So... this new PLAAF stealth fighter...
ghostrider883 replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
The war, skirmish actually, that they lost for the Siachen glacier( Operation Meghdoot). Their "supposedly" elite SSG could not hold on to those heights against evil Yindu Kaafirs . Guess who was leading one of those failed SSG assaults on the kaafirs in SIachen in the late 80s?...... none other than Pervez "Busharraf" Musharraf. No wonder he was so desperate to avenge that humiliation by taking heights around Kargil in 1999. Again, he got his "Musharraf" handed back to him by the Kaafir Indian Forces . -

Kaaaaaaaaaafirrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! How dare you question Land of the Pure's Djinn powered acquisitions!!!!! You infidels are RAW agents out to malign the world's best Raptor killer Air Force!!!! LOL . Yup, I visit that place just to amuse myself and to see a bunch of jokers having wet dreams of how their Force, or for that matter their Army or Navy, beats the living daylights of the Indians everytime . Four and a half wars lost and they still don't want to wake up to reality !!!!! -
Chinese carrier Liaoning/Varyag delivered

The reason why the Indian Navy chose the Naval Fulcrum instead of the Naval Flanker was largely because of space constraints on the Vikramaditya. Russian Navy is going with the Fulcrums now because the Indian decision proved how the smaller Naval Fulcrum could be configured to be as potent as the Flanker. Most of the Indian Navy Fulcrums pilots got fighter time on IAF MiG-29s before they went to carrier ops training course in the US. The Indian Naval Fulcrums purchase is doing to the Naval Fulcrums what the MKI purchase did to the Flanker exports (Su-30s specifically). The Indian Navy Carrier INS Vikramaditya was due for induction on Indian Navy Day(December 4), but failure of seven of eight boilers during trails has put of induction date by atleast seven months :-( -
Ian, The first batch of 18 Su-30s that were inducted in IAF's No.24 Sqdn in the late 90s were plain Su-30K/MKs. The K/MKs, apart from their three tone blue camo, differed from the MKI in the following aspects: 1. Canards 2. Non-Thrust vectoring AL-31F engines(MKI has thrust vecotring Al-31FP engines) 3. Had Limited multi-role capability 4. Different radar. All 18 K/MK frames were shipped back to Russia somewhere in the middle of this decade and No.24 converted to the MKI. Currently 8 IAF Sqdns are equipped with the MKI. If you are interested in Indian Flankers, try getting a copy of this amazing book by Phil Camp & Simon Watson. I have a copy and the book is worth the photos alone.: http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/reviews/books/su30bookreviewkb_1.htm

A huge mob is trying to advance towards the US Embassy in Islamabad. They have burnt down the police checkpost just before the embassy....so much for Pakistan being US's greatest non-NATO ally.

Is that the best you could come up with? How is that crash record related to Afghanistan and the attack on Camp Bastion, pray tell ? SInce you went there, alteast that country doesn't depend on "donations" & "alms" to replace crashed aircraft, or in the recent cases, being blown up by fellow citizens .
-
Yet, that unmentionable country is not the place where Osama "bhai" was caught right under that country's Army's nose. Yet, that is not the country where American drone strike kills terrorist scumbags. Yet, that is not the country who are not able to do a thing to protect their sovereign airspace with their super duper Air Force
-
Sad, RIP to the dead. The real brains behind this operation are sitting happily on Afghanistan's Eastern border, and yet those guys get rewarded with P-3Cs to supposedly "fight" terrorists!!!! When ISAF eventually withdraws, the place will a big mess. It won't take on for these scumbags to make another Najibullah out of Karzai and again country will become a factory for producing terrorists, on an unmentionable country's behest..

Soon to be cleared. It beat the Havoc in trials for IAF's requirement for 22 attack helos to replace/augment the Mi-25/35 fleet. Well,, When India goes to war, it will not only be in Kashmir. The war will also be fought in the deserts and plains, where the Apache will excel. I never said that. To attack the intruders at those heights, the Hinds were found incapable. The Mi-17s were equipped with rocket pods to attack those Paki intruders and they were flying at limits of their performance. The Dhruv WSI (Rudra) with its better performance at high altitudes will serve better as a gunship than the Hip.
-
The Dhruv is doing quite well in Kashmir ,as seen from the photos below. The Army Aviation Corps continues to induct them in numbers to maintain vital air link to forward posts, including the highest Indian Army post on Siachen at 21,000 feet. The reason why Dhruv is required by the IAF & Army as a gunship is because of the Kargil Experience. Neither the Hinds nor the soon to cleared Apaches can operate effectively at those altitudes. Even the Mi-17s used by the IAF did not have front guns fighting Pakis army terrorists in Kargil, hell some of them even did not have counter measure dispensers, which led to the tragic loss of the brave Mi-17 gunship aircrew in Kargil. The Dhruv WSI will have cannons as well rocket pods and missiles(four of them).
-
Apparently, one the main rotors of the Mi-17s hit the other one. One of the crashed choppers burnt up completely. Nine aircrew lost, among them senior pilots from India's TACDE( Tactics & Air Combat Development establishment) :-( . RIP . Crash site pictures. These are the new Mi-17V5s that are being inducted to replace old Mi-8s and 17s: IIRC 12 AW101s was selected fro the VIP/ Comms Squadron of the IAF and the first one few in IAF colours recently at AW facilty in UK. HAL Dhruv Mk.IIIs are powered by more powerful Shakti engines are being inducted in numbers by the army and are doing well serving frontlines in Kashmir. In October 2007, an Army Dhruv helicopter flew at a record altitude of 27,500ft in Siachen. Soon a Gunship version, christened the Rudra will be inducted by the Army & air Force.

Nice work Ed . Can't wait to see it in IAF colours. -
Extremism in Pakistan will never go away unless the ISI and its likes stop supporting terror groups(all of them including those supposed "freedom fighters"). The Afridi fellow is being prosecuted with a vengeance because that raid exposed how Pakistani military & terror groups are closely involved. A guy like Osama lived in Abbottabad and the Pakistan military didn't have knowledge about it ? I don't think many in the world bought that argument. I am glad they dumped Osama's body in the ocean so that his bretheren don't have a place to worship him in the future . It was all directed at India, but now those fellows have turned the heat on Pakistan. There have been so many attacks against Pakistani military and police, somehow I doubt the extremism in Pakistan is on the decline. The only people people who can save your country from becoming another Afghanistan is you. I know it must be painful for you to see your soldiers die in this manner, but as the saying in India goes, "If you setting trap for others, it won't be long before you fall into that trap one day ".
