He died on the 29th of January at the age of 96. This Ace shot down 6 Japanese bombers in less than 8 minutes but the fact he only used 360 some rounds was even more amazing. He was a master marksman in the air. He would fire short 5 second bursts right where the rounds needed to go. He had a habit of racking up multiple kills in single missions while some pilots were trying just to get one. He was one hell of a fighter pilot. RIP sir.

There is no easy answer to this. There was no CCIP back then, it was all dive bombing and math. I have practiced on the range terrain many many many times to get the right feel and have been able to hit targets. So the short answer is practice.
