FS9 needs some older aircraft carriers
Scout_51 replied to navychief's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
ok,found the info Chief.... The product of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, she was the lead ship of three 45,000-ton Midway class CVBs, followed by USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, CVB-42 and USS Coral Sea, CVB-43. Two additional ships were canceled. Midway's keel was laid on October 27, 1943. The Midway class hull arrangement was modeled on the canceled Montana class battleships and were a new, much larger design intended to correct certain problems in the Essex class design. They had armored flight decks, requiring a much larger hull and lower freeboard, to reduce top weight. They also carried a very heavy AA battery of 5/54 weapons. The armor requirement was originally meant to counter 8" cruiser gunfire, but by the time the ships were laid down the focus had shifted to defending against aircraft attack. I happen like history.. -

I was trying be politically correct!!!! (tho tongue was firm in cheek) guess that stuff is not Me tho lol..you know, what IS sad is that I believe fully in free speech, freedom of the press and ALL those things,as long as they are JUST THAT Free speech it is ok,as long as its politics its ok,but yeah that personal level thing has NO place in this Country..you dont like the guy,ok VOTE him out,if you dont like the guy Offer up REAL things, words,Acts ,deeds..let the VOTER decide things on the FACTS...oh well...

Id not doubt it,the site is pretty Blunt and definetly clear and to the point,no chocolate frosting there... but keep trying, more folks ought to know the truth

LOL LOL LOL....or 'nothing quite as exciting as getting shot at with negative results'.... heres a few more things to pass along.. The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire. Make it tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out. Teamwork is essential. It gives them someone else to shoot at. :D If you can't remember, the claymore is pointed at you.and it does say this side toward enemy lol Never draw fire, it irritates everyone around you.(downright pisses them off) Professional soldiers are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs. The enemy attacks on two ocassions: A) When you are ready for them. B) When you are not ready for them You are not Superman.(tho at times we ALL think we are) If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid. When in doubt empty your magazine.(but make sure you have at least one more fully loaded...) Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than you are.(a #1 Rule!!) Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder. If your attack is going really well, it is an ambush Try to look unimportant because the bad guys may be low on ammo. If you are forward of your position the artillery will fall short. The enemy diversion you are ignoring is the main attack. The important things are always simple. The simple things are always hard. The easy way is always mined. If you are short of everything except enemy, you are in combat. When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.(a Must LOL) Incoming fire has the right of way. Friendly fire - isn't. If the enemy is in range, "SO ARE YOU!!!" Things that must be together to work, usually can't be shipped together. Radios will fail as soon as you need fire support desperately Anything you do can get you shot - including doing nothing. Tracers work both ways.

{Charles W. Sweeney, a retired Air Force general who piloted the plane that dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki in the final days of World War II, has died at 84}..dropping that nuke was a good idea,we knew the japanese would not willingly surrender,we expected over 1/4 million casualties taking the beaches,we also wanted to tell the russians to stand down,if you recall they declared war on japan when they knew where our next beach heads in ww2 were going to be..fallout shelters, yeah remember them, did you tell her bout tuck and roll under the desk?.I pray thgat GOD heard you on nuke weps, that those two would be the only ones, the sad part tho is that sooner or latter we will have a nuke popped in one of our cities by someone chanting 'allah akbar'(unless we do REAL good,we have be good 100%,all those folks have do is get it right ONCE)...

got a newsflash for you, they can Think whatever they want to think, they are NOT robots, the only thing they HAVE to do is respect the OFFICE not the guy in it,same as for rank above them..as for brains,I think they do have them, and use them..their 'petty' electoral persuasion is THEIR RIGHT of FREE SPEECH and association......IF the guy gets elected he WILL get the Respect due to his OFFICE but NO ONE has to like him as a person,THAT goes for ANY politician or General or Admiral...constitutional democracy, gee is that why libs dem and their buds say President Bush was NOT elected? as for mainland china,I think as a American Citizen I have Freedom of Speech,of Thought and of formulating my own ideas,as a Vietnam Veteran I KNOW what the guy DID to harm us,he had EVERY freedom of speech, but if he KNEW about attrocities he ought have brought up CHARGES,if he took part in them he ought be BROUGHT up on them as there is NO statute of limitations on war crimes..a 'fat' paycheck?????? that comment deserves be TOTALLY ignored, those who KNOW know better.as for trailer trash, somehow I NEVER felt I was trash,of ANY kind........yes I agree bout the post, but at times they CAN be interesting,as long as its NOT kept to a personal level, the conversation WAS in generalities, not political ideas but thoughts about a person.....this forum IS rather orderly, adults mostly...actually it is to Protect,Uphold and Defend the CONSTITUTION of the United States against ALL enemies Foreign and Domestic..the folks that set up the constitution were not perfect, they DID leave a few things unsaid, undone(like slavery, being All Men are Created equal),so No I dont know better..
-
Well the problem(or part of it) is that President Bush DID look good in that flight suit!!! lol lol.actually their problems are many, from that guy who said depends on definition of is is we go to this guy who basically told the un and the french to go take a flying f*** thru a rolling donut,we went from a guy saying i dont know that woman to one who told the taliban give the terrorist up or you are gone(and they Are)...then theres the election thing, hell if al baby had won his OWN state he'd proiblly have won, wonder what the folks in tenn know that the rest dont...but basically its a thing bout a Man who looks you IN the eyes when he talks, and IS plain spoken, the libs and their running mates hate that, they want be bs'd to high heaven by one who looks good in sunglasess..I take the plain speaking man of morals over being bs'd anytime..and yes I know the President is a reformed alcoholic,Id rather have that than a convicted Perjurer anytime
-
Well maybe they heard he was one of the people that voted against money to buy needed things(like improved body armor),or they heard from their daddy's what this guy said about vietnam vets,or maybe, just maybe they saw thru him to what he is,a guy that can't make a decision bout a ham sandwich,a guy that will not stand for anything unless the public poll says it has be that or this way..as for you MARINES,I bet your Gunny said Well Done Gyrene,Well Done..
-
I think nick was refering to the fact that a lot of those nations we liberated(for the price of a little piece of land for our dead) DID turn their back on this country, the french definetly a prime example of this..a lot of others tho HAVE been right there with us,I recall working with ROK's in nam,man they did not take crap from charlie or even sir charles, there were also the Thais..in iraq we Do have a lot of countries doing what they can,but yeah some countries have 'used' our power then not even a kiss and GFY...in taiwan there have been a few nice pics of their congress folks fighting on the floor..wonder what would have been said if Dick Chenney had punched leahy in the mouth instead of telling him go do what is natural to leahy and a few others lol....even little ole el salvador and the dominican republic sent troopers to iraq..and yes I stand by what I said, the chicoms would have a difficult time taking on the ROC's..
-
LOL LOL you mean you dont recall fondly those 72hr days? the flight quaters to flight quaters days??? the 3 week old bologna 'sandwiches'? the sliders???? the moving of weps from one little tight corner to another during middle of night with light security on????? the everyone load the a-6s and the buffs??????????
