Wrench, I understand the worn, used finish on operational jets, but the weathering can be added later. Speaking of which, I suck at a lot of things, and weathering is one of them. Still need to learn weathering and adding gun port soot. And speaking of the KAW Sabers, who did those skins? They are greatly detailed. Works of art. Russ, That's more like I'm thinking. Looks like it just rolled out of the factory. Thanks for the tip on adding color over panels to add diversity. Another skill I need to learn.

Wrench says Razbam and he might be right, but I think YAP. Just can't remember which mission set it came with. Either way, it's available at one of these payware sites, but I added the co-pilot and the two back seaters. When/If I get time, I'll look it up to get you a more accurate answer on which site it's from.

Sorry, I was tinkering in my SF1 installs. Forgot about the xxx_water.bmp and NavalMap=TRUE statements for SF2.

These post in the SF1 Knowledge Base helped me get started. http://combatace.com/forum/190-adding-carriers-to-campaigns/

Wrench, I had found those. That's where I got the decals on the P-80, P-84 and P-86. I'd just relined an riveted Pasko's F-80 and Russouk's F-84 and was looking for something to do with them. I smelled SWOTL 1946 and went that way. I'll have to look for EricGen's Shooting Star pre-1947 skin. Thanks for the decals. Screenshot.

Flogger, Thanks. You've simplified a more complicated method I've tried before. I guess the reason I didn't use it was because it seemed like a lot more work. But I guess if I want the end result I'll have to take the time and put out the effort. Spinners, I've found Jimbib's post in the KB on basically the same method Flogger23 explained, with more detailed steps, but I can't find anything by hgbn. Any idea where those tips reside? daddyairplanes, I'm currently interested in the 50's era. NAKED, BRIGHT AND SHINY like the F-86 natural-metal skin. I'm taking baby steps here. Other eras, other times. (Is your post being redundant and repeating itself? Just asking cause before I have my coffee my head tends to tilt to one side and my eyes refuse to focus, so I'm not sure if I'm seeing double.) russouk, WOW! That's a work of art! I imagine it took quite a bit of time to piece it together? I'm afraid if I leaned to do that and it turned out well on ONE plane, I'd want to do that to the thousand or more I have in my installs. I'd end up spending the rest of my life in Photoshop and there are still things I want to do in life, like nap in a hammock, nap in an easy chair, nap between a pair of well-rounded ... well, you get the point. Man, this skinning stuff is like a drug. One taste and you're hooked. As I'm basically lazy by nature, I was looking for an easy way to aluminize my skins, like pick a color, splash it on with a paint bucket, add a pinch of this and a dash of that, tweak the textureset.ini and viola. SHINY! You guys have given me a few ideas and probably a lot more work. Think I'll rest up before I attempt any of these methods. Thanks to all,

You could try a clean, separate install of WoE. If that works, try installing the 2008 update. Check to see if it works. Then add one mod at a time and run the game after each mod to see if you can determine which mod is messing up your video.

I've been experimenting trying to find the best FS color to use for the bright, shiny natural metal skin I see on unpainted, early jets. So far, the FS color for silver/aluminum, FS 17178 is a bit too gray for what I'm looking for. I use Photoshop CS4. Any suggestions for which color/method to get shiny? TIA, Geary

MOD CAMPAIGNS ON A DRIVE OTHER THAN C?
Geary replied to Taterd's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
I've never run SF2 mods other than the default, but I've read this and seems simple enough. Hope it works for you. http://combatace.com/topic/82326-running-mods-from-a-different-disk-partition/?do=findComment&comment=661060 -
I run mine out of the zipped file. Give that a try.

Take a day off to celebrate you birthday. (Take a year off and tell people you are younger). Happy Birthday.

I wish you a full and speedy recovery. When you feel up to it, try a weekend at the baths at Baden-Baden. That always made me feel better.

Russouk2004, That plane looks like it was designed through Origami.

View File F-106A Templates for Pasko and Column5's Delta Dart Templates for Pasko's and Column5's F-106A Delta Dart. Original SF1 aircraft can be obtained here: http://combatace.com/files/file/5210-f-106a-delta-dart/. SF2 aircraft conversion can be obtained here: http://combatace.com/files/file/14246-f-106a-delta-dart-for-sf2/. These are .psd files with redrawn panel lines and rivets. You will need a paint prgroam such as Photoshop or Gimp that can read .psd files. You also need to know how to work with layers. The lines and rivets are painted in pure black with a second offset underlayer in pure white. The opacity for all is adjustable. The Wing.psd is mirrorred. It serves both left and right wings. If you find any problems with it, please PM me. If you improve it, please PM me a copy. Thanks to Pasko and Column5 for this great airplane. And thanks to all who are helping me learn to skin by direct involvement and/or by inspiration. If I forget or miss anyone who deserves credit for anything I release, I apologize. HOLY LEANING TOWER!! Does that heat sink have it's own support system? What keeps your tower from falling over?

I've been thinking about going to a big screen TV for my main monitor. Need to find one I can live with. I've been wanting to build a new computer with two PCIex16 SLI slots so I can run at least 3 monitor with the same quality. For flight simming you just NEED three monitors. Just can't seem to get it al together yet. Glad I still have goals in life. Congrats on your new system.
