  1. F-100D "Air Pirate"

    F-100D, Air Pirate

    -- For FULL-4 Merged SF2 (Prefered) and/or SF2:E/V =ONLY!!!= --

(Can be used in any SF2 install that has the access to the F-100D)

    A "just for fun" mod . . .

This package represents aircraft from the fictional Post-WWIII world of the novel series "The Wingman", by Mack Maloney.
These are F-100D SuperSabres as flown by either Air Pirates, or a Freelancer ('guns for hire/Mercenaries').

This package comes with 2 skin sets:

"The Stukas" infamous Air/Ground Pirate gang that operated in Westen New Jersey, parts of New York, eastern Pennsylvania, parts of Ohio and that general region.

A Plane-Jane natural metal for generic usage.

This mod creates a new, stand-alone aircraft (not exported, with no other user). It is best used in a stand-alone mods folder that is based on the post-WW3 world of "The Wingman". Although, it may fit into the 'alternate' world of the Global Sedition vs the North American Alliance. (as do many of my terrain mods)

Loadouts have been adjusted to reflect the 'lack' of sophisticated weapons in the Post-WW3 world (especially for the 'Bad Guys'), and include a 'nation-specific' AirPirate AIM-9B. The canopy has been set to use a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close it.

As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).
Again, as usual, the expected "Notes & Ramblings of a Mad(Wing)man" section for fun.

    Go Git 'em!

These are F-104G Starfighters as flown by either Air Pirate, or a Freelancer ('guns for hire').

This package comes with a single skin set; A Garish Red/Yellow, as described in the first book. Those wishing other skins are advised to extract the USAFSilver1 and drop it into the main skin folder. Other, more "unusual" skins may be forthcoming. Depends on End User ™ demand, and my free time. Other than the 'pirate' badges, there are no other markings.

This is a COMPLETE aircraft package, including the Zipper's cockpit and the hi-rez repaint by Batman1978; all is ready to just unzip, install and fly. The avionics ini has been modified to give you an 'audio-only' RWR.

This package comes with 2 skin sets; one Natural Metal for the 'deconstruction era', after WW3 and during the time The Aerodrome was established and Fitz began building up business (so to speak), and a 3-tone camo, most likely used during The Circle War and and beyond.

  4. Replacement "nose" skin bmp for Warbirds Phantom

    Replacement texture for "Warbirds" F-4E_86:

After I'd uploaded it, Dave noticed the very tip of the nose and the pitot tube were painted incorrectly.

This replacement f-4e_5.bmp will fix that, adding the black at the very tip.

Instructions for use (as no readme is included) A screenshot can be seen in this thread:

    http://combatace.com/topic/62412-phantom-tail-markings/page__view__findpost__p__474058

Unzip to a tempfolder or dessktop or where that's easy to find.

Then, simply copy/paste the f-4e_5.bmp into EACH of the 3 skin folders (377,378,379) Allow for the overwrite.

    that'll fix ya' right up!

sorry for the slight incovience! And thanks to Dave's much-sharper-than-mine eyes.

  5. Country Flag Set for Terrains #1

    Country Flag Pak #1 -

= For SF/WoV/WoE/WoI/FE, and all SF2/FE2 series terrains

This includes MANY of the country flags that I've used on several terrain mods, more or less packaged together for other budding Terrain Engineers ™, and any other that might need them, to add to whatever terrain they might fit on. Many of these are already out, in the myriad of terrains mods I've done. But this will make it a bit easier to find them. There are also many being held back, for use on forth-coming terrains (Central America, for example) Some are used on terrain still 'in the works', but being released here anyway (examples: India-Pak, Iran/Iraq).

The lods and inis are all in ANSI, making the fully usable in ALL 3rdWire games.

This pak includes (with their actual part name): Listed in no particular order.....

