  1. Pitch and Yaw axis-linked thrust vectoring does not work in this series. Unless TK adds it on to the SF2I release, or to whatever patches are forthcoming to bring the remainder of the series to parity with SF2I, I don't see him placing this too high up on his list of priorities.
  2. Getting close to release. I've nicknamed this video "ticking off the AI". In the video, the Kiev's defenses are shown engaging multiple targets, my AI wingman, and myself. You'll note that the CIWS mounts are quite accurate (and deadly), inside of 2000 meters range. Kiev_Defenses.wmv
  3. Happy birthday, Jim Well, knowing you as I do, I'd say that would be an extremely short list....tell us, Dave, what wouldn't you do?
  4. Missiles are not targetable in this series.
  5. 3ds max 7, or later versions of 3ds max.
  6. That's what search engines (such as Google} are for. Also, in regards to more recent weapons, you're not going to find too much info in regards to the weapons limits and capabilities...
  7. Ready for beta test.... Kiev_SAM_test.wmv
  8. Progress as of today: SAM systems....all done Flight deck VTOL config....successfully implemented & tested AAA batteries...8 of 10 turrets working independently, will engage multiple aircraft simultaneously. Two turrets (port fwd sponson CIWS mounts) still need to be activated. Thanks to FC for taking the time to create a super-sized measuring tool This video will show you the Kiev's main mounts and CIWS batteries operating independantly against two attacking aircraft. I deactivated the SAM systems for the video, as it's pretty hard to get (and stay) this close, when they're operating. Kiev_AAA_test.wmv
  9. Wow Harold, I'm so caught up in this thing...that I didn't even consider that as an option. Thanks....you da MAN
  10. That would be handy advice, if it were my model, or, if I had the MAX file for it (which it is not, and which I do not). The only alternative available to me, is to create a 3D pointer in MAX, set it in game as a missile object, place it on the model, and then use that to find the coords by trial & error. Extremely time-consuming, especially when one takes game loading times into consideration.
  11. Having fun (not!!!!) calculating the barrel positions for 8 CIWS mounts.....
  12. Bad .wav file, no doubt.
  13. No doubt after eating some of your own chilli....

    Funny

I understand that they have a rather difficult time getting new crew members for this ship. Most walk away after seeing its name....
  15. No need to be sorry, if there's enough interest in this model, perhaps I can convince my fellow MF members to create the appropriate 3D model.
  16. The difference in length between an A-7D and A-7F is quite apparent in this image:
  17. The A-7F was approximately 1.3 meters longer than its siblings, sported wing-strakes, and had a somewhat different aft fuselage section. You're not to achieve that through simple via .ini edits. "The principal feature of the YA-7F was incorporation of the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220 afterburning engine of 20,000 pounds thrust. This required structural modification of the fuselage to add 29.5 inches just forward of the wing, 18 inches immediately aft of the wing and upward rotation of the fuselage aft section to maintain ground clearance. Wing strakes were also added. Other equipment provided was a 60-KVA generator, an On-Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS), and revised cockpit controls and displays. Many other improvements were made throughout the airplane The YA-7F first flew in November 1989 with test pilot Jim Read at the controls. Vought proposed to modify 307 Air National Guard A-7D's to the A-7F configuration at a unit flyaway cost of $4.93 million. The two prototypes went on to complete a very successful flight test program at Edwards Air Force Base, but the USAF chose not to put the airplane into production"
  18. The Madagascar sequence in Casino Royale was filmed in the Bahamas, the building they showed under construction, has been "under construction", since the late 1980s...it is in Nassau, if I'm not mistaken. Also, the Art Museum in that same movie was obviously not in Miami (check the architechture, it's pre-art deco, central European).
  19. It looks as if your nukes are set to use a cluster bomb effect, and not Nuclear Fusion (or nuclear fission). That needs to corrected for every nuclear weapon in your weapondata.ini, using the correct weapon editor, for your patch level. There's information on how to accomplish that, in the Knowledge Base.
  20. The GAU-8.wav needs to be associated with it's gun using the guneditor, and it also needs to be added to the soundlist.ini (or it will not work). GAU8.wav
  21. I'm sure the fact that India has a rather large & thriving motion-picture industry also had something to do with that
  22. Stick is correct, as is Stary. I lived within 5-10 city blocks of that church, for most of my life. In the movie, Tom Cruise's character walks out of his house (to the right, just out of the picture in the first image), walks around the corner, and winds up by the church...lol. They are over 5 miles apart, in two different towns, that are separated by a large body of water. Note their respective (and approximate) locations, as indicated on the map below.
