NOT New WOFF Preview Movie but how about the music...
Olham replied to Dej's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Although I guess we are both stretched to the breaking point about WOFF and Matt's score, I would prefer to hear the music only with the first starting of "Wings Over Flanders Fields". Call me old-fashioned or sentimental - it just belongs together IMHO like good film music with the film. Of course I don't mind when they give a "pre-listening" of the score - I'll just keep my ears closed and wait for the finished sim. -
The second flyer must have been Hans Imelmann from Jasta 2. The more famous "Pour-le-Mérite" owner Max Immelmann had already fallen by then. They often get confused. Nevertheless it surely was a thriller. I guess that was a great encounter - one of those special moments in OFF, when immersion is even topped again. Hans Imelmann at THE AERODROME: http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/germany/imelmann.php ...and Max Immelmann: http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/germany/immelmann.php

Found this 1913 slideshow about the airfield Johannisthal (later: Berlin Adlershof), the first real airfield southeast of Berlin. It looks like a model for the film "The Magnificent Men & their Flying Machines". Each "slide" has a description in German, English and French - those were the days, when the aviators from all over the world exchanged their experiences here - only one year before the beginning of "The Great War". Must have been a fascinating time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Msh1yFSzc_o

How long have to wait the pack of OFF arrives in EU?
Olham replied to Ulfur's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It took about 14 days for me to get to Berlin, Germany. -
RoF online can be very exciting, as you fly against real human pilots. I often enjoy it with friends. The way it works easily and fluidly is just great to have IMHO. But when it comes to real immersion - to immerse yourself into a WW1 air war sim like in a book as "No Parachute!" - then OFF is by far unbeaten. I don't find it too hard to be waiting for WOFF, simply because the way OBD do their work gave me absolute trust: they only work so much longer on it, to give us a so much more improved experience. I find that the adjective "immersive" is like the "Pour-le-Mérite" for single campaign flying - and this order is definitely owned by "Over Flanders Fields". Edit/PS: Oh, and yes: Matt's score is an important part of it - the perfect soundtrack

Dimus, if you would like to fly OFF online - did you ever check "Madmatt's Multiplayer Essentials"? I haven't tried it myself, but from Matt wrote in posts back then, it seemed to help with multiplayer problems and make things a lot easier. Yep - and many more things, afaik. Perhaps Elephant will respond here - I think he installed and used it. I never did so far, but it looekd tempting.

Here is a very well-made video which elephant brought to my attention. They used IL-2 and the Dark Blue World mod. Enjoy!

Shuttleworth uncovered 2013
Olham replied to Tonyo - legion's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Wonderful photos, Tonyo! The Camel as a fragile, masterly piece of art! Didn't know that the Bristol Bullet was still flyable - thank you for sharing! -
Not me - but it looks less good to me than OFF; not to speak of WOFF, which should be looking even so much better. I'm not one who tries out everything though - I am rather careful about what I install.

WINGS Over Flanders Fields - Development Progress
Olham replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Read the post before yours - site owner Erik changed it. As for the light: if there is a window behind you, you could use a window shade? Maybe it's not the light, but how the TrackIR is set up. It should best be 50 - 60 cm away from your head clip, with a free "view" to it, whatever movements you make during flight. Don't know Wildenrath, but thank you for the compliments on Germany, Jim. -

Hey, Jim, nice to see you again! So you were in the RAF - perhaps you need to send a PM to Dave or Erik? However - you received one! -
Hi, all new pilots, and welcome over Flanders fields! some of you may not find their name/location in my "OFF Forum Pilots Maps" yet - if you'd like to be in there, please send me a PM with your town and country/state. Thank you!

Do you mean you will be flying in a Lancaster bomber? Man, that would be quite something. But I guess you meant the Stearman? Still - you may have access to the bomber with him - maybe you can even get inside and man the battle stations! We hope to see some pics, Tony, and I wish you that you can call off the one or the other date - this chance is so rare!

WINGS Over Flanders Fields - Development Progress
Olham replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
A pity I don't drink anymore - this would call for a bottle of Chamgagne! Edit: Cripes, I've received a mighty big medal for my bigmouthdom! I had expected a warning for flooding the forum with 15.000andsomething posts... Mmuahahahahaaa!!! Thank you, CA! -
Did you select the right cockpit view in OFF? Toggle through your cockpit views with F3 and see if any of them responds.

Cheers, mate! Yeah, well, they must be Scotch - they even save promising me a drink. Mmuahahahaaa!!! The new AI in WOFF is said to be much improved again. It can decide about attack chances. And it can be unaware, and give you a chance to sneak up on it. Yo, we Albatros love that trick - we fly our sleak bird around the opponent and blind him emotionally with the sheer beauty of our craft. Happens often that they just forget to fly. It shows, that the British and French have good taste! Wait until you come to 1918 (if you should ever make it so long)! ... Mmuahahahahaaa!!!!
-
Welcome over Flanders fields, devere! New guy buys the drinks, remember... Now to your question: yes, HitR and especially the patches that followed and belong to it, improved the AI on many aspects. The "Lemming-behaviour" was mostly eliminated. But of course, badly damaged kites which have fought their way spiralling down with their foes, may still end in the trees, or crawl along low. The overall AI behaviour was much improved - they became much more lethal in their actions. You also have three choices for AI in "Workshop": - a more lurking, more passive AI that will only make attacks when they see a good chance - an aggressive AI - or a mix of both; OBD call it "historical". Here they are more careful in the earlier war; and more aggressive in the later period. The sim will blend both for you IMHO the AI had grown up after HitR and patches - it is much harder now to even survive half a year with the "aggressive AI". Are you ready for that? There was something else... - ah, the drinks! I'll have a virtual "Andechs Spezial Hell", please!
-
Hey, Hauksbee! It will, as Pol assured us once. Maybe he is always flying in the same bad period, when testing. Look through ALL the new shots, and you will see clear, bright blue skies.

In case you mostly read and write only here: here is the link to the latest screenshots Pol posted over at SimHQ. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3827899/Re_WOFF_NEW_DEV_SCREENSHOTS#Post3827899