    - WW1:

Imperial Germany - IGFlag (good for First Eagles)
RFC - RFCFlag (WW1 Royal Flying Corp -uses RFFlag.bmp)

    Nazi Germany - 3rflag (swastika)
Italy (fascist) - itflag (House of Savoy sheild)
USA - USFlag (48 stars -good until 1959)

    - Post-WW2 and Later:

    USA - AMFlag (50 stars)
    Iraq - IQFlag
    Israel - isflag
    Egypt - egflag
NATO - NOFlag (Yes, "NO" should be Norway, I'll that that one probably as NW)

    Playboy Bunny - pbflag
    West Germany - GWFlag

    Australia - OZFlag
    Saudi Arabia - SDFlag
SEATO - SEATOF (South-East Asia Treaty Org)

    South Vietnam - SVFlag
    Pakistan - PKFLag
    Qatar - QTFlag
    Bahrain - BHFlag

I know I had others, but can't seem to find them! I can always remake them, or make new ones to "fill in the blanks" (especially for Europe ... a LOT more will be/ARE needed)

It is ALSO highly reccomended you READ this entire document through before trying to use the parts included in this package. If you don't, you're SURE to run into problems. And then, we'll clown on you. HARD, and mercilessly. Because we're just that way

  6. WW1 Palestine Ini HotFix

It seems that I inadvertently removed the QHuts from the types ini.
Also, the Ashqelon fuel dump was too far inland.

This pak will fix that...it's the

    Palestine_targets.ini
    and
    Palestine_types.ini

A couple of destroyed effects, in the types ini, have also been 'repaired' (ie: spelling eroor)

Just unzip to a temp folder, your desktop or directly to the /Palestine terrain folder. Allow for the overwrite.

My sincere apologies for this mistake!!!

  7. MiG-9 Fargo (upgraded for SF2)

MiG-9 "Fargo" -Update Pak for SF2 (all, merged or not)

This is a "minor" rebuild of the flight model for this 1st Generation Soviet Jet fighter by Timmy. It borrows heavliy from other work; I've just tried to combine and adjust to get it a little better (it's like around 110% better than it was!)

Everything has been tweeked to SF2 standards; folderized decals for the PLAAF skins, use of stock in-game decals for Soviet Borts (and some other decal tweeks), the 260gallon/900 liter drop tanks, my semi-craptastic "PilotER" (we really do need a new early soviet jet pilot figure!) and the 'migengine' sound borrowed from TMF's MiG-21F, a new SF2-style hangar screen, and cockpit (modded from Kesselbruts Spitfire pit, called "1JetCockpit", that while not perfect, works pretty damn good). Instruments are still in English characters, but have been converted to metric readings in the cockpit ini.

This is a complete aircraft, ready to unzip and fly away. While the flight modeling is VASTLY improved, it could still use a little fine-tuning. I welcome compentent modders to take this one, and bring it all the way home.

As always full, detailed install instruction are included in the pack, so READ them!!

  8. II/JG51 skin for MontyCZ's S-99 (109G6)

    II/JG-51 Skin for MontyCZ S-99

    For SF2 WW2 MTO/ETO installs

A fairly simple skin for Monty's S-99 (here representing the Bf-109G-6) as used in North Africa/MTO theatre by Jg-51. Simple, because II/JG51 didn't seem to use any stab marking or ID numbers, making this an easy skin.

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed (and very simple in this case) instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install.

  9. Mistubishi F-1 HUD Fix Pak

Mitsubishi F-1 Avionics HotFix For SF2

    = For SF2, Full-4 Merged = ONLY!! =

Updates for my recently released SF2 mod of the Mistubishi F-1 by Veltro2k.

This package will update several main inis, giving the aircraft a full, complete working HUD with CCIP, IRM markers and other cool stuff.

As this mod makes use of several items that are 'borrowed' from inside several different ObjectData.cats, it is absolutely =NOT= compatable or downgradable for 1st Gen SF/SFG/WoV/WoE usage.

The full aircraft, to which this HotFix is to be applied can be found at the URL below:

    http://combatace.com/files/file/11175-jasdf-mitsubishi-f-1-for-sf2/

Again, this is for SF2, a full-4 merged install ONLY!!!

As always, read the simple instructions included in the 'readme'.

  10. MiG-21MF, Fuerza Aérea Ejército de Nicaragua

MiG-21MF Fishbed-J, Fuerza Aérea Ejército de Nicaragua

For SF2 only, Full-4 Merged (or possibly unmerged) Game installs

Just a little something I started a couple of years ago; thought I'd just go ahead and finish it off.

Represtents fictional MiG-21MF Fishbed-Js, had they actaully arrived and gone into serivice with the Nicaraguan Air Force. This mod makes use of pretty much all stock items; weapons and so forth (excepting the cockpit by Palandrin), just using ini edits to create this "What If..." bird. It is a Nationalized, non-exported, single user aircraft. A new hangar screen, SF2 style only, is incuded. The canopy has also been activated via an animation key, use Shift/0 to open and close it.

