For whatever reason, the first time I looked at this thread, there were only three pictures (not of which I recollect ever seeing). Now, the rest are showing up, and you're absolutely right. These pics have been published for over 60 years.

I thought it was a bit over the top how they threw themselves over the side to reduce ballast, but overall the air-to-air filming was exquisite for the time. -
Hell, I'd be happy to get a medal. If they disappear upon death, just look at it as that your poor widow sold them to make ends meet. :)

As much as I'd like to upgrade to 7, I just downgraded back to XP from Vista, and OFF is now running beautifully. I'm not going to mess with it now. When I build (or buy) a new rig, I'll upgrade then...

As you mentioned: As long as you're not wearing a decoration you did not earn, I fully support you collecting and/or displaying them. It provides a tangible link to the past, and is a respectable way to honor the memory of those that served and sacrificed. I've actually thought about starting a collection myself... -
