  1. (Warning: This post contains cliches) Having a Buccaneer of any description will be fantastic and having three S.2 variants is the icing on the cake. I'm over the moon! I'd like to thank Russo for his generosity and also thank everyone at the GMG for picking up the ball and running with it. Superb teamwork! Incidentally, there was some strong West German interest in the Buccaneer and I've heard it said that it was the UK governments lack of interest in further development of the Buccaneer that put the Bonn government off. I guess I'm hinting that the GMG would be quite entitled to do a Marineflieger 'what if' that actually has an air of authenticity.
  2. Westland Whirlwind F.Mark 51 of No.1 squadron (The Panthers) Royal Dhimari Air Force.
  3. Yak-9U Acredited to Pasko/Wolf257 this little gem flies quite well in SF2.

  5. A brace of Fishtail D's. Nice one Gepard!

Hawker Hunter FGA.61 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1 This is a simple mod of the stock Hunter FGA.9 to give a 'what if' Hunter FGA.61 fighter with markings for No.1 and No.3 squadrons of the Dhimari Air Force. Please note that this mod is optimised for use in 'Wings Over Israel' and it will NOT work in 'Strike Fighters Gold' or 'Wings Over Vietnam' as neither game has the Hunter FGA.9 LOD's. It will work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you will not have the stock Arabic serial numbers appearing. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA61 folder into your Aircraft folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 07/04/18 Version 1 - 26/03/09

  8. Very inventive Wrench! I took mine skiing...
  9. No problem - I'm on my other pooter at the moment but will re-upload later.
  10. I can clearly remember seeing film clips of the Buccaneer during Red Flag with commentry by incredulous USAF bods who just couldn't believe what they were seeing. This was shown on the BBC 1 'Nationwide' programme in 1977 (give or take a year or two).
  11. Hunter FGA.Mk61 of No.1 squadron (The Panthers) Royal Dhimari Air Force.
  12. Thanks guys! I've just extracted the terrain from WOI (using the new Cat Pack tool) and plonked it into SF2 simply by creating a Terrains folder and placing it in there.
  13. Dhimari Hunter FGA Mk82 en route to the Parani border...
  14. No problem mate. It had a short life (1956-1958) didn't it? The Sapphire Hunters were generally regarded as being better than the Avon equivalents but the only explanation I've ever seen about their early demise is that the RAF wanted to standardise on the one engine type for their Hunter fleet. I'm not too sure about that.

This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Hunter to give a flyable F.5 with markings for No.34 and No.56 squadrons of RAF Middle East Command based in Dhimar during the mid to late 1950's. Whilst both squadrons did actually operate the Hunter F.5 the markings for No.56 squadron are slightly 'generic' but the serial numbers are genuine enough. Two extra No.34 decals are included (34Patch and 34RoundelBars) if you prefer that squadron to have the same look as No.56 squadron and/or for you to use elsewhere. Regards Spinners

  17. Hi Derk - the LODs are in SF2 (F4, F5, F6 and FGA9). I'm releasing the Hunter F.5 for SF2 very soon.
  18. BTW following the cancellation of the TSR.2 in 1964 Dassault and BAC teamed up to offer the Spey-Mirage IV to the RAF. I'm not sure who was lukewarm to the idea the RAF or the UK Government but it would have been a useful strike/recce aircraft or did things turn out for the best (Buccaneer and Tornado)? Anti-flash white anyone? Or a Falklands 'Black Buck'?
  19. Hunter F.5 of No.34 squadron immediately before the 1956 Suez crisis.
  20. Dhimari Typhoon Craig's brilliant Eurofighter Typhoon with sundowner's superb Saudi skin and stock Dhimari and 'ArabicSN' decals.
  21. Sorry. I've only ever used it in SF2 and found it OK - very nice in fact and with Syrinx's help I did a Desert skin for it. From memory (I haven't got it installed at the moment) I seem to remember that it leaps into the air! Are you flying on normal or hard?
