I was bored the other evening and decided to watch Aces High for the first time in years.. Anyway for those that have seen it, in the mess they sing avation related versions of popular songs of the era which is just the same tune with flying lyrics They include "My Bonnie lies over the ocean" "keep the Home Fires Burning" (Chorus) And some others.. Does anyone know what these songs are I cant find them.. Do they even exist outside the film?

Ok so I decided to try the stick one last time and it was still a no go.. I have basic skill in electronics so i decided to open her up to see if i can do a "paste and glue special" to tie me over as i had nothing to loose and was shocked at what I saw.. It is all glued and masking taped togther on the inside... Could it be that it was not an official Saitek stick? Even though Win7 recognised it as such. It also came with a Chinese/Japanese? power supply when I brought it (from a UK supplier) and I had to email Saitek and they sent me out a UK power supply free. The "twist rudder" never worked properly either but I did not care as I have CH Pedals for that.. Surly this cant be official work? I have chosen my new stick after payday Logitech Extreme 3D Pro

I brought it... Had a quick go at the demo a few weeks ago.. Thought it was OK but did not want to pay £20+ for it £4.50 with the Luftwaffe expansion was a steal too cheap to resist..

I personaly dont bother with partitions.. with how cheap mechanical hard drives are now, I buy two. One standard size for windows and aplication software the other large size for games. I would love to get a SSD drive when they come down a bit more..

I like dual screening for desktop use. I can watch videos and browse at the same time ect.. I still game only on the primary monitor though..

Well I managed to fix this.. Just was just messing about with my display settings.. As my secondary monitor is up and right from my main i used the nvidia positioning tool to set it that way for functionality so i have to move stuff diagionaly to it (so it fely more natural) Just ran OFF and everything came on the main display... Which was nice,,,

I could always try flying with my Saitek Yoke and quadrents Though flying my trusty SE5a 747 style will feel weird... very weird Failing that there is always my 360 controller for tempoary measures... hmmmm

YAY im not the only one with bad PC luck at the moment... It is not nice when a HDD goes to silicone heaven.. I'm just preying mine hold out till I can warrent a Solid Stare HDD they are starting to come down in price now.

Yup tried all that both are definatly kaput.. I guess I can justify to my self the trackir 5 and x52 now :P Used to own an X52 first edition in my IL-2 days was a damn good stick

I have the worst luck ever at the moment I decide I want to play combat sims again this week and find my Trackir4 Pro no loner works... Great... So i struggled on again very poorly.. I cant fly combat sims anymore without a Trackir. No idea how we used to manage in the old days.. its like only being able to move your head in 45degree incriments. I seriously cant dogfigfht well at all now. I used to be able to survive 2 v 1 disadvantage on ace setting but now I get mullered as I cant watch what both aircraft are doing at once.. And tonight I knock my joystick off the desk by accident and crack.. no more stick.. Does anyone know how I can justify a new Stick and track IR to my C/O (girlfriend )

Hey all along time no see.. Just re install OFF after a long breal from combat sims and am having a very weird issue with my monitors The splash screen comes up on the main monitor then the intro plays on the 2nd as well as the main menu but cropped so workshops tab is missing because I have configured for 1080p res for my main screen then when you fly the gamne plays on the main screen again.. Anyone know why this is happening?

Good times I remember once as a german ace had 100 kills and i was wounded and damadged and had to land behind the lines at a british airbase.. Then somthing happaend that shocked me.. I had a message saying i had died from my wounds and as a mark of great respect i was awarded the VC posthumously.. I only ever saw this once

I do remember the days fondly.. I also found RB3D disturbing the first time playing attacking a two seater. I put a few rounds into her and she caught fire.. Then I remember clearly the crew jumping out the burning plane screaming as they fell. Considering its age I must say them screenies do look good.

I would love to learn some of these tactics. I can hold my own against ace AI in OFF but even that is no match for a rookie human who would be heavily un predictible.. I think it would be fun for us to meet up on ROF

Hmm I never did buy that RB3d from GOG in the end.. I had 2nd thoughts. I have many fond memories of wasteing my highschool days playing that. At the time the graphics were jaw dropping. I think its best to let it lie as a happy memory. I get my memories ruined too much playing some games on emulators from the SNES, Megadrive and Amiga days I started playing games I remembered to be amazing.. After 5-10 mins the nostalgia wears off then i think why the frak did i play this its crap.. When playing OFF it feels 100% like RB3D anyway and more.. With OFF's deep campaign and selection of aircraft along with ROF's damadge models and eyecandy. Dont think I would ever play RB3D again..
