View File SF2E: TSF: Midvintermörker The Scandinavian Front: Midvintermörker By The Scandinavian Front Team On Boxing Day 2012, Sweden wakes up to a new world; A Sweden they have never seen before. A powerless and dark Sweden. A day everything changed. Sweden is under attack; Gotland is being invaded by Russian Forces and sabotage patrols wreak havoc in the major cities. Försvarsmakten bets everything on one card; Operation Gudrun. They must repulse the Russians from Gotland or loose the Island forever. Installation: If you are using a mod, or plan to use one, TSF will mess around with settings other mods may be using. As such, creating a seperate mod folder for TSF is a good idea. If you only plan to use TSF, then this step can be bypassed. Go to your installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2). Make a copy of Strike Fighters 2.exe / Strike Fighters 2 Europe.exe depending on what you prefer and got installed. Name the Copy Strike Fighters 2 TSF.exe . Start your new .exe once, then close the game. Now go to your Mod Folders. For Windows 7/Vista, this is located in C:\Users\Name\Saved Games\Thirdwire. For Windows XP Users, it is usually in My Documents. Unzip the contents of the 7zip file into the mod folder of your choice. Allow any overwrites. As long as this package is installed last, it can and should be merged with the other The Scandinavian Front packages. Team TSF recommends Starys Tiles for the terrain. It looks alot better. Install it last; when all TSF packages are installed and working. Just a note: The "Enemy territory" in the Sweden map is actually sandwitched between two of the Allied Nations. Getting in there with ships is pretty much begging to die. Let the "enemy" water map follow the soviet border instead. Here is TSF Water map: Sweden_Water.rar -
Hello. I am working with a timing on paratroopers, and my waypoints go out over water in some case; but not very far. I wonder if it is possible either put the bomb drop before or after the actually bomb drop point, so Paratroopers / Bombs / Whatever are dropped about 20-30 seconds later / Earlier? With Regards JRL

New entrys on SF2 NA
JonathanRL replied to KnightWolf45's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
I have managed to trigger a Crusie Missile correctly, but is there anybody who knows how to make a ship actually fire on them? The Stationary Object Ships I use just does not want to. EDIT: Tested with Krivaks, who shoot down the missile at once. EDIT2: It is a radar issue. The ships must be able to see the object to hit it. -
Too obvious ;-)

I am not against vital support staff getting awards; but I am against them getting combat awards unless they have been in actual combat.

I have to tell you, the worst thing about beeing a modder is I am so busy making my own projects so I have barely any time playing them -

In TW Mission builder, you can simply specify one aircraft; so all this is not necessary. This is for Campaigns only. When trying to create one-aircraft formations; my game simply crashes. I have yet to discovery why. This is a work-around for that. The Invisible Wall is along the edges of the map (but not at the absolute Edge, it pretty much is placed so you cannot reach the real edge). When reaching it, Aircraft will be pushed alongside it; and thus move in strange direction. This will look wierd, but if you just F6 amongst the flight groups, chances are people wont notice.

We all know SF2: NA implemented AWACS, but until they work properly for people without, I came up with a little interesting solution, especially if you want people to be able to see and / or intercept the Aircraft. Maybe somebody else figured this out before I did; but I am posting anyhow; since its way more fun then just having it as a transport. First, extract the NATIONS.INI and FORMATION.INI These are pretty much all you will need aside from the Aircraft you want to use as an AWACS. Add this (change as you feel necessary) into your Nations.ini You can find my CALLSIGNSAWACS attached below. [Nation216] - [b]Note this number and make sure its next in line.[/b] Name=AWACS DisplayName=AWACS Alignment=FRIENDLY PilotNameList=NamesSwedish.lst RankList=RanksUSAF.lst CallsignList=CALLSIGNSAWACS.LST Formation.Fighter=AWACS Formation.Attack=AWACS Formation.Bomber=AWACS Formation.Transport=AWACS Formation.Tank=USTank Formation.MobileAD=USAD PilotTrainingStandard=EXCELLENT GenderRatio=1 DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav SpeechFile=USAFSpeech.cat SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.str Into Formation.ini; add [FormationType005] Name=AWACS FormationType=AIR BaseLevel=2 Level[01].Name=Squadron Level[01].Size=6 Level[01].Formation[01]=AWACS Level[02].Name=Flight Level[02].Size=4 Level[02].Formation[01]=AWACS Level[03].Name=Element Level[03].Size=2 Level[03].Formation[01]=AWACS And a little futher down; amongst the other formations: [AWACS] Position[01].Offset= 0, 0, 0 Position[02].Offset= -100000, -50000, -5 Position[03].Offset= 100000, 50000, 5 Now you only need to have your AWACs Sqadron belong to nation AWACS. This works for both sides as it is the force they belong to that is the important part Also, Make sure the flight itself does not have more then six aircraft. Strike & Combat Air Patrol are the best roles for the "Fake" AWACS. So what have we accomplished, really? The formation sets the aircraft very much apart. It will look as if they are patrolling on their own, but in reality, they are just in a very, very wide formation. This may at times make one of the aircraft hit the invisible wall; adjust the distance as necessary. Oh, and the "Fake Awacs" part? Replace everything under [DETECTSYSTEM] with this and they will scout the skies for you (Requires latest patch). Enjoy! Yes. The main issue was that Anti-Ship Missions never triggered if your side did not have the iniative. Was screaming to TK for a Fix. My reward? Having entire anti-ship in campaigns getting broken in latest patch ^^
