  1. Aaaah - a big pool of political debate! It's not allowed here, you guys know that? Hey, could you move a bit there - I wanna jump in too! You pointed out one of the weakest spots of democracies here, I suppose - if not THE weakest. This line did me good; from over the pond the American election campaigns often look VERY bizzare. But now I see: you may have the same impression your end. Widowmaker, my old friend - if it comforts you: things are going very badly down the drain here too. When I hear, how people from other countries - European or not - see Germany, then I often wonder, if the appearance of a whole nation could be fudged in such a manner? The big industries may still make big money, okay. But while the tax payers money seems to be getting spent by the billions for the saving of Europe, most of our local communities are more or less bankrupt or close to it. It all doesn't seem to make sense anymore. Or it does - but not common sense. .
  2. Hey, that's what I call an affordable good lifestyle, HD! Well done!
  3. Ah, okay, I never heard of that model kit; not even of the company. My largest kits were AIRFIX 1:24; and the HASEGAWA "Dora" was in 1:32. But my modelling days are long over, and I sold the remaining unbuilt stuff on Ebay. I guess we should finish our modelling talk here - after all it's still the "Screenshots" thread. Good luck with future builds, Andy!
  4. I could see the total by pressing Ctrl/Strg and "minus" keys. Wow, from above I see that such an U-Boot was actually a beautiful design. Elegant as a shark. Great model, Andy! And what do my old eyes trace in one corner - if that's not a Focke-Wulf 190 D type (D9 I guess). Is it the HASEGAWA one? I had that model kit, but never built it and sold it on Ebay. A pity really...
  5. Is that model open on one side, to show the interior? In that case I'd love to see a photo - I can never remember the order of the various segments.
  6. It's just that when OFF BHaH was ready and patched (way back in 2009), we had lots of similar posts in the old forum. In the end it always turned out the same - it was never an error or mistake in OFF, but always the users not following the correct install and patching order as noted clearly in the OFF website.
  7. Just stumbled across this website on my search about Battle of Britain airfields. The site is specialised on the Hawker Tempest, but still - have a look. I guess what I like about the Battle of Britain and the British achievements is the purity of this important victory. They defended their very homeland, with all their available energy, against an enemy about to conquer it. They knew it was all or nothing - and they gave all. It was extremely straining, and many good young men fell in these fights, but in the end they succeeded - for the sake of Old Blighty (which I couldn't imagine being under the dictatorship of that eager man with the Groucho-Marx-moustache). I can only take my hat off for them all. The airfields can be found under "In Action". http://www.hawkertem....se/Manston.htm And this is a touching video with interviews with pilots from both sides: http://www.youtube.c...v=B3nOS_pqC2o#! .
  8. Oh, well - it's worth it. There always have to be the Hobbits who would be different and daring enough to follow and accompany the Bearer of the Ring...
  9. Good reasons kept you off, Hobbit - a Harley Davidson, good weather, and an Elf on the backseat - who could ask for more? May I daresay, that you look much like a Hobbit - maybe from the Brandybock line?
  10. Well, you realise it now at hindsight, and you feel goose skin of awe later, but you feel it, don't you?
  11. I was on an old BoB airfield in the 80s - Henley or Kenley - near London. There were still earth bunkers and shrapnell shelters for WW2 fighters there. I had seen "Battle of Britain" in the early seventies, and it was very touching to see a place from where these tireless boys made one sortie after another, until they could hardly keep their eyes open anymore. Their finest hours!
  12. They could spend it on the restauration of at least one of the Battle of Britain airfields like Manston or Biggin Hill or Hornchurch (not sure which of them still exist), and the still existing aircraft of that time. And they could spend it in a way, that gives many people a job with these restaurations. Just my 2 cent.
  13. Jim, you beat me by 20 minutes - I was just going to search for your Fokker Dr.1 profile over at "The Aerodrome", and post it here. But well, for all who didn't know this link - "The Aerodrome" is one of the best places to go to when you are interested in WW1 aircraft, combat and pilots. Here is the link to their galleries - click on an artist's name to get to his department: http://www.theaerodr...eimages.php?c=2 James Dietz, Jerry Boucher, Dave 'Blowhard' Douglass
  14. ...until they'd point directly at their noses - short before a "Rack-ack-ack-ack-ack!" Mmuahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!
  15. Ah, let them talk. Many a bigmouth returned from a dogfight and had to change his pants...
  16. Naw, I was only joking, Hauksbee. I always advocat, that everyone should use the huge variety that OFF offers, as he pleases. Some fly mostly QuickCombat, others Campaigns; some fly "Full DiD Realism" and others use a selection of aides. I myself used most of the aids for a long time. And I still ponder with myself about switching the TAC back on again - simply because it allows the switching through the waypoints, and thereby the shortening of the "Warp" home.
  17. These are closer: http://livingsmall.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/tiny-house-tuesday-frodo-lives/
  18. Hauksbee, I never use this since a long time, and so I can only try to remember it. Target selection in OFF: - you must have the TAC activated - you switch to the mode for "aircraft" (for example - I think by pressing "T" repeatedly) - When E/A appear you press the key you use for marking a target, and a red dot should appear on TAC The targetting cone should now point to this E/A. The cone - as far as I remember - only appears, when an E/A is within a certain range - not sure though. All commands are accessable in "Controls". You get there by hitting "Escape" in a mission; then click "Controls" in the appearing menue. Hope this will help you, my friend.
  19. Yeah, okay, "Graphics Config" then. Click on "File". There you choose "Custom Settings" (ignore the warning). Then in the upper left corner go on "Window"; then you should see the "Overrides". It's in there. Targetting cone.. Tch! Fifteen minuter!!! Sissy!! Huh!!!
