BH&H is historic and there is enough fact in my mind to allow for the D.VIII to fly and be flown. I vote yes. Let's honor the work involved and enjoy ourselves. Thanks to Dan-San Abbott for his kind and learned reponse to Herr Olham.

It's unfotunate when vids are posted to show-off some aspect or another of a game but then have some funky settings going on that do not show the game at it's best. Something like this "hey, check out the lighting effects in this awesome vid". You look at it and see a german plane shooting at a german plane with no evasion. Firing 2000 rounds of steady ammo..... you get my point I'm sure. And so many vids, it does get a little mixed up. Playing the game is the best thing and I look forward to regular Joes flying and reporting.

Methinks that Widsy doth haveth a rather clear shot at his SNIPE! And pray what is this E.V. going to go up against? Can't see what you want to see sometimes I quess. so it may be pretty but there's a hint of weak wing in there just to even things up until the Snipe arrives ;)

Ah, Wings Of Glory... I busted 2 joysticks playing this one. I just loved it and had people watching the action over my shoulder from time to time. The variety of planes was great and the Zep gave me buckfever.

This game was the reason I bought my Xbox. Looks great. I do believe that some of the guys from the OFF development team worked on this game.

If your mind is made up that's that but, OFF P1 was free as was OFF P2, as such works in progress. OFF BH&H is vastly improved over the earlier free phases. If ROF is a no go for you and you want a dynamic campaign all I can say is that from what I see in the forum and from my own long time WWI flightsim experience OFF BH&H excells at being immersive and even causes many of us to break a sweat and take time outs because of the intensity that it can offer. As it so often happens, sometime after initial release, there is a price drop. The base cost of OFF BH&H is currently $29.99 As for online MP I finally gave it a shot just recently and had a hell of a good time flying with these guys that I've gotten to know on the forum. I'm not trying to change your mind nor am I dissing another sim. Just wanted to share the price drop info and point out the opportunity. Thanks for reading this.

I agree with your observation about crashes thus far. And I am not too impressed by the AI in single player that I've seen. Non evasive flying and evidently only 1 E/A in the air as the pursuing pilot was not checking his 6 or looking around. Fixated on the turkey shoot. I don't want to judge ROF by the vids but then again people make the vids available and they are glowing about how wonderful it is. So I look and see a beautiful looking sim but then I see other things too. I can't help what I see or think I see. The proof is in the actual flying/playing the sim. For me I don't think that will be soon as I don't think my best computer is up to the task of running the game. To anyone that gets ROF I hope it runs well for you and is what you've been hoping for.

Very interesting stuff Olham. If they were flying the Zeps today maybe you and I could find work handling the lines. For start and landing of a "Zeppelin", many hands where needed. The tail end was held by 25 men, port and starbord side both needed 25 men again; the remaining cables and ropes got handled by 45 more men. It needed almost 200 men to start and land a Luftschiff safely. Hage had about 660 groundcrew men; also, there where 30 fighter aircraft with pilots for defense of the base. Would beat what I'm doing now.

My first sorta sim was Wings for the Amiga. Prior to that I had Blue Max for Commodore. I can't call that one a sim tho. Enjoyed Wings a lot. I even have copy for Nintendo Advance. Damm small screen... Currently in heaven with OFF:BH&H.

I don't know the background of the serpent but I do get the impression that it is of medieval origin. It makes a fantastic skin, looks great Rabu!

My only regret is that I missed P1 and got into P2 about one month prior to BH&H release. I understand what you mean Siggi.

P4 will be released before I feel I am finished with BH&H.

I don't for a nano second regret paying full retail for OFF. My income is rediculously low at present. I only hope that the reduction in price means more users. I feel especially good about the OFF scenario overall because of the recent hints and references to additional aircraft and even a P4.