It'll probably work in ANY install, merged or not, as the 21MF is pretty much a stock- in-all versions aircraft. It may even work in SF/Wo* at the 08 patch level, but this has =NOT= been tested. Some minor editing, to remove the UserList callout, and some changes in the Data ini will be necessary for 1stGen usage. All inis are saved in ANSI, for ease of possible backdating. This has NOT been tested, however, and you do so at your own risk; no support will be available from this modder. Be advised, the data ini IS setup ONLY for SF2, making use of several SF2-only avionics statements and flight modeling.

As always, read the enclosed readme text for fairly easy to follow install instructions, and a historical/semi-historical background in the "Notes" section.

    Happy Landings!

  11. Mirage 3C PN (Panama Servicio Aérea Nacional)

Dassault Mirage IIIPN, Servicio Aérea Nacional (Panama National Air Service) 7/20/09

    -- For SF2 Full-4 Merged Installs !ONLY! --

This is a mod of the stock 3W MirageIIIC into a "What If..." MirageIIIPN if used by the Panama Air Force. It makes use of various stock lods, cockpit, and cockpit bits that are ONLY in a full-4 merged install. It is also completly non-usable in any 1stGen versions of 3W games due to extensive use of various lods, inis and tgas ONLY available in a Full-4 Merged install.

Extensive editing of all the inis created a 'mix-match' of old and new; old airframe with modern avionics. All weapon fits, excepting the R-530F are stock. I've included the R-530F (and variants), for those that don't have Gunny's Ordanance Shop installed. The canopy has also bee activated, use Shift/0 to open and close it.

You =will= be extracting the Nations.ini, to add the new nation of Panama. Instructions are below, in the "To Install" section.

As always, it's reccomended -no, REQUIRED- that you read the enclosed document through before installing this mod. If you are unfamiliar with any procedures, post questions in either the Release Announcment Thread, the regular CA forums, or via PM to me. It really isn't all that hard.

  12. 3rd Wire Parking Enforcement Vehicle

3rd Wire Productions, Parking Enforcement Vehicle

    = For SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and all SF2 games =

This is a modification of RussoUK's VW 'Follow Me' van into a, well, "ticket tagger".

What started out as a joke in the SF2 forums, about not having enough parked aircraft; someone had made a comment about "maybe they'd been towed away for illeagly parking", grew into this little mod.
It still uses the basic yellow/black checkerboard skin, with the addition of 'identifer placards' on the roof, front, back and sides of the vehicle. Yes, the front ID Placard IS supposed to reversed, just as one sees on other Emergency Vehicles.

The vehicle's nationality has been set to "GENERIC", so it can be used by both sides. It's GroundObjectRole has also been set to TRANSPORT, which will allow it to show up on ARMED_RECON missions. If this is unwanted, I'd reccomend changing it to RECON, in the data ini.

Fairly simple install instruction are included; with data for Terrain builders as well, on how to include them scattered around maps as sort of an 'Easter Egg'.

Have fun with it!! And remember the 3W Parking Enforcement Bureau's Mottos:
    "Move It, Or Lose It"

and, BTW, the fines associated with the ticket and towing are EXPENSIVE!!! They go up with the size of the aircraft towed. Plus storage....

    Enjoy!

    F-104 Hangar screen for SF2

This is a modification of the stock, SF/Wo* F-104G hangar screen to match the format used in SF2.

It's a rather simple addon, but adds just that little 'something' for you to look at whilst in the Hangar.

These screens can also be used on the CF-104, CF-104_72 and CF-104_76.

  14. 3rdW P-51 Decals and Ini Tweek Pak

3rd Wire SF2 P-51D, USAF Decal Fix, and Data ini Tweeks

    =For SF2, Full-4 Merged Installs and/or SF2:I, with Expansion Pak 1=

This VERY small mod to the P-51D from SF2 Expansion makes a couple of changes to the stock USAFSilver1 skin, adding the tail tag to the vert fin, and NationName to the wings, as is Historically Correct ™ after October, 1947.

The data ini tweeks add a landing light, the 3 formation lights under the starboard wing, and activate the canopy via a manual animation key (shift/0).

A ww2 pilot figure is included, as I used this figure in the data ini. More appropriate figures would be either of Deigo's USAF50s figures, as by 1948, USAF pilots had done way with the soft leather helmets, and were using the new 'bone domes'. These ARE reccomended replacements.

