Yes, DOSBox runs just fine on XP...in fact, it was built for XP. MS took DOS out when they made XP, hence the need for a DOS emulator. If I recall, X-Wing Alliance does not require DOS. It will run just fine on it's own.

Try a program called DOSBox.....It's a DOS emulator. I use it to run XWing, TIE Fighter and the original Dark Forces.

There is talk that Sci Fi Channel secured the rights to make several "TV movies". Hopefully, these will be set Pre-Serenity, so Wash will be back. I absolutely LOVE Firefly. I downloaded and imported the Serenity into X3, and take her out to the black while not on missions.

Problem is....the Cat was broke. There isn't enough mechanics in the world that can keep these birds in the air. They wore out the airframes. Comparing the Tomcat to an AK-47 is apples and oranges, my friend. The AK-47 is a reliable piece of machinery...the Tomcat on the other hand...not so much. In fact...I remember hearing something about having to scrub one of the cats that was going to take part in the retirement ceremony because they couldn't get it started

They actually had several different versions of "Tapper"...."Rootbeer Tapper" is the most common one....There was another version that actually had Budweiser logos on the walls and stuff

If I recall, HG wasn't the only people to sue FASA over Battletech. The original edition of Battletech had quite a few mechs that were borrowed from other series. Harmony Gold was perfectly within their rights to sue FASA over that. They plainly and simply stole the Valkyries appearance and called it a "Stinger - Light Mech"

Yeah....the smart bombs cleared the screen...you also had a hyperspace button that would warp you to another part on the screen.

I use one large decal for the entire mesh....for example, on my Phantoms the fuselage has a decal that goes from the intake all the way to the engine nozzle and that includes the national insignia squadron marking and branch name. I make two of those, one for each side...usually named xxxSDL or xxxSDR....cause if you just mirror the one large decal, everything is backwards. I do the same for the nose. If you look at my Furies, you will notice I use one decal stretching the length of the entire aircraft from nose to tail. Decals are pretty easy once you get the principal of them. I used to paint everything on to the bmps when I first started, now my skins are almost 90% decal...some are even 100%.

Interesting......that Tiger Meet paint could look pretty cool while in Battloid mode.... I enjoy the Navy squadrons on there too, the Tophatters in particuliar.

No, I was saying it was great when I was a kid.....not so great now.... This is definitely going in my aircraft directory when it is released....the closest I have gotten to flying a veritech was "launching" a model with a rubber band

a co worker let me borrow the entire Robotech series on DVD a while back.....I am actually kinda bummed I watched it....It didn't hold a candle to what I had remembered it as....kinda sucked in fact The mecha and stuff are still very cool though
