  1. Yes thanks for posting first impressions guys. I am interested and curious. I will not purchase RoF for quite some time. For a lot of reasons. The main reason being my contentment with BH&H. I am not happy though to hear of the trouble being experienced. Rather I hope that any issues are ironed out asap. As far as fanboys go, well I'm one, I can understand excitement. OFF: BH&H is right for me. I have shared my impressions of OFF: BH&H and posted update/info at the Aerodrome many times and there are many more RoF posts there. What I want to say is that there have been no flame wars nor nay saying from any of the RoF enthusiasts to my posts. We share a lot in common and are really one small group. It is IMHO best to be supportive, at least in spirit.
  2. Thanks for the pointers and info Siggi. I will move on to a different set when I can.
  3. Funny your nik isn't Tripe, CJ. And I can imagine the avatar. With a shoe on it.
  4. Long post but a fun read Duce. Thanks. What a flight sim. All the unscripted action you could have hoped for. And being pursued like that and the sadness of returning alone. I hope you get those confirmed or at least survive to find out.
  5. It's a war, not the fourth of July after all.
  6. Winston that's encouraging, thank you! Phantom this is a link to the website that might help us http://www.warrenernst.com/thrustmaster
  7. The cheap bastid, myself, got a set of Thrustmaster Rudder Control System pedals for next to nothing, of course. I was wondering if anybody uses or has used this set? Do I have any hope of using them running Vista? I'll have to use a USB adaptor. Do you think I'll need software? I haven't tried them yet. It seems to be very well made, mostly metal. Self centering. Wide placement for feet. May not work. Sometimes cheap gets you nowhere. Any help? Thanks, Jim I found a website that is giving me some hope. Evidently this was a good rudder control in it's day.
  8. I say fight! What fun you must have had.
  9. Thanks for posting the pics Sanbagger. That's exciting! The best keeps getting better.
  10. Weathering can be over done IMHO. Each crate was fresh and new at some point besides the care and upkeep that the pilot may have required or pride his crew took in it's appearance.
  11. Maybe it's a Salamander, huh? Nah, you should know. If not don't admit it.
  12. Maybe there was a shortage of machine guns. The Yanks took delivery of their N28's without guns and I think this was about the same time. I know I'm wrong but I can live with that , haha.
  13. What a trip! Fond memories. To think how far things have come. Good memories. I enjoyed Wings on AMIGA a great deal too.
  14. Launchbury, May I welcome you amongst our ranks? I must say with your swagger you will fit right in among the old hands. Red Baron and Wings of Glory are a common factor among most of us. I sense you will be duly impressed with the efforts of the OFF dev. team and soon will enjoying a new career in the RFC. Cheers!

I'm very proud to say I never watched that turd of a show Jon And Kate. Charm School has all the reality I can handle. Hahaha
  16. Best wishes Olham. And it may be a fun excerise as well.
  17. Some how it seems my family have not been engaged in combat. My father sufferred polio when 18 and was a farmer. I do remember my uncle Bill flying off to Germany in the early 60's for U.S. Army service. I was at the airport for his departure and I was impressed by the large transport that he was on. I was 4 or 5 at the time.
  18. In the "what do you want added" polls I always vote for Zeps and large bombers. They do impress me with a different fear, dread or excitement. The Hell's Angels Zep scenes are great indeed.
  19. I love it! Someone that can dish it out as well as he takes it. So there you Krauts! haha
  20. Something tells me Herr Olham will get to the bottom of this matter. Cheers to him.
  21. I wonder my friend if in discovering the info in this thread you now feel even closer to the events in our wonderful sim? I would wonder if you have a relative that was a pilot or mechanic or soldier in the trenches during the Great War. You are not so far removed from the history. Even I have made minor attempts to look for my family names in Squadron rosters and so forth. My people came from Britain and Germany, the midwest and east coast of U.S.. So far no luck but I am kind of excited for you to maybe identify even more with interest and love of BH&H. I know I would.
  22. I remember reading about that crash... how awesome. Too cool!
  23. I would have to imagine the sight of these monsters would be terrifying in those days and even now the impression would be great if not fear inducing. A very nice vid this is. One thing I like about all the OFF BH&H vids is that for me they don't present any perplexities of what is going on or am I seeing an actually good representation of the sim. Possibly because I've played it. Some vids of other sims can leave me wondering what's going on sometimes. Thanks to all OFF BH&H vid producers, keep up the good work.
  24. Fantastic good man. Best wishes and prayers to wife and child and may you be blessed with a special wisdom to guide her. There can be no doubt of your love and pride. Is the name pronounced like Sheila? Best wishes, Jim
