Regarding the F-4E templates they are great for SF1 but the SF2 Phantoms are mapped slightly different.

Don't touch the FM - no need IMHO. I've swapped an FM from one a/c to another a/c (with a different 3D model) and it ends up messy. -

Follow pureblue's tips and, in SF2, the assymetric tiptanks can be banged into one folder. I'd also add a userlist and convert all ini files to Unicode. A 10-minute job.