Full, easy to follow instructions are included. You =WILL= be adding a new pilot folder, and a new sub-folder to the game's main /Decals folder for the "U.S. AIR FORCE" tail tag decal.
As always, it's reccomended you read this document through before installing. It's actually QUITE simple, for a change!! <grin>

  15. Republic P-47D-25 Thunderbolt, 1 GAC, Força Aérea Brasileira, Italy 1944

Republic P-47D-25 Thunderbolt, 1 GAC, Força Aérea Brasileira, Italy 1944

    = for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2: MTO Installs =

For Wolf257s "BubbleTop Jug", this skin and decal set represents the FAB squadron as seen when attached to the USAAF 350th FG, 12th Air Force in Italy during WW2.

The skin accuratly represents the colors and marking of 1oGAVCA, with correct Flight call letter/numbers, and with the excpeting of 5 or 6 serial numbers, the acutal aircraft as flown by them at the time. The only departure from pure historicality, is that the Squadon Command and Squadron Executive Officer flew aircraft left in their natural metal finsh, which is here shown in the OD/Gray. Sorry about that, folks! So, historical ratting drops to about 94-95%, due to that fact, and the 'missing' serial numbers. Rest assured, however, the serial shown are for the proper sub-variant of the Jug.

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions. As this is simply a add-on skin/decal set, you shouldn't have any problem installing it.

  16. WW2 Midway Terrain Upgrade/Enhancement Pak

Midway Terrain Enhancement/Rebuild Pak, For WW2 PTO Installs

    = For SF/SFG/WoV/WoE = for 06 Patch Levels ONLY! =

This originally started out as a 'quick fix' for some small issues, that for some reason, grew into a Major Overhaul ™!! So, this became an ENTIRE terrain mod, fully equiped with (almost) all items necessary. You'll still need some of the ships supplied with Gepard's Original Terrain ™. Hopefully, you have it around somewheres ....

The data ini has been upgraded to the semi-latest standards (ie: 2006 patch level at minimum, also usable in 08). Water effects are active, so Vista users beware...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users". While not designed for use in 08 or SF2 level games, it is quite easily adaptable with minor changes to the data ini. Consult the CombatAce Knowledge Base or the several hundred threads on the matter.... But, as always, due to the WW2 aircraft "flight model issue", is NOT reccomended.

The targets ini has gone through a semi-major overhaul as well, combining an eariler version, with Gepards Release Version. Essentlly what I did was scrap several target areas on Sand and Eastern, and then 'filled' in the blanks. This was done to try and control "target area overlap" that made it difficult to move or place objects in semi-historical positions (and it's still not quite right, but closer!)

A new planning map has been generated (1 level only), and the tiles have been cleaned up a bit. Also several new and edited versions of existing tiles have been created to try and smooth thing out a bit. All new tile-specific _HM.bmps have also been created, to create a 'hard surface' ground. A new 'waternormal.bmp' is also included, as are all the newly added Terrain Objects. And there are now trees...lots and lots of trees on the islands...

Included are the WW2 Formations ini, and the WW2 Nations ini, as it seems that some folks can't find them

= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WW2 WEAPONS PAK FOR THE WW2 WEAPONS!! =

It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, (mostly my WW2 WoE PTO install - the best version to use, IMHO) using each of their cats pointed to in the main ini. As most of the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line). It has NOT been tested in 08 1st Gen SF/Wo* -expecially WoI- or any of the SF2 series. Most likely, it would be unusable due to the airfield size being 'small', and runnning out of runway for jets.

Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. It's HIGHLY reccomended you read this document completly through before installing this mod

  17. DBS Water Fix

    DBS Water Upgrade/Update for SF/Wo* (08+) and SF2

This is a little package contains newly rebuilt sea and sea/land transition tiles for Major Lee's "Bering Straits" terrain, and is designed for use on the enhanced targets upgrade I released Nov, 2008. It can be used on either the original OR the upgrade. If you don't have the upgrade, it's available at the following URL:

    http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/7684-bering-straits-terrain-targets-upgrade/

What this package is, are all the 'waterish' tiles rebuilt with new alpha channels, thereby allowing for more water action to be visible (even with all that cursed ice!!). A new waternormal bmp is also included, for enhanced wave action.

