OK, for some reason, I couldn't get into CA last night to post my review of the movie. So here it is.... Ultimately, I came out with mixed feelings from it.... kind of a bitter sweet feeling if you know what I mean. The entire movie was great up untill it ended. Without giving away spoilers, I did not think that they would leave everything to end like that. I seriously thought at one point a certain act was going to be taken so that everything that had happened up to that point would have been corrected. That did not happen, and that's why I'm a bit disappointed. I'm definately sure that the hardcore and even the mild trek fans will be yelling heresy at this. The thing is though, this movie wasn't for any of the trek fans (except for those who really don't care with continuity as long as theres a good script - and I'm between that group and the mild trek fans) and I think it is safe to say that for those hardcore and mild fans, the trek that they like and expect to see is dead. This movie was mainly aimed at the JJ Abrams fans and that some how rubs me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I like JJ's work, but I think I'm seeing a bit of egotism from him to where he can do whatever he wants to a genre that was originally created by someone else. So there it is, my review of the movie. I really thought I was going to like it without any issues. Oh well.

Yesterday I began my last year in my 20's. Start looking for those apocolyptic signs people. Once I hit 30, the world will be going to hell. I've already experienced being falsely arrested and hosed down in public (courtesy of my unit). Civil unrest is imminent.

Last Thursday, we had a bomb threat call at our Custom's building. I was one of the first responders and had to setup as a counter sniper (uber cool). Then I got retasked to provide armed escort for the evacuees. After that I had to stand out in the cold for about three hours and miss a meal break. Anyways. It's the first bit of "action" I've gotten to deal with since going AGR. I also just got that new G1 phone from TMobile so I now have constant internet access.

Just checking in. Haven't visited the site (actually the entire internet) for the past week. Finally began working on my AGR orders and moved into a friend's house for the time being until I can get my own. Haven't gotten all of my stuff moved in yet... inlcuding my computer. Thankfully, CA is DOD friendly and am able to access it from my unit's computers.

Guess I'm a wee bit late on this one, but what the hey.... Happy birthday bro!

So, is it steam or seamen that you're letting off? I'm getting confused here. All this gheavy talk is not getting things straight for me. -

Boeing unveils new F-15 Silent Eagle
serverandenforcer replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
It just seems like it's a desperate attempt against the competition by Boeing. To me, it looks like a F-15 with a body kit. Aside from the RAM that's been placed on it, I don't see any other significant design changes that make it stealthier. Internal weapon bays kind of help by maintaining the default RCS that would have changed from external ordinance on the wings. But it still doesn't meet to the level of performance of the F-22 and F-35. It might be a bit cheaper than those two, but that's all it is. -
Helped Riveside Sherrifs with manning a DUI checkpoint last night for St. Pattys day. Got more people driving without a license than DUIs.

In Flight Reloading system
serverandenforcer replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
There is no way that can really be done at all. The slightest mistake in piloting of either aircraft, and operation of the rearming arm, or mechanical failure of so many things involved will spell certain doom. OK, so let's say they were able to get this to work somehow and begin re-arming a fighter... What if the loading arm gets stuck while it's attached to the fighter? Both the crew of the re-arming cargo plane and the pilot in the fighter are screwed (except the pilot of the fighter can eject). This is a bad bad bad and stooooooooooopid idea. -
If anybody is wonderng what the sound track is from the latest trailer, it's "Feedom Fighters" by Two Steps from Hell.
-
Yeah, considering the show was based on the dramas off a space station, IMHO, it had a lot more going for it than any other series which were based on ships going into the drama. Kind of funny ain't it?

What really needs to be made is another Bridge Commander style game. The first one was good, but it had a memory leak that caused frequent lock-ups and CTDs. A group of modders is making something similar to it called Excalibur (I think it's a whole new game.... might be just a massive mod for BC).

I'm just pissed at some of the trek fans being upset with this film. It's like they actually want to see Star Trek die. I think this movie will be great. JJ Abrams has done an awesome job on Alias, Lost, Mission Impossible 3 (about as good as the first one if not better), and Cloverfield. I have no doubts that he'll make this movie bad ass.
-
Yeah, when those guys are pissed, they mean business and it takes a lot to take 'em down. Would make darn good cannon fodder in war if they could get trained up in weapon operations and combat tactics. Animal rights groups might have a bit of a problem with it though.
-
Yeah no problem. I actually forgot to give you the lod that has the adjustments of the pivot point. Also, FC and I were discussing in great deal the other night on a realistic way to set it up as a single FM for both the player and the AI. I'll send you a PM that explains in detail, along with the updated LOD tonight.

AIR REFUELING
serverandenforcer replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I voted yes. I think air refueling would add a significant challenge to the sim. It's more than just pressing a button and getting a banana. It takes skill and hard work, especially if things are setup realisticall. One wrong move and you not only take yourself down, but the tanker as well. Besides, the roles could also be reversed where you're the tanker or boom lift operator and have to refuel the birds that are thirsty.
