  1. Silly question here...was that back in the F-4 days? Because Hill AFB has been HL for a long time now...I think. FC

    IT IS ALIVE!

C5, Very nice work...old school Chevy power...457 hp! FC
  4. Excellent work! That's something this sim has been really needing! FC
  5. Brain, Actually it's a perfectly good idea. Look at all the mods for the GermanyCE terrain, several of which overlap in ini changes. Getting a consesus on the direction the mod should go in is the hard part. FC
  6. Damn...that's nice! CA_Stary, is it possible to tweak the textures on JSF_Aggie's road airfield bunkers for the winter season? Just wondering... FC
  7. I don't think such a thing (IR jammers) are modeled in the TW series. FC
  8. Approved...check it out folks! FC
  9. False. My ass is more than big enough to sit on without additional padding. The person below me thinks a Mitsubitishi Zero is a new model car. FC
  10. Okay folks, everyone relax and step away from the keyboard. Soulfreak's native language isn't English...it was meant as a joke. FC
  11. Why are you exporting a shadow? The most recent patches don't need them anymore...including ground objects. FC
  12. Not necessarily. The Oct 08 patch changed certain parameters and 3rd party models made beforehand may not work properly. FC
  13. Coolpilot. You do realize the Thirdwire series is currently XP native...there are no Vista versions out yet. The Vista native versions are the ones with the new directory structure. FC
  14. "Uh...nice paint scheme. Very...festive." FC
  15. The format should be: SystemName[009]=WS_LeftIn How about attaching your data.ini and .out file to this thread so folks can look at it. FC
  16. Picky, picky! Orbital mechanics aren't my thing ya know! FC
  17. Who here has noticed that their aircraft folder is a little cluttered with all your aircraft...but all your pilot files are just 'out there'. Kind of like the old Bunyap's Weapons folder back in the day. Well, guess what? The same principles that worked in newer versions of the Weapons Packs that are out there also will work with pilot models. Lets look at an example with my cockpit photo mod. Originally, you had put the following files directly into the Objects/Aircraft folder: Photo.ini Photo.bmp Photo.LOD Photo.TGA This is not true (maybe it hasn't been true for a while...I'm not sure) anymore. Instead, create a new folder called 'Photo' in the Objects/Aircraft directory and move those files into it. Guess what...it still works normally. The critical thing is that the name of the folder AND the name of the ini within the folder MUST match exactly...otherwise the sim will not 'see' the LOD. Now, some of you are thinking...hey, some of these models don't have ini files...if I need to make one, what should it say? Well, taking a cue from the stock TW models, here is what is in a typical one: Pretty easy...all you really need is the name of the LOD file the ini needs to reference. If some models only have one LOD file, just change it to look like this: Easy as pie. Now you can neaten up your Aircraft folder. Of course, it may not be as easy to tell what is a pilot directory vs an aircraft directory. A solution would be to have all your Pilot models start with 'Pilot' as a name (like PilotF35, PilotSu27, etc). All you have to do is ensure the ini and directory name match...the LOD can be a totally different name. Now, the more clever among you may ask 'Hey, does this mean with simple ini edits, I could have different skins for the same model?' In other words, say you have directories Pilot1 and Pilot2, where everything is the same except the name of the ini files (the content of the bmp skins would be different...duh). Sorry to say...no. The sim isn't that flexible. You'll still need to do a hex edit of the LOD to reference a different .bmp file. Give it a shot! FC
  18. Ed, what version of MAX do you have...if you have 9 or later, I can send you one of my MAX files for you to study. FC
  19. Silly question...did you add the wing stations as SystemName= under a component? FC
  20. The MAX file was lost due to an HD crash. The builder got so frustrated that he's given up modding. Because of that, the community has lost confidence in the TW series and has abandoned the franchise. The lost software sales caused the sales of flight sims to plummet, which affected the sales of gaming software in general. This bled over into the software market resulting in loss of general consumer confidence in the electronic business. Which has impacted the general world economy, causing deflation, massive layoffs, and falling revenues. All this falling has caused a fundemental shift in the gravitational constant of the planet, jarring the orbital balance and causing the Earth to spiral away from the Sun. Impact with Mars is in '2 weeks'. FC
