had also the alt+n crash, removed the A310 with le missioneur from the mission and it worked and case this isn t enough remove also the static airplanes. worked for me unfortunately i have another problem, all the helis are removed from CA and can only be found on the A team site - BUT, they give the files ONLY to selected ppl :( tried some workarounds with placeholders, but i would like to fly it in the planned way. thx for your nice missions Jaeger

the R 77 has the HOJ feature and you better turn your jammer of below 20nm otherwise you are a missile magnet. but the R 40 series and their generation is way behind the AIM 7 just as a small example, the KAL shootdown - one missile missed the straight flying 747 with a bomberlike big radar return. well Gepard, thats quite a valid point. so the mission would be, fly along ddr, poland up to St. Petersburg make some turns and back and stay out of russia. i think the US could have done this with cheaper planes and more loiter time. or did the SR71 flow up to murmansk inside russian territory? then it was a major fault from the russian side that there wasn t a base on a location where they could reach the SR71 inside there territory. with an 939 MoBo you have also the ability to upgrade to an Athlon 3800+, this cpu is much more powerful then your current celeron. this cpu is available for around 30 bucks and a good investment. the 4000+ is a bit itchy with some MoBo, so the 3800 is the safer choice. addional you can disable background services with msconfig or services.msc when you prefer an easier way game xp is your choice http://www.theorica.net/gamexp.htm after some mysterious chrashes i downgrated to green hell 1 - i think it is worth a try. lets say the article is correct. but this raises the question why the russians actually didnt shoot down the SR71??? Where they not willing to do so? Nah, the history shows us that they russians where always trigger happy and did not hesitate to shoot at suspect planes- see the U2 and the Korean 747. And keep in mind what propaganda victory this would be, just take a look what happend as the F117 was shot down over serbia. Where they able to do so? i think thats the point, they werent able to shoot the SR71 down. There are a lot of what if, some of them: -the SR71 and accelarated over mach 3.2 -the SR71 climbed much much higher -did successfully jam the MIG 25 radar -the MIG 25 couldn t get a fire solution, because of above and other reasons lets get back to the facts, there was never a SR71 shot down and the russians where willing to do so - anytime. @jug - i wrote engagement, not dogfight. you are on the spot in this alt. there will be no dogfight. the technology of the MIG 25 was somewhat outdated mixed with marvellous engineering solutions. the electronic was based on vacuum tubes so the western intelligence thought this is a hoax otherwise the radar was jammer resistant. btw, the board computer was to slow for calculating a head on shot against an SR71. an excellent link from column5 about the Mig 25 capabilities http://www.wvi.com/~sr71webmaster/mig25.html the warsaw pact pilots relied completely on the GCI and where more or less human autopilots. the GCI told them when to hit the burner, turn climb. a slight error in the turn and the pilot could never get the target on the radar. there happend a Mig25 vs F15 engagement in the 1st gulf war at low level and the Mif25 got killed. though, this doesn t prove you are wrong Jaeger

Viktor Belenko flew several simulatur engaments vs USAF pilots, one engagment was he in a MIG 25 vs a F15. up to 60 k the F15 was superior and over 80k the F15 had no chance. Jaeger
