  1. Here are Pups of Naval 3's C Flight. They are for the most part historically accurate but a bit of artistic license was needed on a couple. I assumed the fuselage letters corrisponded with the the first letter of each pilots last name like that of Flt Lt R G Macks pup "Black Tulip" marked "M". And Edmun Pierce's pup "Black Arrow" marked "P". Also Len Rochford's pup "Black Bess" was said to have a head of a black horse painted on it. But there are no photos to confirm this. So I painted one on anyway. I'll include one with out the head incase some of you dont like it. I had to do some reading in three different books to confirm the serials with the pilots and the proper flight. So this is what I came up with ( not 100% positive) Flt Lt. R G Mack: "Black Tulip" N6172 - M Edmund Pierce: "Black Arrow" N6171 - P - w/ black arrow Raymond Collishaw: "Black Maria" N6160 - C Len Rochford: "Black Bess" N6207 - R - w/ horse head Art Wealy: "Black Prince" N6194 - W
  2. It is a lot of work to make the decals, to place them in the decals.INI, then find the right coordinates on the plane, then to number all the .TGA decal files to fill the 100 slots the game uses for decals. And then to get different decals numbered the same to match up on the plane at the same time, and then create a numbers list to be able to select what scheme you want to use. Why I do it? I dont really know but I do like the outcome and I like sharing it with everyone else. It's a fun hobby. Every time I get new WWI book or see new profiles I feel like I need to get to work on them asap. I've done so many for myself for my campaigns. It makes the game exciting and more intense when I go head to head with a "Known Ace" and his crate.
  3. Here is a sopwith pup skin from Naval 3 I've been working on for a long time now. I finally got around to finishing up. It's one skin folder that uses decals to create the different flights. Blue "A Flight", Red "B Flight", and Black " C Flight". I tried addeding as much detail as I could to the main skin. I also did skins for the known schemes of Naval 3 like "HAPPY", "MILDRED", "BETTY", and so on. Also did some for No.66, No.46, and No.54 Squadrons of the RFC. Did the same for them all using decals for flight colors. Here are some pics of what I have so far of the generic Naval 3:
  4. That is pretty cool
  5. Bravo Stephen1918! She's a beauty.
  6. Works for me now. Thank you Erik.
  7. I know you're working on it but just letting you know I'm getting the same thing in FE forums. Cant upload .JPEGs in PM either. Same message. The attachment tab says "Undefined" too.
  8. Ok, finally getting started on the Nieuport 28's. I'm going to do my best to make a complete set of skins for all known '28's of the 27th, 94th, 95th, and 147th Aero Squadrons in early to mid 1918. There is two ways I could do this. One would be to create a whole bunch of seperate skins for each squadron. Or two, create 1 skin for each group and use decals to create each pilot or ace skin within that group like I did with the sopwith triplanes of Naval10. BTW, do you guys prefer having one skin folder that uses decals as apposed to a whole bunch of skin folders. I like the decals because you can see all the different color schemes at randomn when flying and you can select which profiles you want in your squadron or flight. Let me know what you guys think. Decals or Skin folders. Either way it's going to be a lot of Photoshop work. Going to be very hard to get all the artwork that some have on the cowling ( stripes, teeth, zig-zags etc etc) Just need to finish up the base skin first. Lots of small details need attention. Here are some pics of the 4 groups:
  9. Finally posted! If anyone has problem with the install in anyway, please let me know. If anyone finds a mistake with any of the decals, again please let me know. Enjoy them guys!
  10. View File Naval 10 Sopwith Triplanes This download will create the Naval 10 (10RNAS) Triplanes used in the Spring and Summer of 1917. Decals are used to create all three flights of Naval 10 A Flight - red B Flight - black C Flight - blue There are 15 different color schemes. Each Flight has 5 aircraft color schemes. 12. Merry Christmas to all that celebrate today! Ho Ho Ho!
  13. Very interesting concept. Looks good to me
  14. So Brumowski was at 9,000ft and I saw him loosing altitude really fast. I assumed he was dead so I watched him fall. Lesson learned?, dont dive in a N27 Brumowski.wmv
  15. you mean they're not WWI aviator coats?
