As it turned out, the plane had generator trouble and was on it's way from Billund (DK) via Nordholz to Niederrhein (ex RAF Laarbruch).
The pilot, a 67 year old Briton, was told by Airtraffic Controll (Dutchmil)NOT to land at Twenthe (the field being closed since 2008) but a nice and fully intact 9000ft runway is not available everywhere.
The pilot had a license allright but no type rating for the T-Bird.
He had to spend the night at the police station (!) and was set free only this afternoon (!!!!!!)
Guess he must have been a VERY dangerous and utterly criminal type........
I think, given the circumstances, he simply did a very good job !!!!
Hou doe,
