With the all aspect/off boresight capability of the AIM-9X and the Python 5, a rear firing missile is no longer needed. As far as the IRIS-T and A-Darter are concerned, the AIM-9X and the Python 5 are already, HMD etc. The IRIS-T and A-Darter are playing catch up.

Sure can, delete the old pit, copy the MF pit over, then copy over the cockpit.ini and the avionics.ini from the aircraft you took the pit from. Make sure you rename them to this.... F-16C_COCKPIT F-16C_AVIONICS Then you are set. They are not the most correct pits but until we get a later pit that is what I do.

I didn't write it either. I just cut and pasted it.

I tried that and ended up hitting the dirt. It does have merit but its not for a rookie pilot.
