I should clarify, I ONLY fly co-op MP! I have no interest in H2H because I also have little time to practice and I play a ton of different games so when I do fly I don't want to be killed in 30 seconds by some guy who does nothing but fly THAT sim for 20+ hrs/week!

So, the consensus then is other than some mildly entertaining co-op that isn't worth the purchase price, this title should be renamed Tom Clancy's S.U.X?

I guess I'm in the minority in that I like games to have both SP and MP, and both to be good of course! Sims like Il-2 annoy me because the AI is so lousy (and I'm not one of those who define AI quality by "whether they shoot me down a lot or I can shoot them down a lot", I define it by believability and historical realism, which IL-2's AI fails in both) for both SP and coop MP, and TW's MP shortcomings have bugged me as well. By contrast, I found CFS3, LOMAC/Flanker, EECH, and F4 to be more balanced. Whether you fly SP or MP only or both, there was something for all 3 groups.

Well, God Emperor is the book following Children of Dune, and I think that would be a hard sell for a movie script.

I liked the premise, but it was too much an uber click-fest for me. I don't think that should be the focus of strategy games, even RTS ones. I'd love to see a WiC-universe game done like CoH, though.

I think Boeing has been moving too slowly. To get anything done takes them years. The delay in the K767 programs for Japan and Italy, the 787, the 747-8, on and on. I think the 777 was their last big hit. It seems buying out McD in the mid-90s really didn't help them, other than giving them things like the C-17 and F/A-18 contracts.

Your best bet is to just keep getting closer. Some aces in the wars waited until they were right on top of the enemy to conserve ammo. I've found if I don't have nose mounted guns I only may be able to hit with left or right guns, but not both...trying to center the target results in "bracketed" fire around the enemy that does little. Mostly, though, it's practice in learning how far the tracers are from you and how much lead you need to pull (assuming here you're not in a oerfect 6 shot since that rarely happens!) to hit. I've got my convergence at 400m I think, which is my max effective range for aiming. Closer than that I am more likely to hit, but again only with left or right guns, not both.

The only issue is if you expect to be able to boot from it, and that is totally dependent on the BIOS on your mobo. Other than that, I've never seen many issues at all with any of them. In fact, in some cases I've found an external over USB2 to be FASTER than the internal one!

Well, I could see making a 747/Shuttle combo, or an An-225/Buran combo. Actually, we have a Bison now and it carried the Buran initially. Does TK's code allow for Mistel-style combinations, where you can hook 2 planes together and then detach? I think Il-2 is the only one that lets you do it right now, and it has some serious issues working right.

Unfortunately, TK is a 1-man show and his resources are far too limited for a complex campaign like you're talking about. I also think it's not possible to mod one that way, only TK has the source code to do it. F4 was the last sim to have a campaign like that...10 years ago. You can change the loadout of each plane in your flight, though.
