  1. Hey, Jammer, good links! I wonder, if we may use the OFF music for BHaH videos, we post in YouTube? YouTube is recently very strict about music in the vids. But if we would name the composer, and he or the team allow the use for this specific purpose? Perhaps someone from the team can clear this?
  2. Flirting shamelessly with our age here . Well, if the 40 - 60 beams are growing most, no wonder. That's were the money is! (or should be? Lol!!!)
  3. LOL, pity there's no real on line way to fly and find out. Well, there might be in future. When I finally have the money together to update my rig, I could join Multiplayer games. But I assume you're a very good fighter pilot, and so I'm not sure, if I want to be the fox for your hunt (Lol!) Must definitely improve my tactics. I can only tell you that in QC (which I don't think counts for much because the AI are much better in Campaigns) I fly head-to-head against AI aces and I've NEVER lost in an SE5a. Well, same for me, with my Albatros versions. But as you say - QC doesn't count. You know before, what type and how many you'll encounter, and that they will appear right now etc. I admire much more cold blooded campaign pilots (as I think you are), who care about the tactic rules, situational awareness, and advantage/disadvantage etc. And then even may break off and zoom back home, when it's useless. Personally (and very subjectively) I think the DVa is over-modeled. It shouldn't be able to dive as well as it does without snapping a lower wing. I have lost my lower wings now three or four times; and in a QC testflight earlier on today, it was close to another accident of that kind. I don't know, how easy or often that would have occured, and how realistic the model is. But I'm getting quite some disadvantage from the way it is. SPADs regularly dive away like hell. I can only keep cool, and say to myself: we'll meet again on the deck - for your slaughter! But, again, all we can do is fight the AI, which, one-on-one isn't much of a challenge. How do you mean? You know, you can choose more than one opponenet or wingmate, surely, in QC ? Edit/PS: SittingDuck regularly does Multiplayer session in the net. They even have a Jasta and a Squadron; you can enter one of them, and as far as I know, that works pretty good. Isn't there an MP announced right now? Think, I saw a thread. They'd surely welcome you!
  4. Enjoy that peace and learn to handle your crate well. The day will come, when you wish, you could get beamed back there. I just had a flight, there were 3 planes in a cubic space of 300 x 300 x 300 feet. I needed the situational awareness of a Chinese ping pong player. But I can't play ping pong...
  5. Honestly - I admire your style, Hasse Wind. Instead of giving up on a mediocre fighter plane, you take it and make the best of it. Flying after Dicta Boelke, being patient and careful, you may achieve more than the famous 17 hours, and slowly but surely, collect a great kill tally. I am the stupid opposite - the fool around here, if it comes to lasting longer. It seems, I can't have it any other way but take all enemies available on, have some really great fights, with 3 or more kills per sortie - but after 3 - 5 sorties: dead! But with Wolfram "Wolf" Mahlo, I'm doing better so far. He is the fiendishly, clever Wolfpack leader, who fights with more strategy. Last time we met Camels, my pack had them shredded to thousand tiny hand- tall pieces, before I couldreally join in. But I had ordered and controlled the whole action. It took less than two minutes, although it was 4 against 4, and the Camels had attacked from 3.000 feet higher! Were is your Jasta 10 stationed, by the way?
  6. Bump maps? (Disco beat on:) Dooo the bump, doobidooahh! Do the bump - doobidooo! Do you really mean bump maps - never heard of that? If you mean bmp (Bitmaps): yes, Photoshop deals well with them. Convert the dds skin file into a bmp file, and you can work in it. Later, reconvert it into dds. With DXTBmp for example - free download; must google it.
  7. Luiz, if you join an Escadrille, make sure, it is "offensive", not "defensive". You can find that in the choice menue. And, as Interlocutor said, some have more, and others less action. If you settle near Arras in 1916, you should "have fun" - on the other side are Bertincourt and Brayelles. Some of the finest German aces around there. And me, with my Albatros DII.
  8. Here's my latest work in progress. As the seabird Albatros is white, I always wanted to do this. But now I think, I should make it look even more like the seabird, and use the eagle for another plane? I could give her black ailerons and tail fins, and an orange-yellow nose; and use the eagle elsewere. Don't know yet, and will ramble on... I kept the plane very clean; no weathering here. A German officer, and also his ground crew, wouldn't leave much dirt or dripping oil on a plane like this, surely. It's like with cars here - a fetish almost for the Bosch; kept neat and clean like a baby. PS: don't know, if that's recognisable. The eagle is clutching a breaking SPAD XIII.
  9. Strange - I would have sworn, I posted to this before, but... nothing... Well, so again: the Nieuport in overall white looks superb, Red Dog! Now the full beauty of this plane shows perfectly. I always wanted to do a white Albatros (as the large seabird is white), and now I have done a first version to show (see post "White Albatros").
