  1. Congratulations on your feat, Creaghorn. I hope the HBP didn't bother you too much. Then again, you are a catcher, so you have to be tough! Catcher is probably the most important, and least appreciated, position in all of baseball. Just yesterday, a guy in a major league baseball game had five walks. Almost everytime I go to a game, I see something I haven't seen before. One time, although this was on TV, I saw the pitcher get the ball that had been hit back to him stuck in his mit. Rather than allow the base hit, he threw both glove and ball to the first baseman. The umpire ruled it an out! Another time, an outfielder named Jose Canseco failed to catch the ball and it hit off the top of his head and over the fence for a homerun! In a minor league game, an outfielder was so intent on catching a long fly ball that he crashed right through the outfield fence! You never know what you might see in a baseball game.
  2. As C. Montgomery Rothschilde Schicklegruber Burns might say, "Excellent!" Stary, check out Creaghorn for his excellent tracer and effects mod that eliminates the baseball sized tracers.
  3. Good going, Lewie. I know I could never build one on my own.
  4. You can look, but you can't touch them in BHaH. You can drive the car and the bicycle, but not the tanks.
  5. Sad news, indeed. My condolences to his family and all fans of early aviation who will miss his vast store of knowledge. OTOH, he can now ask first hand how these crates really flew! Have a good flight, Dan.
  6. The few rounds in the wings causing a loss of maneuverablitiy is mainly a DM problem I believe, Dej. Without letting the cat out of the bag, I may have something in the works that will improve this a little--I hope!
  7. Congratulations that all your hard work paid off! My condolences for your mother-in-law. I too, make a pledge to support MP. Although Sunday's are a little difficult for me at times, I think I can swing it! I still have the equipment--mic, earphones, etc.
  8. Sand, instead of rich topsoil, is again the result of man's meddling with the river. If left to its own, the river would naturally re-enrich the farmland that extends along the flatlands for miles and miles on each side of it. Of course, that would mean that only farms and farmers could live in those areas--no cities, suburbs, or apartments. Yeah, like that's gonna happen!
  9. Since this is a flight sim forum, my simple reply would be I would like to go back to December 17, 1903 to Kittyhawk, N.C. for the first flight of the Wright Brothers--and for them to fix this darn bicycle of mine!
  10. Modders at your service!
  11. Good to hear that you are high and dry, Bullethead. Ironic that the Mississippi is flooding while most of Louisiana is in the midst of a drought. Even though you are safe from flooding--and murderers--be sure to be careful fishing out those idiots who choose to stay in the basin areas and get flooded out over their eyeballs. Interesting stuff about Ole Man River. The Mississippi is the most engineered river in the world, I have heard--and not always the best engineered! Maybe more bad than good, actually. I vaguely recall reading years ago in The National Geographic Magazine about the Mississippi wanting to bo back to its ancient riverbed. Hell, once it does go back, it will then be itching to return again to the current route. Only it will take it another 25,000 years or so to do so.
  12. Dear Bullethead, I hope that you are okay and live on relatively high ground. Is your house threatened by the opening of the Morgansa spillway? My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care and let us know how you are doing. For those of you who do not live in the USA, the Mississippi River is having major flooding. To relieve some of the pressure on the river, the Army Corp of Engineers is opening a dam that will allow a surge of water almost 15 feet in some places to cover much of the bayou of Louisiana. Here is a link to an article about a small town that may literally be wiped off the map by the flooding: http://www.cnn.com/2...x.html?hpt=Sbin HPW
  13. Lewie, I for one hope that you do not stop making suggestions. I like what I see of your work and don't see why with a little smoothing and perhaps upping the polygon count your models might not be acceptable in OFF. I have had several conversations with Pol, particularly about the DM, and he has always been very polite and encouraging. He and Winder can be a little prickly at times regarding their "baby," especially the aircraft models and the FM, but it's sorta hard to blame them considering they were working on P1 back when everyone was saying that WWI sims were dead and no one had any interest in them anymore. I myself lost contact with the status of all things WWI for about 4 or 5 years, so it must have seemed pretty lonely for them at the time. You might consider developing a few single-player models for QC as a sort of a trial run or apprenticeship for OFF. Although I know nothing about GMax, I would be more than happy to help you with the FM and DM if you'd like. Perhaps if we do a good enough job, the guys at OFF might give us a shot at including your work in P4 or maybe P5.
  14. Lewie, what models have you "built?"
  15. I've worked on toning down the DII a little bit in my tinkering with the Albs FM so it shouldn't be such a monster--but still very effective! At the same time, I'm working on making the DV and the DIII series in particular, a little better than they are currently--particulary speed wise. Unless someone can point me to an authoritative source, I don't think the DII was particularly celebrated as a revolutionary powerhouse, whereas the DIII's were almost universally praised--well, with the exception of that niggling little wing problem!
  16. Welcome back to the unfriendly skies, Slarty!
  17. Based on the high level of interest about flying by map without the assistance of the TAC, I have a feeling the devs are paying particular attention to the landscape and terrain in P5, including better trees, towns, roads, and even rivers, so it should be even easier to navigate by maps and ground reckoning than it is currently. If so, I think it will bring a whole new level of fun to the game for most of us "diehards," without making it too difficult for the more casual player.
  18. "I'm here for an argument." "No you're not." "Yes, I am!" "No, you're not!" .....
  19. You are more than welcome. Let me know how much of a difference you notice with the mod.
  20. Sorry to have missed these replies--I guess I haven't been scrolling down far enough. Are you talking about the main guns mod or the rear guns mod? The main guns mod makes changes to all of the settings, while the rear guns mod changes only the "Less Accurate" setting because few, if any, people use the other settings. Although the OFF folder names for "Hard, Normal, and Easy" are confusing, the names and files are correct. In this case, "Hard" applies to the difficulty the AI reargunner has in shooting at YOU. I toned this down a little in the mod so the AI reargunner is a little more inaccurate. The rear guns mod does NOT change the settings for human reargunners. Hope that clears things up. Let me know how you like the mods.
  21. Is it just me, or are things getting sorta steamy around here? At least the rigs are cool!
  22. 'appy birdday, Mike! Hick, hicccup! :drunks:
  23. Congrats, Olham. Let us know how the new rig "flies."
