  1. That was Zoomzoom's log - see post 4 here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=41324 But well, here we get 4 or 5 of them, before we get the "Blue Max". Don't ask me about metal - arhm, medals - they look good in the log, though.
  2. The Order of the Red Eagle was introduced by Prince Georg Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Bayreuth on November 17th, 1705. It's original name was "Ordre de la sincérité" (Order of Sincerity), and it was inspired by the English "Order of the Garter", the prince had seen on a visit. At times, it used to be the second-highest Prussian Order. Perhaps Shredward can tell us more about it's use in WW1; I'd like to know, what makes you get one. (Certainly NOT fighting like Olham - I never had it yet; Lol!) [The picture of the Order is from "The Aerodrome" website - a site highly recommended to every- one who doesn't know it yet]
  3. First, I didn't want to look into this thread, cause I can't stand Bono Vox. But now I see, I don't seem to be the only one here. It's not that I dislike the songs completely - if only this bloke wouldn't sing them.
  4. Calm down and read Post 4, Hasse Wind - these guys seem to know, what they are doing. I feel we're in good hands.
  5. Hi, Creaghorn and Siggi Something went wrong with that pilot in Jasta 7 - my screen resolution quite often gets messed up (changes setting) and then I can't go to field, but must go out again and to workshop, to put it right. So, when I went in again, I clicked "Fly mission again!" I downed 5 Camels in two missions, but the Log said: Flying hours: 0 So, I erased him and restarted. This time he will be in "Siggi's DiD/Creaghorn mode", so as soon as he survived two missions, I'll post him to you, Siggi. But I don't think, he will last - my fighting temper is just mad; I would take on "Apaches".
  6. Hi, Daniel Much success with this pilot! Your letter actually inspired me, to make a new pilot in that Jasta (as I had never flown there yet). He even got a new pilot photo. His service begins on 21st March, 1918. He flies a D Va. That will be tough - against the S.E.s and Camels!
  7. this is not the Pfalz pilot I was discussing earlier, he actually was killed in a head-on collision with a camel over Douai. Probably the only way to down a Camel in a Pfalz (Lol!) I rather did not like the Dr1 at first, but after getting used to it for about a month, (my gunnery suffering most due to its extreme twitchiness) I finally developed a light enough touch on the stick to become a real killer with it. Yes, she's a little witch, that follows immediately to your stick moves - even when your hands are only trembling. But in that crate, I fear nothing except my own foolishness.
  8. Go for him, Widow! The devs say, you can't kill him - but you can let him eat some mud! And if you enjoy it, you can do that again and again! (Perhaps some screenies would be nice!) But careful, old chap! The D VII is a real Killer Pig (which fits that pilot perfectly). Don't try it in any other craft but a Camel or an S.E.5 (Camel preferably). And perhaps you do some QC on the D VII, to see how dangerous she will be. All the luck and angels you need for that, old boy!
  9. Great video examples, WomenFly2! Now I know, that I often used sideslips for landing, without knowing they had a name. Lol!
  10. It seems, that bombing cities is always more a psychological effect than that it would irritate enemy's production much. The victims are mostly civilians. And in all cases, it did not have the desired effect, that the people would rise against their own governements. Not even after Dresden - and that raid really destroyed a whole city in a firestorm. If those generals and politicians would have known the English or German character better, they could have known that outcome, without dropping a single bomb.
  11. Jammer, it's: Der Albatros-Wolf schlägt wieder zu! Widow, that wasn't me. I swear, i never fly D VIIs. Perhaps you became a victim of Hermann "Müller" Göring. In that case, you have my full and best blessings for downing that 'Grossmaul'.
  12. Hey, that is an amazing carreer, Zoomzoom! I had never seen that "Red Eagle" order. His captivity is good for him - he will survive this hell. The other possible way is, to retire a pilot early enough. Only problem there is, when to stop. Each time you may say: just one more last flight. So this was the Pfalz-pilot, who wanted an Albatros for better? When did he enter service? 41 kills are very good. Can you still say, on which craft he made how many? I never made so many flying hours - I just can't act reasonable and defensive yet. You may be sad now, but he survived it, that's good. Tell us, where you enlist next.
  13. Now, let's have another with the Germans getting THEIR asses kicked!!! Did zatt ewer happen? Why vazz I not informt??!!! Jammer, vee vant you az our propaganda minister, good man! Great Video, Jammer, very good cutting! I saved it for me, and will send it to Widowmaker, when he gets nasty again. Lol!!
  14. Spooky, spooky! Did Gothas or other bomber, apart from Zeppelins, really appear over London in WW1?
  15. Absolutely ditto! Thank you, Eric!
  16. I would have expected, you'd bring your wip again.
  17. ...if I get out of it anything like IL2 has given me it will be well worth it. Even better, Tripe, even better! I liked IL2 (best in multiplayer co-op), but here, you are much closer to all the action; you are sitting in an OPEN cockpit, you can hear the enemies' engines and gunfire. I have come off any other sim, and don't play any games no more. This sim is my (spare time) life now! Oh, I forgot: Welcome! Or: Willkommen! - in case you fly on my side!
  18. Has everybody been looking in the other direction, CJ ? Lol! I just had one of these lovely scrambles. The Brit are surely world champions in understatement. So much, that it could be overstatement instead. I mean, to show me, that they regard me and my two wings as so dangerous, that they didn't only send several aces in one flight, and not only did they use Tripes - no, they even came ten chaps high! So, lets add together: 1. advantage of height, plus 2. flying Tripes, plus 3. outnumbered 10 to 3, plus 4. at least four aces!!! And NO! Of course I didn't survive it - don't know why I'm still speaking with you... Edit: hey, that picture wasn't there, when I started my reply. That must be you and your little boy on the air show today?! Wow, that must have been fun!
  19. Couldn't get in to the Forum all day and thought, now we were the next victim for web hooliganism. So, I'm glad to see, you're all here - safe and sound!
  20. If you have Photoshop, you can press "print", the go directly to PS, say "new document", then "insert".
  21. Tch! - Widow, how can I fight a serious war, when you do things like this? I can't aim properly, can't even hold the Albatros in level flight!! By the way - where does she live?
  22. Winder and the Devs have done an outstanding job making history come alive. I was so inspired by the simm as an historical document Shredward is, I think, the "historical department", who contributed all this. See also his thread "On this day in the Great War".
  23. Well, I like the Squadron/Jasta/Escadrille insignia details, and especially, that the aces' signs were all done so individually. If you ever browse through the skins folder (use for example the freeware "DXTBmp" - must google for it), you realise, how many individual skins these fellows painted. It's incredible!
