  1. Just beware on some skins.... On the Bristol F2b for example the RH exhaust cutout is duplicated from lower down on the RH Fuselage, its not taken straight on.... THe same with the upper side of the lower wing. if you try to make the aileron shaded it ends up showing as a double line...
  2. Is this only on an early campaign? THe early campaigns may have no jastas opposite the lines that are flying due to lack of aircraft... Before that was fixed they would automatically fly the next available a/c. I remember fighting Albatros's in early 1916 with a bristol scout.

  5. I'll have to look into that this afternoon rob, Thanks for the heads up!
  6. Thanks guys! I use paint.net as my main graphics program. See my thread on it for more info. When I switched jobs last fall our IT guy at my new job had found it and its anawesome program!
  7. Just started really tapping into this game's potential! My first screen shots were terrible due to a poor graphics card. new graphics card changed that in a hurry! Here's a skin I was working on...

Skin for the bristol F2.b Fighter. This is a historically accurate skin of Serial number C4879 which was photographed at No.33 TDS Witney apparently after the armistice.

  10. Yes you can use paint to skin.... not the idiot windows utility but paint.net! You can download this freeware graphics program at the website paint.net Though it is not up to photoshop standards it is powerful enough in its own right and I have found it to be a wonderful little program!!! you can open dds without conversion and work on them and save them right back, very useful for skinning.
  11. Tell me what you think, this is my first attempt at skinning for OFF. I have uploaded it into the skins for download. I have always liked this scheme since I saw it a couple years ago and decided to try skinning it. This is Bristol F2b C4879 which was photographed at TDS Witney.
  12. After spending several evenings doing a skin.... and with another couple evenings in store to finish it, My hat is off to the OFF team!! they had to do 3200 of them!! Great job guys!!
  13. I guess its time to learn how to skin!! And I already know what I want to skin!!
  14. plywood.... hmmm.... maybe, nah too bulky around the desk... LOL :D
  15. I'm not seeing damage... I see wings shred off and a stream of debris after a good hit, but no holes in the wings and the like like I have seen on some screenshots... Do I not have the right settings or is that only on better graphics cards? I'm running an XFX geforce 9800 with the graphics cranked. Or does someone have their birds skinned with bullet holes?
  16. All the aerodorme map names are found in the ingame map. Jut put your cursor over them to find out the name. THe allied aerodromes are all mapped and I just started mapping out the german aerodromes today and am about a 1/3 done. Hopefully by tomorrow evening everything should be done. and to second rabu's point, please check these out and see if they are accurate. THis is the time to make changes when I still have all my papers and coordiantes hanging around. I've found one or 2 innaccuracies, some cause by the game, some caused by us.... I'm going to do a big fly around tomorrow on the allied side and check and make sure everything looks ok. One thing I noticed that is pretty major: Ypres is too far west in the game. considering it has 5 airfields clustered around it, please make note of that if you are using it for a navigation point. Thanks to Dirk for his help. (he prolly knows the german side of the lines better than anyone now...) Thanks to rabu for making this possible and doing yet still more work on his maps!
  17. I too get dropped when hitting m, now that I'm aware of it, I only noticed it on scramble missions. I'll have to try on a diferent mission.
  18. so that means no more getting atacked by albatri in a bristol in January 1916? Awesome!
  19. I am currently in the process of mapping the aerodromes on the flanders maps. If someonewants to volunteer to help me in finding coordinates, it would be much appreciated...
  20. I would also like to see a airco DH5, as well as a snipe and dolphin. In that order...
  21. Thats a shame about transferring... I was wondering what happened when your squadron switched a/c. i'll have to make sure I fly squadrons that are complete from beginning to end. As far as the kill board is concerned, I see your point, but you would have an idea of what the other squadrons kills were and the like... as well as intel from the enemy. As far as real life goes, I'm not going to install a refrigeration plant by my desk... you can only take realism so far...
  22. Awesome sim, well worth the wait! After playing it for 5 straight hours into the wee hours of the morning.... (8 downed, none confirmed in a DiD/W campaign) I have a couple questions... mostly holdovers and features that I grew used to and liked in RB3D. I would like to be able to request tranfers, or is there a feature that I haven't found yet? Is there a kill board for everyone so i can see my standing as compared to the other aces friendly or otherwise? Is there any way I can look and see the intelligence info for the surrounding squads? After going gungho in the first couple missions and finding myself on the ground after all the engagements, I must say that I am having to take a very different approach to this sim as opposed to any other, especially when it comes to 2 seaters. We'll see how long my pilot lasts...
  23. Yes, it finally arrived.... Why, oh why did I agree to play hockey tonight? I anticipate a very sleepy day at work tommorow....
  24. Please give a report... I can't really drive 10 hours there and back in the middle of the work week....
  25. I loaded cfs3 thinking it couldn't be as bad as everyone made it out to be, and realized that they were more than right. I seem to remember cfs1 having better graphics and being funner... I'll keep reading threads though....
