  1. It doesn't look like it, at least not at first. Later on their plans might change.
  2. Not too farfetched a scenario, although you must admit 6 bombs should still give someone pause. However, Stalin was never totally sane either, he did some pretty outrageous things that no truly sane person would go for, so that's not out of character.
  3. I've only played the 1st campaign so far, but it's definitely been amped up. In addition to the fact that you have a lot more weapons and items to use, the game really cares how many players are in the game. I played with 3 other people and in that one campaign we killed over 2400 zombies!! That's compared to L4D where you'd get just over 1000 on average. The Special Infected were also far more common, think I got 18 smokers MYSELF, not counting the other 3 guys. We even failed one of the levels, #3 I think, our first try...on NORMAL difficulty, and we were all experienced L4D players to varying degrees. All in all, considering I spent $45 on this (and only $25 for L4D on a weekend sale) I think I'll get my $$ worth! I had over 110 hours in L4D, I'll easily pass that here.
  4. *ahem* I still have my F-19 manual, so I can check it tonight, but I seem to recall a lot of that stuff was in there. For a sim that was even more "lite" than TK's WO/SF series, its manual took itself very seriously. Heh, amazing how many different targets that little 20mm cannon could destroy with like 10 rounds, wasn't it?
  5. It's good to have your b-day off...when you can get it!
  6. I had to laugh when on the Daily Show last night they mentioned that the international community has been upset for years over Hu letting the dogs out. "Hu let the dogs out! Hu! Hu! Hu!"
  7. So, do all the kids that flunk out of school end up working for the utility companies over there??
  8. *ponders changing name to CoolNess, but leaves that for a member named "Elliott"*
  9. I take it you have a CH stick then?
  10. I have about a 50% survival rate doing that. Half the time I fly away to fight another day, the other half I either bent/broke the prop or wound up colliding.
  11. Unlike many languages, the reason English works so well as an "international" language is that you can mangle it pretty badly, both in grammar and pronunciation/spelling, and still be understood. Where some languages are vulnerable to the slightest change in intonation altering a word's meaning, English is very resilient to mishandling.
  12. Well, I didn't see this coming.
  13. The last shuttle launch is too far away to know when it will happen.
  14. The bar has been set for Vietnam mods!
  15. Go to nvidia's site and click on the link for beta and archived drivers, right under where you put in your card and OS in the drop-down lists. Grab one of the 18x series drivers. I'm running the 182.5s right now, but the 186s are fine too. Apparently the web is full of complaints about the nvidia 191s. FSAA failing, BSODs in many games, really ugly.
  16. I've got no idea, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Another 12 hours or so before I can try it...
  17. As they pointed out on Jon Stewart's show last night, it's not like they'll get off. Pundits decrying "Oh, what if they get released on a technicality?" to which Jon took out 2 beer bottles and started banging them together saying "KSM...come out and play-ay..." Street justice would be quite swift, so just put him on the streets of NYC.
  18. It was a little disappointing here, too, with some dense cloud cover blocking our view until it was almost a minute after launch. After that we could see it fine, though. Just sad I was here and not at the Cape for some reason yesterday.
  19. It doesn't have to be locked onto you in particular, just transmitting and therefore it should be on the RWR. I've seen them work against all types of radars as well as radar-equipped units like Shilkas.
  20. 48hr Madness deals are always awesome.
  21. Well in Il-2 my favorite kill was to saw the bandit's tail off with my prop, but that's not feasible here. I'll agree that IRM's are my favorite, especially the earlier ones as getting a kill with them was far more difficult than with an R-73 or AIM-9X today. Also since my plane seems to be the size of 5 B-52s stuck together I dislike getting close to planes with tailguns! So many Tu-16s, Tu-22s, and Il-28s have notches on their planes from killing me that I've probably made several bomber gunners aces over the years... Another thing is those bombers generally won't go down from a single IRM hit anyway, and I've even had fighters survive sometimes. The best is when you hit one and it seems to survive, it flies for another few minutes, and as you close in to get a guns kill (I'll never waste a missile on a damaged fighter!) they eject/die in the cockpit and the plane goes down without any more effort on your part!
  22. Worst thing about this plane is the name...it just doesn't flow well! Would be great to finally have it in a sim where it can do its job, though (I'm discounting the MSFS versions that may exist since it can't fight there).
  23. Ah, that's a beta version of Wonder Woman's invisible plane.
  24. L4D2's release is at 0000 11/17 EST, or 2100 11/16 PST, or 0500 11/17 GMT. That means since I work tomorrow, I won't be trying it out till tomorrow night...sigh...

No, the world will end when Congress passes a health care reform bill that actually improves health care and costs the gov't less. So while some think it will happen this year, I think we can confidently predict NEVER.
