  1. I have an F-14 squadron on a carrier in my NF4+ install. If I have time later and you still don't have it, I'll post my entries.
  2. No beta testers works really well for those of us here at CA, but someone new to the series might download from the TW site and get turned off by the bugs. Sure if they come here and drink from our cool-aid, they'll see the benefit of waiting for a patch and buy the entire series, but if they don't they might right it off as a buggy, incomplete product. Regarding the new Exp Pack - I think the TW series, with this expansion pack, has finally surpassed the capabilities of my laptop. The screens lately have been AMAZING, but I just can't get the same results. I don't see a new laptop in the near future, but maybe I can conjure up an excuse... Keep up the good work TK!
  3. Got it! Works now. Thanks CA_Stary and Canadair!
  4. I also got a CTD at 80% when I added the trees to my WOI install (both with Canadair's data.ini and the one that comes with the download). Without the trees (just the tiles) it loads fine. If I get a chance tonight, I'll dig into it a little more to see what's going on... ...otherwise maybe this is my excuse to get SF2I...
  5. This thread is destined for success.
  6. If you're only gonna have one, I'd go with SF2E. Like someone said, lots of years covered. The NF4+ add-on gives you almost any aircraft you can think of. After that - SF2V, SF2I, then SF2
  7. I hate to say it, but that stick won't really work on a PC. I started a thread about it a while back, but I can't find it right now. It is very disappointing that that stick is advertised to "work on a PC", cuz it just plain doesn't. Luckily I still have my AV8R 01 that works beautifully on my laptop. The -02 is in a box collecting dust... You'll need another stick for PC flight sims...
  8. Also, just be aware that if you decide to add either of the free expansion packs for either of those titles (SF2:V Air and Ground Expansion Pack, or NF4+ for SF2E) that they're better added over a standalone install. You can, however, have a standalone install of each and a merged install. I think instructions for that are in the KB.
  9. I think these provide new campaigns (and campaign files) that are named different, and therefore install along with the modified exp pack campaigns. They don't overwrite. Is that correct?
  10. I've tried re-basing with carriers, and I never got it to work.
  11. Also, remember that the benefit of the new "mod folder" structure is that you can just copy your mod folder, reinstall the stock game and patch to your desired level, run the game once, then drop your copied mod folder back in. Yes you have to reinstall the game, but you don't have to reinstall any mods. Should take a total of about 15 minutes, and you actually having to be at the computer for about 1 of those minutes.
  12. I'm not sure how this relates the original topic, so maybe I'm missing the point of this statement. But, anyway, if you're referring to the flak in the SF2V expansion pack, it was tuned up a lot to make it more deadly, since most of the stock AAA is laughable. The expansion pack comes with 3 levels of "deadliness" (stock, deadly, suicidal), so if you're having a hard time, make sure you're using the least deadly files.
  13. The updated campaign files included in this mod replace the MF F4U-7 with the one linked in the first post. So if you're using this update pack, you'll want to use the one I linked. If you're using the mod without the update pack (which doesn't work), then you'd use the MF plane wrench linked.
  14. Oops. Litening pod is on the wrong side of the A-10C loadout. Use this file (and change the extension to .ini): A-10C_LOADOUT.txt
  15. OK. Here is a shot at an A-10C (sort of) based of the SF2E A-10. I can't get the skin to work, so maybe someone else can figure that out. Also, the service date would need to be changed for it to really be an A-10C (and the litening pod too). http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FEQ23KD2 And here are some slightly altered loadouts for the A-10A's: A-10 Loadout.rar
  16. Hey folks maybe this was covered in the SF2 KB, but I couldn't find it there. I'm running the June '09 version of SF2E. I copied the A-10A_78 folder, pasted it, and then renamed it A-10C. I then renamed the main .ini file inside to A-10C.ini and changed the display name to A-10C. I also customized the data.ini and loadout.ini files. When I go in game, I can select the aircraft, load it out per my changes, and fly it. However, no skins are showing (the whole plane is white/grey). I extracted the skin folders from the .cat file and placed them in there, but I still got the same issues. Is there something I'm missing? (obviously there is... that was a dumb question) How about... what am I missing?
  17. Yeah, i saw some pictures of the litening on the station as I have it and also on the station where the maverick is as you mentioned. If it is more commonly carried where the maverick is loaded, then I can move it there. Do you have any examples of a few common loadouts?
  18. Something like this? Did you want this for the SF2E A-10A, or the an A-10C? Is there an SF2 A-10C anywhere or do I need to create one with the A-10A/
  19. Sure, but the most modern install I have right now is NF4+, so it'll have to be when I have time to find one of my more modern installs on a back up somewhere... Also, I had a link to a website a while ago that showed loadouts (both in text and graphically) for most aircraft involved in ODS up through Enduring Freedom. There was great info on F-15E loadouts from OAF, and I was hoping to get some A-10 loadout info, but I can't find the website. Anyone know what I'm talking about and have the link?
  20. Maybe some previews are in order... CAS/Recon Strike SEAD
