  1. Some nice opposition if I ever get a Gripen NG ;-)
  2. If it is only for yourself, I would recommend using the Campaign Editor DLC.
  3. View File Saab JAS 39 Gripen-C/D Força Aérea Brasileira Package Saab JAS 39 Gripen-C/D Força Aérea Brasileira Package by The Scandinavian Front Team The Saab JAS 39 Gripen (griffin) is a lightweight single-engine multirole fighter manufactured by the Swedish aerospacecompany Saab. It was designed to replace the Saab 35 Draken and 37 Viggen in the Swedish Air Force (Flygvapnet). The Gripen has a delta wing and canard configuration with relaxed stability design and fly-by-wire technology. It is powered by the Volvo-Flygmotor RM12 engine, a derivative of the General Electric F404, and has a top speed of Mach 2. Later aircraft are equipped for in-flight refuelling; most of the export aircraft have been designed to be compatible with NATO interoperability standards. The Aircraft was most recently leased by Brazil awaiting delivery of their Gripen-NG; At least 6 Gripen-C and Gripen-D will be avalible for the 2016 Olympics - most probably many more. This package contains two "Probable-in-near-future" Aircraft with correct serials, year-specific loadouts and correct weapons. JAS 39C-B(razil): The NATO-compatible version of Gripen with extended capabilities in terms of armament, electronics, etc. It uses large colour displays with English language, feet and knots instead of meters and km/h. This variant can also be refuelled in flight. JAS 39D-B(razil): The two-seat version of the C variant; otherwise similar to the B variant. Training variant. 5. Seems like Brazil will rent a number of Gripen-C. Do not say another word, I will be on my way to make one for our Brazilian Pilots in a jiffy.
  6. Yeah, so when are some nice 3D Chap going to make me a Gripen E for TSF, eh?
  7. Please note that during the Steam Winter Sale, DCS Products may show up. While I write this, all DCS products are 66% off.
  8. Come now, chap. You got the Indian deal... Besides, you are taking it a lot better then some of your countrymen ;-)
  9. If it is any comfort, Saab took a huge shitstorm for the use of corruption in its sales here in Sweden. I doubt they will try it again, and some say it is why the Indian contract was lost. I have to say this is the key thing here. Most of your issues seem to be from political decisions - and believe me when I say what that can do to a countrys defence forces! Our own forces suffer from that everyday - not our Gripens since Swedish defence right now is all about keeping the Arms industry in business at the expense of everything else. However, since your aircraft is leased from our Air Force, I would hope you take better care of them. Because that may cost you more money in the end.
  10. Well, good for Dassault to get the Indian deal. If they had not got that, the Rafae would be buried now.
  11. Loss of American dignity and the sale of the excellent Super Hornets to Brazil is what the NSA have cost the American people as the Rafaele ran out of gas and could not afford fuel not even halfway to the finish line. It has been announced in Swedish and Brazilian newspapers that the Saab Gripen NG is the choice of the Brazilian Government to equip their air force. The Gripen has been the favourite of the Air Force for some time, mainly due to low maintenance costs. I wonder if this means the Sea Gripen project will start in earnest. It was mainly aimed at India, but Brazil could be interested as well.
  12. Cool bird! You are seriously talented!
  13. First of all. My first comment was in jest. Second of all; you do the same mistake you accuse me of. The City of Visby has changed hands quite a few times, and almost always the method has been bloodshed. Below are the more famous examples. So how about we just settle that both are equally worthy of their name and leave it at that.
  14. Well, it may be stupid but it comes from a town that is twice as old as your nation ;-) And I do happen to know about the Carrier, hence the reference to her nickname. In a "What-If", she was the Carrier refitted and sold to Sweden.
  15. They STILL have a ship by that name? One would think it was one of the ones who would be removed for sheer sillyness. But I suppose the legend of the Mighty Moo still lives...
