  1. OT Just occasionally....

THAT is HEE-larious!!! I just about fell out of my chair laughing when I read: "...and you know it cannot have been a good night when you get into a fight with Spiderman and two cross-dressing men,..." Knee-slap, drop-dead funny! Thanks for that WM!
  2. Howdy Nod! You really should drop by more often... Nurse Gladys has been inconsolable! Hope all is well with you and yours.
  3. Now why is that?

"You keep using that word... I do no think it means what you think it means..."
  4. Almost blasphemous, that!... but a beauty, none the less.
  5. Only a doubt

I've had mixed results with this. On most flights I land and end the mission, but sometimes I follow the lead and land last. When I land last, I would say a good half the time they don't all land... some crash. Say I am fifth in a flight of five, one or two of the others will crash and burn while the rest make perfect landings. Also, I have often returned home to find the other flight that took off with us, on a different mission, are back with their engines running, but at a full stop.
  6. I'm glad I didn't have one of those as a kid... I wouldv'e tried to take off from the roof of my four story apartment building...
  7. Small but beautiful things

I love the billboard advertisements on the sides of some buildings. Simply amazing! In previous phases, when you strafed soldiers and missed, they would sometimes hold up a sign that said "Ha Ha!... You missed!" Has anyone seen this yet in phase 3?
  8. Best book?

I think it was Gimpyguy that linked to these on the old forum. I am currently in the middle of the Rickenbacker memoir... great stuff. That site has a lot of other great stuff too.
  9. Visible crew

The [ and ] zoom your entire image, i.e. they change your FOV. You can also move your eyepoint through a certain range in cockpit without affecting your view of the outside. This comes in handy for those like me without TrackIR. I mapped the keystrokes to the hats on my stick and can now look over the cowling or over the side etc. Move Back=Ctrl + Enter Move Forward=Ctrl + Backspace Move Up=Shift + Enter Move Down=Shift + Backspace Move Left=Ctrl + Shift + Backspace Move Right Ctrl + SHift + Enter Recenter=Ctrl + Shift + Space
  10. OT Amusing Windows errors

    Here's one I've encountered I thought was HEE-larious
  11. A Revelation...........

I, too am awed by what they did. They seem, through the lens of history, almost like superheroes; doing the unimaginable, on a regular basis, for what they felt were honorable intentions. When I think about, where I always wind up being most humbled, is to remember that these were very young men! Wasn't MvR only twenty five or twenty six when he died, weren't they all just out of their teens? When I think about what I was doing when I was nineteen, I am ashamed.
  12. The couple of times I have had this happen to me was when I was trying to claim more than I shot down. As an experiment (honest, I wasn't trying to cheat :whistling: ), I have input three when I know for a fact it was only one or two. When I put in the actual number, or fewer, it is accepted as a claim. I do not mean to imply that you are trying to cheat, just that perhaps it's in the numbers...? Maybe credit is being given to a squaddie for one of yours...?
  13. Would it be possible?

I'm with Siggi... many's the time I sat agape, staring at my burning or plummeting crate, considering what I did to get into this mess. Absorbing lessons always seems easier if the consequences are right in front of me. The OFF manager is rather indifferent for these purposes.
  14. Custom cockpit view

@ Creaghorn; I don't have a TrackIR so I mapped the eyepoint movements to my joystick hats. This way, I can look around the cockpit, over the side, etc without changing the zoom view. I prefer to zoom out one notch then move my eyepoint forward a little. HTH @ Gous: The player/target view can be toggled so your plane is front and center, and the view follows the target in the distance. This way, you only see pretty much what you would see from your plane. I think it is Ctrl+Shift+F4 to toggle it.
