Best Space Sim IMHO is X3 Terran Conflict... Space trading Space fighting from single ships all the way up to Capital ship battles... Story line if you want or if you dont want... you can be a goody two shoes or a pirate the game is all up to you... and the graphics are damn pretty... Here's a Link video from Egosoft And the graphics look the same on my PC... Oh yeah you can mod it as well... And paint your Ships to match your shoes...

Well thats one approach I suppose but then you would have no PC at all to complain about... and then when you do make it back to base after a mission (Without visiting the Twilight Zone (PC Crash)) you then get much more pleasure out of it all...

LT I have one of those soft hammers that you get at funfairs over here in Blighty and when I get annoyed with PC I beat the living daylights out of it with said Soft hammer... Also I work in IT and I keep meaning to get another one to have in the office... Yeah its annoying I know but this is what makes DiD so much fun is the PC gonna crash or isn't it you could look at it as though you made the mission okay but there was a failure in the Jet on the way home...

In answer to question 4 I have 3 rules with dogfighting in an F-4... Rule 1 Dont Dogfight shoot them from long range... Rule 2 Dont go anywhere near a Mig 17 Rule 3 See rules 1 and 2... As to the SAM question best idea is to keep a good look out and as soon as you hear any Sam call dont look for it do a Break with around 5g... for me thats the best thing to do... as even if the SAM's on its way up there's a good chance it will break lock... as to the others is this WOV 1 or 2 ???

I have gone back to X3 TC started afresh and damn is it great fun... Getting lost all over again its an amazing game and the graphics are fantastic to say the least wuth the ability to fly small fighters all the way up to Capital Ships and staging marine raiding parties to steal other ships... trading with an intutive trading engine... and even though I have played it before I am finding whole new stuff to play with...

Okay was in a well known charity shop today dropping some no longer required items and have found a book called Bomber Pilot 1916 - 1918 by C.P.O. Bartlett. Its based on the Authors diary who was eventually a Squadron Leader in the R.A.F. It's about his time in the R.N.A.S. in the years noted. Will have a read through it and see how it reads and let you all know about it. Also has some photo's of Sopwith Strutters... And the price for this was a grand total of £2.59 in hard back and in fantastic condition as well. Even if it only turns out to be an average read it would be rude not to have bought it.

Well my last comment didn't help me at all... Ens Andrews was put in the hospital but got the Air Medal for being stupid and getting his jet all shot up flying straight and level for longer than 20 seconds... lost the port wheel didn't notice until I was on finals and did a quick check was a bit of a mess the entire flight...

Okay my Pilot is :- Flying A-4E Skyhawks with VA-164 Ghostriders Mod WOV All Gold Rolling Thunder Campaign First Sortie :- Sinking PT Boats. 4 A-4E with 6 MK-82's 1 300 gal droptank and full guns. Launch was nice and gentle headed over to Haiphong where the target Torpedo Boats where picked up our escort of 8 F-104c's about 30 miles from the coast. Turned onto initial point and the flak started up a bunch of 57mm 60mm and some really big stuff also every guy with a rifle was having a pot shot about 2 miles out popped up to 8000ft rolled over and entered dive at 350 knots dropped bombs at 2000ft. as I headed out wingman also dropped but he dropped long to hit the 3 boats I missed. I sank the first 3 boats and took out a mobile gun battery ZU-23 from the looks of the shells headed my way pulled out recalled the squad and headed back to the boat landing was an okay 3 wire.

Right just downloading everything I need as this is going into a complete fresh install... Game will be WOV patched to Oct 08 With the All Gold addon as that way I get quite a few older jets to run around in and I have found that being chased by flak all over the sky is great fun until you get hit by one... Will post details later today on pilot etc...

Thanks for the link... will create a new setup just for this over Vietnam with the All Gold 3 pack addition might as well have plenty of planes to choose from lol...

I am in but cant find the link... I will most likely run a WOV with a Scooter Navy style with the latest mod that came out running Linebaker II...

Well I will admit I havn't flown a German Battle Bus yet... as I am approaching this as a new pilot would and flying for the RNAS in a Sopwith 1/2 Strutter bombs gun up front and a gun behind shame I only last a couple of weeks but my current pilot is doing very well at present he's survived a whole 3 weeks okay so I had bad weather for 10 days... still counts... in my book right off to drop a couple of bombs and shoot something up and miss completely... I really need a new joystick...

Me if hit and damaged I head home but if hit over the target I like the idea that I have to struggle home with my battered plane... gives me a sense of achievement but hey its not for everyone I know... also IMHO it adds to the game not being able to run away because I have a damaged plane... the Computer cannot do it so its only fair... but saying that I only fly DiD Campaigns anyway...

Is this in Campaign or single missions ??? If its on a Campaign are you on a scramble mission ? On Single missions this could be a carry over from CFS3 as CFS3 does this...