  16. Link: http://combatace.com/topic/80851-guide-how-to-add-enemy-amphibious-landings/ So... Ivan Rogov anybody?
  17. I discovered this little trick while working on my latest campaign, and it flipped my plans on it a little bit on the side. As an experiment, I checked if a ship-delivered Unit could land on a enemy held position. Of course it could not; the ship is merely the catalyst for the spawning of the unit. When it has reached its destination, it spawns the ground unit; and ground units can not be spawned in enemy territory. So here is what you do. 1: Make sure your front line is close to the coast. It may work over distance but that is not why we are here. The concept is to create the illusion of a Amphib Landing. 2: Create a point in your Targets file, right outside the front line on the waters edge. The closer, the better, especially if the front line is just a mile or so off the coast. 3: Create your Task Force. Its objective destination should be the same as the point you just created. 4: Create Your Unit. Have it be carried by the Naval Force to the Point in question. BaseArea=Deploy Point NavalUnitID=5 ShipID=1 5: Create the Strategic Nodes, connecting the Deploy Point to the closest land target. Make sure it also ties back into your own main base. NOTE: Make sure there is either another way to your main base for a counter-attack or put all defending units on "Defensive Only". This will prevent the defenders to step into the Sea. DefenseOnly=TRUE 6: Enjoy the show.

  18. Hmm. You mean something like this? Not a bad idea. Will look into it. Already looking into possible use of Avro Vulcans fitted with Crusie Missiles to counter Soviet Naval Supremacy. If they pulled a few out of storage for the Falklands, they could just as well have done so with the world on fire for the past year.
  19. Indeed. Paulopanz talked me into it. Not that I needed it all that much, I actually like the idea. Terrain used will be the Photorealistic UK.
  20. Right, Chaps. Keep a lid on it and settle down. Today's briefing will cover the expected movements of the enemy. As you are all well aware, Central Europe has since the Russian Attack last year looked pretty much the same as the Great War we all know and love. Considerable NATO Reinforcements brought by the successful REFORGER Convoys but it came at a heavy price. The Opposition managed to seize Iceland, too late however to actually change anything. Scandinavia is effectively out of the fight after the Soviet push in that direction, but it seems they cannot spare the manpower for a direct invasion, settling to destroy their navies and air forces. Our sources have confirmed to us that the Soviets have decided to act in a rather different manner. Knowing trying yet another attempt to break the stalemate in Europe would be futile, they have decided to move in our direction. Soviet naval activity, including the Heavy Aviation Cruisers Kiev and Minsk has been put on alert, as has the rather considerable bomber fleets of the Northern Fleet. They are going to open up a second front by conducting an invasion of Scotland. To do so, they must suppress and destroy the elements of our Home Fleet, as well as you lads, the Interceptor Defence. The Queen is of the opinion that Ivan should have to reconsider this plan. As such, we are as of right now ready to repel the enemy Blitz to defend the assets and prevent the Soviet Invasion. Nimrods will be providing us with updated information about Ivans movements at Sea. Aside from the Naval Forces - and that will be the problem for No 12 Squadron out of Lossiemouth and 800 NAS off HMS Invincible - we can expect a considerable amount of Soviet Bombers to pay us a visit. Assume Tu 16 Badger, Tu 22 Blinder, Tu 22M Backfire - the usual lot - supported by Tu 95 Bear for reccie. Now, the Viggens and Drakens of Sweden taught Ivan the lesson that he needs to protect his bombers or lose them in large numbers, so do not expect this to be easy. Intelligence estimates that Tu 128 Fiddlers and MiG 25 Foxbats will be employed in the long range escort role. They cannot turn all too well, but neither can your Phantoms. Do not underestimate the capacity of these aircraft. To make matters more interesting, we expect them to be supported by Tu 126 Moss AWACS to lead them towards or away from us. Allied Forces in the area will not be of much use. A few E 2 Hawkeyes who survived the sinking of USS America has been lend-leased to us, crew and all and will be in support in this operation. They are smaller and carry the queens flag so you will not confuse them with the Moss. Survivors of the Royal Danish Air Force have relocated to the Faeroe Islands. We have established a support base for them at the local airport. While small in numbers their CF-104 Starfighters should be good in a crunch. Home Fleet will be lead by the Navy's new toy, HMS Invincible carrying 800 NAS. They operate Sea Harrier FRS 1. The Navy will also form all ships that can be spared into a Surface Action Group to assist in countering the Soviet movements in the Pond. Expect these assets to be the primary target of the Soviet Operations. That is all for now, Gents. Good luck and Godspeed!
  21. That is probably against some kind of French law ;-)
  22. It is things like this that out of sheer envy want me to enforce Swedish Gun Laws on the lot of you ;-)
  23. Same problem. Write-Protect the aircraft .ini file and its solved.