It has been tested in all 1st Gen Sims (SF/WoV/WoE/ at 10/08 patch levels) and SF2 (merged, 2/10 patch, withOUT SF2:I).. But, as I'm on XP, I can't take advantage of the DX10 shaders....

As always, READ the enclosed readme FIRST for full, detailed instructions for BOTH 1st and NextGen sims game installs. It reccomened you read this document through before installing to either SF/Wo* or SF2 series, to make sure you know what's to be done, and how to do it.

Consider this as my birthday present to all of YOU!!

ps: the screenie above was taken in SF2, with me piloting that CF-104 (easily made flyable), so I know it do work in NextGens!! I'd like feedback from our Vista/Win7 DX10 users, with screenies if possible, so I can see it looks OK there, as well.

  18. GermanyCE Road Tiles for TE Usage

GermanyCE Road Tiles - for use with Terrain Editor =ONLY=

This little mod, as stated above is for use with the WoE terrain editor ONLY. It will allow Terrain Engineers a MUCH easier time in trying to place and link the various road tiles, without going crosseyed and blind in the process.

What's been done, is after extracting the stock road tiles, I've painted the actual 'road region' a bright yellow (as seen in the accompanying screen shot). Now, when you load you textureset, the roads will show up so' s you can see them.

As always, unzip to a temp folder somewheres that easy to find, and READ the enclosed readme for full, easy to follow instructions for useage

Have Fun -- this'll help keep you sanity (just a little bit!)

  19. P-38J Lightning, 20th FG, 8th AF, ETO

    P-38J Lightning, 20th FG, 8th AF, ETO

This is a semi-complete aircraft mod, recreating the J Model Lightnings as used in the ETO in 1943/44 by the 20th FG.
I say 'semi-complete', because as per Wolf's wishes, the aircraft LOD file is NOT included. However, everything else is.
You =MUST= have Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak to copy the P-38H.LOD that this mod requires

This package includes skins/decal sets for the 3 squadrons of J models Lightnings that composed the 20th FG, up until they converted to Mustangs at the beginning of 1945. Unfortnately, Invasion stripes are NOT painted on; this is a simpler, cleaner version for either before OVERLORD or after, when they were removed (ok, I'll admit it...I was just too lazy to actually plot their positions, and paint them on the skin bmp. Ya got me!!<grin>). I give this set a rating of 98.6% for historical accurary, for with the excepetion of approx 6 aircraft between the 3 squadrons, every single serial number has been matched to it's aircraft, based on the radio-call/Plane-in-Group letter. These other serials, while regarded as 'filler', ARE actual serials issued to aircraft assigned to the squadrons of the 20th, but that had no particular call letter, or the letter was undiscoverable. But rest assured, these are 100% accurate serials for J Models, as used by the 20th.

    The 3 squadrons represented are:

    55th FS
    77th FS
    79th FS

On the loadout screen, each squadron is represented by the Squadron Patch as the Paint Chip. It should be noted the 55th and 77th are done up in OD/Neutral Gray and the 79th is in Natural Metal. Every marking or color blob you'll see on these aircraft -is- a decal, excpeting the anti-glare panel on the 79th skin. There is nothing painted on anywheres. Unfortunately, there is no nose art, due to a) not being able to find good examples per each aircraft, and b) decal bleed on the nose mesh.

As stated, this is a complete pak, minus the LOD, that incluces the cockpit (with a new N-3 gunsight tga), and all the inis, including my experimental 'updated' data ini with some small flight model tweeks. Damage tgas are included. It is designed for use ONLY in 06 level SF/SFG/WoV/WoE. It has NOT been tested in in 08 1st Gens or SF2 Series sims. You use it in these enviroments at your own risk, and completly unsupported by me. You are on your own. (btw, for you nut jobs that don't listen, and actually DO fly this is 08 or SF2, I'd like feedback on 'how it feels'. I actually HAVE flown it in an 08 install, and it felt 'pretty good'. This may hold us until the AvHistory Guys get us realistic FMs)

You MUST also have the WW2 Weapons Pak, available at CombatAce at the following URL:

    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=8495

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions.

  20. P-47D-20, 61st FS, 56th FG

    P-47D-20 (Razorback), 61st FS, 56th FG Skin for SF/SFG/ WoV/ WoE, WW2 ETO Installs

A reskin for Wolf's Razorback Jug, depicting aircraft from the 61st FS of the Famed 56th FG as seen in late 43 through early 45 (depending if the Razorbacks were still on inventory or not!)