  10. Wow, Red Dog - hey, Good-lookin'! Just tested a new skin, and had a little tango with SPADs to add salt to the soup. This situation was right after an almost-crash. While I attacked the right fighter, the left SPAD zoomed through my sight inbetween us, large as a barn! Had I seen her coming, she would have got a lethal burst! But my reaction wasn't good enough - it was a nano-second, so to say. For more pics, see skinning thread.
  11. Tttiger: The DVII with the big engine is the only Hun fighter that gives me trouble in an SE5a. Well, you don't fly in the Somme bend region. You might meet a flight of four or five Albatros DVa, nightblue, with stars, a crescent, and a wolve's head painted on them. Whenever that pack comes across S.E.5a, they eat them (Lol!). Mostly though, we encounter SPAD XIII, or Nieuports. But seriously now: the S.E.5a, flown by a skilled ace with good wingmen, would get me to sweat in a D Va. Also in a Dr.1, as I could only turn about and hope, that on one of your zooms, I could plaster you. But against skilled D VII pilots, even aces would find it very hard to survive. She's a killer warthog.
  12. Fallout3 and East India Company? I thought or getting the first one, but really, I don't find time to even play more - the forum and flying the sim leave no more space for anything else. Maybe in a year or so - then they'll be cheaper anyway.
  13. Nowadays - no, ever before too - it is constant knocking, scratching, hammering on the right doors. Getting heard, whereever you can. And of course: chance - luck - the right contact in the right moment. Your music for BHaH will surely be noticed - you never know, if not the kid of some producer or director plays this sim. The son of a friend of mine, a music student, heard your score on a visit. He sat for quite some time in front of my monitor and speakers, and listened. He was asthonished, that an air combat sim, that didn't come out through a big major company, had such a fine score. He sieved me with questions, like: "Did they record with an orchestra?" I asked: "Does it sound like?" He: "Yes." Me: "I don't know, but when it sounds like that, listen to it like that." Then I left him alone, and he listened through it.
  14. Hrrmmh - okay, I forgive you, Hasse Wind; my bird coudn't hear you (Lol!). My first plane choice, back in Phase 2, was the Pfalz. I found her a very reliable, stable platform for two guns. She doesn't stall easily, and if it happens, catches up quick. She gave me a feel of reliability. With ~ 185 km/h, she is slower than the S.E.5a (~ 222 km/h) and the SPAD XIII (~ 218 km/H) though. Also, she is definitely no good turn fighter. I would like to hear, how you get on with her here in BHaH. What are your opponent planes? Which tactics do you use? Any tricks?
  15. Haha! Tttiger, I'm writing more here than I fly. It's the only forum I'm in - and I don't need no other. Were would I ever find SUCH A COMMUNITY - I deeply cherish this! But to be honest, after two or three 110% reality sorties (so, more than real - Lol!!), I really feel menthally exhausted. And that, although it can't even cost my REAL life. (Shows me good enough, how strained the nerves of these pilots must have been). Thanks, Rickity; and you sure are one of those, I wouldn't want to miss her.
  16. Hi, wsm The only way to get to the "old" QC, with the choices in the menue left side etc. is to go to "Workshop", there at the bottom "CFS3 QC" - and then you should get what you want. The other QC earlier on in the main page, is different.
  17. Did someone shoot at the photo, CJ? Or throw bottles at it? It really looks, as if it's been in the drawer of an old gold digger's hut in Windy City!
  18. And who cares for all ze crumpetz?! Is everybody havink fun around here?! Just doink, what you like, vissout any respontzability?! Himmelherrgottnochmal!!! Potzblitzzapperment!!!!
  19. Siggi, I must have missed something there...? Right, Rooster - were was my mind! She's definitely flying for the right side! So,I'll see, if I can get her back. Perhaps someone tells me - here or in a PM - what happened?
  20. Oh my Lord, and Mrs. Widowmaker - can you forgive me for this?! Sob!!
  21. We must assess, that Lieutenant Womenfly is missing since a whole week now. We hope to soon hear about her wereabouts. Sir Henry Lord of Droolswoolshire, Commander of Staff
  22. Yes, of course - I had this posted on the old forum already: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww1/f/415/59 On the left, you choose the plane you want. In the center, there is a field, showing, from which countries skins are shown, or from which countries the artists come. Click on a national symbol, and at the right, the planes will appear, listed in pages. Click on a page, and it will open and show small previews. If you click on the plane, it will come enlarged. Enjoy!
  23. Great job, Widow! Actually, I just searched the "Wings Palette" site, to proof, that there were no white roundels under red stars ever. I was wrong. There were. Hasse Wind - perhaps you can make Widowmaker finish his "Jaws" Pfalz D IIIa. That would be, what you needed! I've seen it! Ask him (push, push!)
  24. As I understood this, it must be well written and explained - thank you, Winder. You guys don't waste time!
  25. Hey, Camel - what happened to Snoopy? And who's that in your avatar - looks like the ghost of some Confederate Army Captain. Spooky!
