, which can be only be opened by 3ds MAX (sometimes just called MAX) by Autodesk (a 3d editing program that can a cost few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the license). Now there are ways to make parts disappear using ini edits, and if you have MAX or know someone with MAX that can help you, you can add parts using the 'Pilot' method. I've been testing the NotAllowedWeapon parameter and I can't seem to get it to work either. Question, why don't you just not load the weapon? You can either manually not load it, or edit the LOADOUT.INI file to force load the specific weapon you want. Another techique is to have 2 weapon stations for the same pylon position. In other words, one weapon station would only be for bombs, and the other would only be for ARM missiles, with specific LoadLimit, DiameterLimit and LengthLimit for each weapon station. FC
  16. First pics of FedEx 777F number one...brand spanking new off the factory floor. FC
  17. That'll leave a mark... FC
  18. Bad things man...bad things. It says in the Nato Fighters readme that it is a stand alone install. You messed up your install of Nato Fighters/WOE by installing that weapons pack (whichever one you used). I would recommend uninstalling WOE, deleting everything, then reinstall WOE, patch, then Nato Fighters...and nothing else. FC
  19. I will say having over a decade of flying an aircraft with a B10 handgrip...there are FAR superior grips out there. Once we converted over to the C model with the new HOTAS setup, I never looked back (was dual qual for a while). And from a human factors standpoint, the B10 has several issues. Modern sticks are better overall, while adding the functionality required by modern aircraft. Also, I think once the word gets out, there might be more folks that'll jump ship than you think. Just the fact that it has 2 unique things NO other stick currently made has (split throttles and force feedback), combined with ease of use/programming will cause many people to rethink. Also, compared to CH and TM, it's competitively priced. Unless it turns out to be absolute junk, I'm with Rugg...I think Logitech is going to sell a BUNCH of these. FC
  20. Which weapons pack...some of them are significantly out of date and will not work with a patched install. FC
  21. Did you add a weapons pack before or after installing Nato Fighters? Nato Fighters is designed as an all in one stand alone install. Any other combination will cause problems. FC
  22. Nice to see someone besides TM and CH in the hardcore HOTAS game. Makes me pine for the days when I had the time...flying with a true HOTAS is awesome...and FF to boot! Thanks for the review Rugg! FC
  23. I've never been satisfied with an electric, it never seems to get close enough compared to a blade. I can usually get away with once a day. Downside of course is that you need to refill your supplies (blades and shaving cream) fairly regularly. FC
  24. I've seen it fly around before...didn't seem to be any louder or quieter relatively speaking compared to any other twin rotor helo. But that's subjective on my part, I haven't been exposed to too many twin helos to form a good comparison. FC
