  1. the AF is searching for something they can call their own. To establish some history. Unfortunetly they are looking in the wrong place with this uniform. Storm P.S. I'm going to request that I test it here, to show them that it will not work in this environment, during my CST courses. in other words they want to be the 3rd service with a distinctive uniform..in a time of low budgets I think Sec Def would rather use the money used to develop those 3 uniforms and put it into quality of living and in retirees....nothing wrong with pride, but to forget the people is not pride.....
  2. The firm has also received complaints from opponents of the war and war veterans, who believe the US leader does not meet the criteria for a military hero, citing the fact that he did not serve in Vietnam but rather in the Texas Air National Guard. this was at the web site you mentioned, guess its a brit site? somehow I dont believe that that many Real Vets would complain about having a President such as Mr Bush,it sure beats the hell out of that other guy that was in my white house..guess his figure would be a two for one thing, one sitting, one on err err...at very least President George SERVED,instead of going to england to organize 'peace' protests...and we All in the military and Viet vets also DO know National Guard units DID serve i nam...and yeah Mad Jeff Id get it myself.. :D
  3. not Yet........... :D
  4. and he can run a short campaign.............

  8. want its fine with me, but I still have SF on my HDD and cant play it because I own a radeon card interesting.. I also have a radeon card and have had no prob running the sim....what made this sim great was the same reason that eaw is still on my h/d,they are excellent sims, decent support and man o'man those mods.....
  9. actually I think other than the canoe under the ra type the birds pretty much looked the same.....now internally that's another kettle of rivets
  10. they might have been saying AirBorne Rangers.....AirBorne being the one thing ALL s/f' have as a common thing...as for pj's,yeah I would say it took big brass ones to jump out of a perfectly good helo(by the way no such as things a perfectly good airplane or helo lol) over north viet-nam or whatever l.z they are at....then of course you have the LRRP's but I think that is a acronym from another land, another lz....

    thought id post this... http://members.aol.com/stlthdrvr1/pilot.html
  12. [Always felt it should have been retained in service. It sure could carry a load of bombs, eh? The bombmeister...hehehehe. ] oh yeah, hell yeah, the mini b-52..lets see 5 mers,6 on each one..two squadrons on the deck pointing towards the pointy end of the boat, yep hell of a sight...fun to load too.. I have often wondered if any of the F-4s or A-6s are owned by private individuals now. I know that A-4 Skyhawks are popular, but perhaps the Phantoms and Intruders are too expensive to maintain there is a f-4 civilian owned, usually flown by brig gen steve ritchie, yep the one from nan,the air force ace..and yes the question I guess is still being talked about,is the pilot the ace or the rio?...
  13. and the viggie would put a hell of a show at night burners kicking in,come to think of it it did same thing in daylight...
  14. It certainly has lasted the test of time. When I was at Pax River in 73, it was a new aircraft. and now off it goes to museums...hell of a fate, the birds could have stuck around a long while if they had done the upgrades it needed, lot cheaper than buying hornets, which Im not that imppresed with...same fate with the intruder, now that made a hell of a show on deck with 4 loaded mers...
  15. [The A-3D Skywarrior (or known by many as the "SkyWhale) had a history of crashes on carriers. When a "Whale" would come in for a landing, you would see everyone head for the catwalks!] not to mention the way the nose went around,up down.....lol
  16. [Can you imagine being the guy selected to pull that one off? lol but he did, kudos to that guy. ] If I recall what I had read about it,it was jimmy tatch...if so he definetly WAS outstanding choice...

How do you confuse a French Soldier? A: Give him a rifle and ask him to shoot it Not bad,not bad..cept there's One french unit that does rather well at fighting..french foreign legion..then again they are foreigners huh...
  18. All I got to say is Thank You! for BOTH serving this great Free Country and for the sweet birds...
  19. [Gone are the days of Spitting on troops comming home from pure hell and calling them baby killers] If you were lucky you only got spit on,if not you had doggy doo thrown..luckly in my neighborhood in brooklyn the folks were rather nice to us,you could not buy a beer in the local bar/club..but yes thank god the kids coming back now will not see anything like that, their dads and moms can show real pride..
  20. The man was known for his seamanship, sense of tactics, and sense of humor oh yeah, definetly loved his books..liked the one where there was this sub and war games, the sub skipper did not want to surface as a kill, what happened then? a ensign suggested dropping a anchor on them lol..or the blues flying upside down towards a plane..yeah the man was wired right...
  21. [Yep they're effective as hell but the cost to human life may be unacceptable. ] depends..thats why they are told park their vehicles walk away?..a cbu is a lot cheaper(I think) than a guided munition...that site says the body count is 4065 at low end,5223 at high end..actually that is a rather amazing LOW count, considering all the weapons that were used...and they saying ity's civilians, are they counting the ones shot by saddams troops as they were retreating?..
  22. Too much of the plot was unrealistic and, to me, that means a lot. The beachhead scene was exellent Oh I dont know, makes one wonder what would have happened if the sullivans would have had a brother in the eto.....as for the beach-head,yeah it did give one a sense for the cojones it took for those guys to start liberating the louses..err french....