This skin depicts the OD/Gray paint scheme, but NOT with D-Day Invasion Stripes. It's just a rather standard ETO paint job, without the color diferentiation between the squadrons (as it didn't seem to be used, or had been replaced with regular paint, according to my references)
Decals are included for 26 aircraft, letters A-Z, with serial numbers matched as close as possible to the actual aircraft they were used on. Some nose art is also included; again as close as possible to Real Life ™. Given some inaccuracies, I'd be forced to rate this as somewhere between 90-95% historically accurate.

Also included are an updated data & loadout inis, with corrected light placements (formation, landing, tail, etc).

This mod has NOT been tested in 08 level 1st Gens or ANY SF2 NextGens. There are some issues with flight models and
other things that haven't been resolved as of yet. If you insist on using this mod in said environments, you're on you own. No assistance is available from me for any issues you will encounter.

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed and fairly east to follow install instructions.

  21. SBD-3, VS-41 'Operation Torch' Ver.2

    SBD-3 Dauntless, VS-41 "Operation Torch"

Skin and Ini Pak for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE MTO Installs (06 Level ONLY)

    Version 2

This skin represents aircraft from VS-41 "Tophatters" as seen aboard USS RANGER during Operation Torch, the Invasion of North Africa.

This is a complete and utter replacement/revamp of a skin I released 2005; it has been completely redone using my
enhanced template, repainted in the proper Non-Specular blue/gray, and has all new decals of the proper font re-created.

All new Modex/Plane-in-Group numbers for 18 aircraft, 'generic' BuNums and aircraft type name decals have also been
made. I say 'generic', as they ARE SBD-3 BuNums, but could find no information on the aircraft assigned VS-41 during Torch.

A new 'carrier deck' hangar screen, more specific for TORCH, is also included.

Included is a modified data ini, with a 1942 start year, for use in a MTO =ONLY= style install. More info is below in the 'To Install' section.

-= NOTE: You MUST have the WW2 Weapons Pak from CombatAce to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-

-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE 06-patch levels (actually 06 WoE) of the aformentioned sims. It has NOT, however been testing in the SF2 Series. But it if works in 08, it works there, too.. There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED improvement!! You use it in these Post Patch/SF2 Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions. It's also required that you actually READ the enclosed readme....

  22. PBY-5A Catalina, Generic USN, 1942-43

Consoladated PBY-5A, Generic USN 1942/43 Skin and Ini Tweeks Pak

-For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs (and maybe SF2, too!)

A reskin, redecaling and some ini mods for Veltro2K Catalina amphib/flying boat.

The skin, made from pappychksix's EXCELLENT template (meaning: I didn't have to repaint anything!), represents the 'generic' style used by the US Navy from May 1942 to approx Sept 1943. That is to say, the standard non-specular blue over gray. New decals have been created for the US Star, now in all six positions, individal Modex, BuNums and the aircraft ID tag. ALL markings seen in the accompanying screenshot ARE decals!

Several Ini edits, and a new avionics ini, tweek some weapons placements & loadouts, control movements, and to simulate the ASV radar that was standard on all new build -5As from approx July/August 42. Full details of the modifications/tweeks are elaborated in the "Notes" section below.

A new WoE-style hangar screen is also included (something I failed to do for Veltro for the initial release! My apologies!). A new damage tga is also included.

=IMPORTANT: You WILL need the WW2 Weapons Pak (or equlivant BunyPak of 06) to get the WW2 weapons, bombs and such. (but you should already have that, yes??)
The WW2 Weapons Pak is available at CombatAce at the following URL:

    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=8495

As always, unzip this to a temp folder somwhere, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It is VITALY important you read this document through FIRST before installing this mod, as you'll be backing up several of the inis.

  23. F9F Panther, VMF-311, Korea

F9F-2/2B/5 Panther, VMF-311, Korean War Era skin 12/11/09

=For SF/SFG/WoV/WoE and probably for SF2 series sims

This package is an upgrage/replacement skin and decal set for the VMF-311 skin that comes with Pasko's original F9F-5 Panther release package.

