  1. Yes I can say something about 'it' It has not changed. It has not got files that sometimes vanish. Your PC on the other hand is another story.... be sure! HTH WM
  2. Guys P4 is a long way off - yes it is being worked on. We plan to have a few payware addons to P3 and the upcoming Addon #1 (no name yet) is the first of them. The addons will see additional craft, squads, Aces, skins (even additional skins for existing craft) and new features, tweaks and improvements as we go with the focus being to fill gaps in existing squads that have missing craft. So P3 is very far from being replaced with a "P4" HTH WM
  3. Hi, All of the craft do fill gaps in squads - many of these craft are already in the squads but either not available or have placeholders. The aim of all craft addon packs is to fill gaps in squads and yes the FE8 is also one but we can only make so many craft at a time as there are only two modelers in OBD..... Pol and I. Pol made the Fokker EV and DH5 and I made the Noops. We will continue to fill squad gaps as we go and we are also looking at 2 seaters for the next addon. Time for release of Addon #1? Well I hope that it will be for Xmas... BUT no date and no promises. WM

Guys, The first addon pack for OFF will be quite extensive and will include: 1) Nieuport N28 2) Nieuport N24 (Brit and French versions) 3) Nieuport N24 Bis (Brit and French Versions) 4) Nieuport N17 Bis 5) Fokker EV 6) Airco DH5 7) Extra squads and amended squads to take the above craft into account for full campaign immersion for all craft - American squads are a key point! 8) Comprehensive skin set for the above craft for full immersion in the campaigns 9) Personalised skin functionality - player can now fly with his own unique custom skin. 10) Actual Wind Buffeting effect as you fly - gets worse with the weather conditions (configurable as off or on in workshops) 11) Wind noise in every craft - speed dependent - increases with speed 12) Revised Railyards - all are now co-incident with railway tracks and with switchbacks and revised textures 13) Overhauled hi res airfield textures and revised airfield tree models 14) Revised forest and woods layouts 15) Revised autogen tree models (only when set to high terrain detail) 16) Improved mobile ground unit deployment in theater 17) Manager main menu picture now changes according to players pilot nationality. And many minor tweaks. Best WM

Shredward will need to confirm but as I understand it the squadron changed to a 'Fighter unit' when they received Pups......so you will see this change from Bomber role to Fighter role as you scroll through the squad by date. We will decide on a course of action for the upcoming addon and P4 on this..... as for those lone wolf missions you eventually will receive the 'alternate' pup craft but that has not been implemented asof yet in OFF. HTH WM
  8. Hello One of the features of the up and coming expansion is the introduction of better wind noise as well as buffeting of the craft relevant to the wind/weather... This will be retrofitted to all existing craft. So maybe hang in there! HTH WM

  11. It all about time to gain height and what that means for the player.... I will look at making the bandwidths higher but again even with higher bandwidths there will still be an oportunity that you will be bounced - its the nature of the war. But I will not change the way the flight gains height because already its painful enough as it is - do you understand what it would mean to make all waypoints at the max flight altitude? - you do realise your flight has to gain height to go over from take-off (irrespective of the new air start feature which bascally cuts out the first stages of the mission)? One of the things I have always seen in these forums is folks wanting to stay alive longer in a war that really did not allow it....... Guys yes it sucks being bounced and yes it did happen. All I can say is lead the flight and fly at the altitude you prefer. HTH WM
  12. Goto workshops and increase your flight altitude... The penalty is a longer time to make alt before going over... HTH WM

  15. Yes I am looking at bumping some of the regulars in A-Flight to B-Flight.... There are no Aces in B flight due to the CFS3 skins limitation of the Player Flight - but this will change in the future! WM

  17. Well that does 'sound wrong' so send me the mission where in this happens and I will take a look but no promises. Hasse Wind unfortunately at the moment they have to be a different flight to have the Ace skins showing individually - but we are making progress on this and have already gotten to the stage where the player can have a unique skin in his flight. But yes I too wish it was all one flight alas not possible now but should be in P4. HTH WM

Hello, Its possible that they decide on a more opportune target as their targetting criteria was improved because before G patch they were not attacking targets correctly they would mull around a lot. Now they decide on the target that is most threatening in the target area and go for that - it might even be other aircraft in teh area which will always take priority over a ground target. You should follow A- flight they are the leaders - and yes if you 'warp' you may arrive at your target and they have arrived at their chosen alternative target (possibly aircraft in region) - there is probably not much to be done about this as we prefer them to 'think' - it adds depth and variability to the game. So as before best to follow them! However I will look to make sure that the missions are being generated properly (again) and if you have such a mission wherein you are really 'losing' them as in they 'vanish into thin air' then please send me the mission and I will look.   19. Just a word of caution here - the flip side could be true as well - that Avira has let Dropper through onto your PCs over time and only now has it in the database.... Again this is then an end user PC infection and not caused by OFF. I hope it goes well - try another AV. HTH WM
  20. Yes Avira seems to be bringing up a false positive - read Eriks post on what to do with a false positive (yes it happens). Also try another AV - there are many good free ones available now. If you look at the list of AVs in Pols post - those are the AVs that we have run on OFF and none detect any issues and many are very good and well reputed AVs - yes they are all up to date. Dropper TR is a circa 2007 virus and not new so why Avira suddenly detects OFF manager as a trojan after you updated it is strange - interesting to read that until you updated Avira it was happy with 1.32g. Note that Homeboy had OFF manager 1.32e declared by the same AV Avira as a trojan. I suspect this happened with the same Avira version as what you updated to, and this is more support that Avira's latest version is seemingly now detecting OFF as a false positive with its latest database update. Hi Guys, We take this sort of thing quite seriously and all Dev PCs are fully protected and whats more we all use different AVs so we hope to spread the risk by not being tied into one AV system. My PC is reported clean and is scanned every day. I will keep an eye on this thread - its possible the exe became infected on the end user PC but I am not discounting anything. If anyone feels like running an AV test on OFF please do so and post back the results. Thanks WM OBD Software
  22. Hello, You will be able to have a unique player craft skin in an upcoming add-on pack for P3 to realise a personal paint scheme. This will be then be a feature applicable to all existing craft in OFF as well as the new craft that will be in the pack! Details of content, price, and date of release yet to be announced. HTH WM
  23. Trees do change through the seasons except for the evergreens... To see the full range of trees , terrain and snow cover variations fly via the Quick Combat menu button on the main menu page. Top Right you will see Season Override, and Season Type Override. You can set these overrides to see all the differing seasonal effects HTH WM
  24. Hi again! Please note that the top Rank has to be same as OFF default i.e has to remain Hauptmann....this applies to all nations the existing Top Rank MUST remain as is. You can change all lower Ranks and add in extra Ranks BUT TOP RANK (last Rank in list) must be IDENTICAL to OFF default.... HTH WM
  25. I hardcoded that... but remember P4 will see revised Ranks Medals the whole lot will be overhauled. Have fun WM