  16. I'm just about done. I had to add more detail decals. I had to make all the rigging holes from decals and place them all over the plane. Needless to say it took some time but well worth it. I also ran into a snag with ONE decal out of place that threw off my plan. Out of a couple hundred decals I finally found the mis-numbered decal. Just doing some final testing. Here are some pics. Remember all skins you see are from one skin folder using decals to create the different flights in order.
  17. I finally finished these. When you see all the decals in the "D" folder you'll see why it took so long . So I made decals for 15 planes. 5 for A Flight, 5 for B Flight and 5 for C Flight. But if you have Naval 10 as the default skin I made 100 decals for each decal name so all these Flights will always appear in order if you use Naval 10 or if Naval 10 is just AI. I also created a numbers list for upto 15 planes with the Pilots names of Naval10. So you can select which flight or flights you want to use. Hard to explain but it works and is very cool if you are a D.III of Jasta11 and you come across a Squadron of triplanes and see all the different colors and particuliar ace markings. You'll see. I'll post them tomorrow sometime.
  18. Thats right! Geezer has some goodies on the way. Ground objects are a nice treat too.
  19. I dont think any of my skins will be ready by Christmas. But soon. Would anyone like a particular skin in the meantime??
  20. I'm working on skins too, but for Austria-Italy campaign. Pretty much done. The hard part I've been trying to work on is renaming all the "Targets" or locations on the Vogesen terrain. I'm trying to get as many airfield and city names as possible and their approximate locations to fit the Vogesen layout. Then I have to rename ALL base locations in the DATA.ini for every aircraft and ground object. I really dont even want to do it! But it will look and feel better with proper names. And when I'm all done someone will have created a real Northern Italy terrain ( One can hope ) and I will have to do it all over again
  21. I've tried just about everything Wrench. I changed the Infantrys' DATA.ini roll to Tank, MobileAD, and TankSpread. I've even changed the inputs for the respective inputs in the Formations.INI by adding more to each parameter. Nothing changes at all. The Infantry formations remain the same (only 4 objects at a time). Again this is for campaign mode only. It works in Single Mission mode only. Many troops and tanks will appear in Single Missions. And their positions (formations) do change when I alter their formation parameters. Why, Why, Why not for Campaigns? I guess it's just not in the programing. Same reason you cant have a formation of only 1 Aircraft even thought I created it in the Formations.INI. Always 1-2 aircraft will appear at random. Even when the "Element" calls for 1 position. I'll keep trying I guess. BTW Wrench, the Terrains' Movement doesnt effect the ground objects in Campaigns either. Infact No objects like Trucks, Wagons, or troops appear along the "Movement" parametes in campaign mode at all. I dont know why. In an Armed Recon or SEAD mission there should be some truck convoys or troop colums. But there never are. Only the Infantry I have in the Campaigns' DATA.INI that move from Node to Node.
  22. Thanks guys. Yeah I cant get more then 4 objects (Infantry) to appear in each campaign mission. And only in one location (nearest my objective) even when the pre-mission breifing says there are a bunch of locations w troop movement. I never see them actually moving in the mission itself. Too bad because it would make for great land action to fly over or straff.
  23. Do the ground objects that appear in campaigns (say Infantry that move from Strategic Node to Strategic Node) have a max number that will appear? I cant get more than 4 infantry units to appear at a time in my campaign. No matter the settings for the ground units in the campaigns' DATA.ini or the Formations.INI Ex: [GroundUnit026] GroundObjectType=AustrianInfantry UnitName=2nd Infantry ForceID=2 Nation=AUSTRIA BaseArea=Kolmar RandomChance=100 StartObjects=100 <---------------------- MaxObjects=200 <--------------------- Experience=80 Morale=80 Supply=100 <--------------------------- I've messed with all these settings and all I get are 4 Infantry objects advancing at a time. Intelligence=80 I would like much more if possible. Formation=TankSpread MaxObjectPerMission=200 <---------------- In Single Missions there are about 12 or so units that advance. Why not in Campaign mode?
