  1. Well, I installed the software but not the firmware...then went on a week-long cruise and haven't had a chance to check it with a lot of my programs! In DCS it seems better. I think the FW is the one that's messing with the FFB effects so I'll hold off on that for now.
  2. What's the history of a Viggen in Spain?
  3. I hope it's better than the 2nd one!
  4. I hate having to go back to work!

  5. You know, there are some tribes in the Amazon rainforest that won't let you use a photocopier because they believe it will steal the soul of your documents.
  6. That's the point, actually. Lucas was incredibly frustrated with the original trilogy because he couldn't do things the way he wanted and kept struggling with the available technology to get things done. By the time of the prequel trilogy he had both the tech and the money to do it EXACTLY as he envisioned it...and we got what we got. I remember standing on line for over 2 hrs to see ESB, over a month after release! Two things I remember: they were selling drinks and snacks to people waiting in line, and they were even selling the comic book adaptation Marvel did. I had my parents buy it for me, but they (rightly) said I couldn't read it until after the movie so as not to spoil it. That would've SUCKED had I read about the "I am your father" scene first! The other thing I clearly recall was someone in the line had brought a radio and Gary Nunan's "Cars" was playing. I think it was around 10 years before I heard that song again and realized I hadn't imagined its existence.
  7. A KC-97L! Not too many of them around. In fact, Spain and the US were the only operators. Here's an older pic of that same plane: Ye Olde Tanker
  8. Ah, so those with merged SF2I Expansion installs don't need this.
  9. What difference does sustained g-performance make when the pilots will never use it? Any F-4 or F-14 pilot knew their plane was outmatched by most other fighters in turning battles, so they didn't go there. That's like saying the B-1B is a superior fighter to the B-52 because it has better sustained turn performance. That's true, but irrelevant.
  10. Atlantis home safe, possibly for the last time

  11. Only 200 years?? Sheesh, you're infants compared to us! Let us know when you get to 235 and we'll talk.
  12. Why don't they allow sentences like permanently disabling them so they have to become the very image they tormented?
  13. What kind? Simple. UGLY.
  14. FYI there's a sticky thread at the top of this forum for this very purpose.
  15. For whatever reason, when moving partitions to the left the data inside is moved as well so the empty space is always to the right. That means you'd have to move the very Windows files now in use to do that, so it can't happen. That's why you need a 3rd party util.
  16. I wish I could read that, but my sunglasses have suddenly turned black...
  17. How so? Isn't it obvious the F-4 with 2 seats has an advantage over the 2-seat F-14? I mean, it's the F-4, so it has the advantage, right?
  18. Wow, Kim Jong Il calls his country the "Democratic republic of Germany"? He really is loony!
  19. I think they're focusing on A-stan first as map building is very labor-intensive! Flex and AD are good guys, though, so my only worry isn't quality, it's if the thing gets finished or not.
  20. So is it firmware or software or both? I have the G940 but last time I checked the pre-release software was still the most recent there was. I would've sworn I checked last week...anyway, thanks for the heads up, and I'll think carefully before I install it!
  21. How do you boycott a state?
  22. A good Apache sim, yes! I think Black Shark is a good enough Russian helo sim, I just miss the stuff that is Army Aviation!
  23. My sister was born in 79, and now that she's over 30 I don't think of her as a kid anymore. However, I still can't accept that there are people with drivers licenses out there born after I graduated HS in 1991!
  24. The proper language would be "efforts by global organizations such as the United Nations to undermine international sovereignty." Really, any UN organizations beyond the central one of nations getting together and talking are interfering with nations' internal business and telling them what to do or not to do. Within the first 10 yrs of its existence the UN was shown to be nothing, especially with the "resolution" of the war in Korea...the war that was never ended. Great work, UN! Anyone who wastes their time with UN bashing is just trying to find another enemy. It has zero power and little influence, as nations still do what they want to do. The UN's pronouncements are either pointed to as good (when they support that position, like freeing Kuwait) or ignored or dismissed as the work of unfriendly nations (when they are against it, like Iran's nuclear program). Quite simply the UN never has and never will work. Imagine if your local police department and courts were replaced by you and your fellow citizens. Would you really respect the authority of people who are literally the same as you?
  25. "By that time"? Other than TK's casual sims, Russians are all that are left!
