  1. 1.Right-click on the Weapons Editor, scroll down to 'Properties'. Click. 2.Select the 'Compatibility' tab. 3.In the 'Compatibility Mode' box, click 'check' and select 'Windows 98/Windows Me'. 4.Click on 'Apply' at the bottom of the display. Now when you run the Weapons Editor, it should stay open. (It's OK; I only learned this about a week ago myself.) This info is also in the CombatAce 'Knowledge Base'.
  2. Are you running the editor in compatibility mode?
  3. OK, so, apparently, you've made the necessary edits to the 'Data' and 'Loadout' files of the various aircraft. Must be another problem, then.
  4. Did you install the 'Weapons Pack' just before you took a break?
  5. 1.) NATO Fighters I & II: I've downloaded both but only installed some of the files from each of them, i.e., without the installers. 2.) Bunyap's Weapons Pack: it'll work with a combined install provided you make the prescribed modifications to airplane data and loadout files.
  6. Come on; tell us what yer *really* gonna do.
  7. Offhand, I'd say keep your WOV/WOE install, and transfer files from SFGold into that. I run SF:P1 inside WOE, planes, terrains, and all.
  8. Have you checked out the skins that have already been uploaded?
  9. You have to use the following utility... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=343 ..to extract the 'AircraftObject.ini' file from the 'ObjectData.cat' file bundle, which is in the 'Objects' folder. After extracting and editing the 'AircraftObject.ini' file, you just leave it in the 'Objects' folder, and the game reads it instead of the unextracted file. Welcome to modder hell. :)
  10. Send me a PM, if you'd like; maybe I can help you figure out what happened.
  11. Anyone have updated -29C files? I looked through my own collection and I don't have jack diddly.
  12. Edit: Never mind. I need to get new glasses.
  13. You didn't screw anything up; you'll need to edit the 'Data.ini' and 'Loadout.ini' files of the planes to activate the weps in the Weapons Pack.
  14. I think you need to focus on the 'AttachmentType' at each weapon station in the 'Data.ini' file. Stock des. is probably 'NATO'; you'll have to change that to something more specific, like 'USAF'.
  15. You'll have to edit the Data.ini and, possibly, the Loadout.ini files to allow the plane to use the weapons in the Weapons Pack. Check the WP instruction manual.
  16. I'm running Intel onboard audio with Realtek drivers. I haven't had any tech issues thus far. If you are running onboard sound, consider a driver update. Otherwise, think about installing a dedicated PCI sound card.
  17. What sound hardware are you using?
  18. Finally, an end to the patchwork-quilt effect!
  19. No one could provide you with a copy of the 'Desert.cat' file legally.
  20. The file that has the texture set descriptions on it is the 'ini' file with *just* the airplane designation on it -- e.g. 'F-4E', not 'F-4E.Loadout' or 'F-4E.Data', etc. I think these days you don't have to type anything in -- just dump the skin folder into the airplane folder, and everything else should occur automatically.
  21. Hmm, well... looks like I'll have to stitch together my own loadout manual. It's hard to beat Wiki, though. Damn.
  22. At last, my theory is confirmed.
  23. I recently discovered something odd: my guys would actually get into dogfights with each other because of some invalid settings in a terrain .ini file. 20 seconds with a text editor and everything was fine again. Never would have guessed.