The skin repesents VMF-311 flying in Korea. What has been done, basiclly, is simply create all new decals for Modex, BuNum/manufacturers ID/Service call out, and other items. The skin bmps themselves ARE still the same ones as issued with the release package from 2004. You'll have numbers, etc for 24 aircraft. Also included, is a 'clean-Nose.bmp', as historical, photographic evidence points to only ONE aircraft having the face painted on (Personally, I LIKE the face!). Instructions on how to switch to the clean nose are below in the "To Install" section.
It should be noted at this time, my researches have shown a more-or-less mixed bag of models as used by 311; so the BuNums/ID tag reflects this -- some will be labeled F9F-2B, some as F9F-5. Rest assured, the BuNums ARE correct for the models indicated (other than the 2/2B having a shorter tail fin). I can, unfortunatly, only claim 100% accuracy for modex #s 2, 6, and 16, as these can be clearly seen in photos in the sources listed below. The rest should be considered as 'filler'.

As always, unzip this archive to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere else that's easy to find, to gain access to the rest of this readme, for full, simple-to-follow (for once!) instructions.

  24. Pasko's Yak-3RD

Yak-3RD pak -includes upgrades for 08 Patch Level and SF2 Sims

Fulfilling a request to make the aircraft available again, as the links at Pasko's Mostly MiGs and Etc seem to have disappeared.

    Some ini mods are:
    moving the cockpit up slightly to hide some gaps;
A Soviet WW2-style PB1 gunsight tga (from Pappa Romeo's EAW sight pack)
    VERY small FM tweeks for 08+ level games (btw, a few more tweeks are necessary hint-hint to our FM guys);
Canopy is now operational via an animiation key (Shift/0)
A new WoE-style Hangar screen (didn't have one before)
The "CRSPRP.wav" in-line engine sound -- has a nice V-12 buzz (used on many WW2 mods)
Damage tgas for that 'shot full of holes' look

Included are a second data and loadout ini, for an "operational" interceptor version, in the "What If..." worlds, with the additon of 2 nose 12.7 machine guns, ala the standard Yak-3. An 'operational' Loadout ini, with the additon of drop tanks is included. Instructions for swapping them out are below in the "To Install" section. Sort of an experiment I performed.

I've also included a 2nd skin for the 'operational' variant, which is a basically the gray/blue skin from the Yak-3. Be advised of some small mapping issues, as this skin really wasn't designed for this LOD.

Pasko's original readme is also included

Note: for the 'operational' variant, I've used as much stock weapons as possible; even the guns are pure 3W stock. However, the drop tanks used are the 75 gallon Mustang ones; so you might need one or another of the various Weapons Pak available to get them. They are NOT included.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI (mostly 08 Level WoE). Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.

As always, unzip this to a temp folder somwhere, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. Of course, the usual 'Notes and Ramblings' section

With thanks to Pasko for creating this interestering little aircraft!

    Wrench

    NOTE:
I didn't assign a NATO codename to the aircraft for several reasons:
    1) Couldn't really think of one; even with those assigned to other experimental birds that didn't go into production, or Lend-Lease aircraft that went out-of-serivce rather quickly after WW2, and
    2) The ones I'd thought of, while being rather descriptive (what with that rocket engine in the tail and all) probably wouldn't get used, even in 'impolite' company (well for a couple I came up with, at any rate). If you want to know what they were, just ask!
End users are encourged to come up with one, and let everyone know.

  25. F9F Panther, VF-781, Korea

F9F-2/2B/5 Panther, VF-781, Korean War Era skin 12/11/09

=For SF/SFG/WoV/WoE and probably for SF2 series sims

This package is a complete redecaling for Marcfighter's F9F Panther skin, representing VF-781 during the Korean War. For Historical Correctness ™, a 'new' aircraft should be created, but there are some fairly major physical & other differences between the F9F-2/2B and the F9F-5 that we have. We'll just pretend they got the -5s a little early, or pretend these are -2Bs, as all the BuNums/ID tage decals I've created ARE for -2/2Bs. Mmmkay?

The original Marcfighters skin bmps ARE included -so full credit MUST be given to him on this-, with all new decals for 24 aircraft (this MAY not be historically correct, but photographic evidence exists showing #121 in flight over Korea). The new decal are the Modex, BuNum/ID tag, and the Air Wing letter. I reused one or two of Marcello's original decals. Chalk it up to laziness...

As always, unzip this archive to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere else that's easy to find, to gain access to the rest of this readme, for full, simple-to-follow (for once!) instructions.

With special thanks (you can't say it enough!) for Marcello for creating this skin in 2004!!
