I think TK knew his target audience well. Whilst there will be quite a few new players for WoI, most peeps are pretty well intimate with the Wings Over series I think.

Take off, ingress, do the biz, egress, victory roll over the airfield. Land, taxi to hangar, switch off engine (woohoo) get out. Quick shower, do my hair, choose shoes...bite to eat. Then off to work (wish I could alt+n this part).

Yep, if all these little extra's we are getting in WoI are included in the new patches (cough cough) for WoV\WoE then the bar will certainly have been raised ! Oh, pardon my ignorance...but are the aircraft with the all-green roundels Iraqi or Libyan ??

Anyone managed to get their canopy animations to work? I've tried as per the KB, no joy... Lets not turn this into a Vista v XP discussion either, cheers.

I like it that it's harder to get a missile kill. Makes you think that bit more to line up the killer shot, in the envelope as you say. I enjoy using the guns though, I'm pretty good at judging deflection and leading a target and find it easier that way than right on someones six.

Well, I flew a recce mission in an A4 (in single mission mode) and no sooner had I got wheels and flaps up after taking off my wingie calls "bandits, he's right behind you". A Syrian Mig 21 was coming up behind me, I have never experienced this surprise attack in any of the other Wings Over series. Maybe that's what the above line in the file does ??

There does seem to be an awful lot of forward redundancy built into WOI. Good !

One thing I have noticed in WOI, the AI seem to fight more in the vertical than in the others. Was dogfighting a Mig23 in an F16 and that AI pilot went vertical...impressed me no end! Got him in the end, but boy, the best and most challenging dogfight I've ever done (Im usually a ground-pounder and tend to avoid a fight).

"They" are saying it was a highly modified system, custom built for this job. Then they would say that...wouldn't they. (this according to a USN spokesman on Sky News). Still, good stuff !

Speak for yourself Canadair ! I know that my Yorkshire accent has never been described as sweet...you know that feeling when you hear yourself recorded...like, OMG do I really sound like that ! I must admit though, after hearing female aircrew on an airband scanner they do sound quite unruffled and "in control" ! Not that the guys aren't of course...
