  1. Off topic: So you aren't feeling any motion sickness? That's good news for at least one friend of mine.
  2. Wow. Thanks UK, for sharing.
  3. I'll be damned.... Great news creaghorn. Next time I come to Germany you'll by me a German beer. «
  4. Wow. No stuttering, no white triangles. Great video, Lou.
  5. Please, make it also available for download.
  6. I use HDTach and HD Tune for benchmarking. That burst speed and random access (maybe the most important) kills me. I'll have to wait at least one more year before moving, but I'm imagining those two beasts in ARMA II.
  7. Thanks Tamper, but bad news. So not only I won't be satisfied with a single SSD, but I will have to have a pair. And the bad news didn't stop here. I really need to have another raid controller. By the way what is the brand and the model of your controller?
  8. Welcome. You'll have to loose a all day to read all the posts. Lucky guy, no pinky airplanes this time.
  9. Great support almccoyjr. I'm really proud to belong to this community.
  10. Interesting. I too would like to know.
  11. Eheheheh. BirDog were you thinking in Van Morrison?
  12. It's not complete accurate, Lou. CFS3, as any legacy application, wants more clock speed (Ghz) than several cores. But if for example you've single core that runs @ 3.0Ghz and you've multicore system that runs @ 2.4Ghz, there might be a chance that it will run better with the single core. But if the clock speed of the multicore is equal or even bigger, then it's almost sure that the multicore system will win. And I'm not counting with Intel Turbo Boost or other technologies that might help the multicore systems. However your mileage will still may vary. A lot of factors contribute to this. Operative system, background applications, system tuning, are only some. What you suggest, Lou, it might work with some.
  13. D3DOverrider belongs to RivaTuner. Only it won't work with your ATI's graphic card. Probably there's a workaround. However you don't have to bother with that if you just only want D3DOverrrider (it'll run independently from RivaTuner). When installing RivaTuner it will also install D3dOverrider.
  14. Glad to hear about it. So what was it? Bad installation?
  15. I don't think that's possible Creaghorn.
  16. I hate to assemble. Long goes the time that I felt the same level of excitement you have now. I don't do it anymore in a regular basis. Even with my own rig I hate to change anything inside. The only thing I like is to play video games and use it for helping me with my hobbies.
  17. I'll just take hellshade template. TrackIR 4 Pro w/clip. Software 5.0b CPU: i5 750 Quad Core OC to 3.2Ghz RAM : 4GB G.Skill PC1600 (XMS Video: ATI 4890 w/1GB RAM DDR5 19"CRT SAMSUNG 997DF HD: 2x1TB Western Digital 7200 RPM drive SATA-2 + 500 GB WD 7200 SATA2 PS 700 Watt LC-POWER Modular OS: Windows 7 x64 edition / XP Pro x86 OFF BH&H, HitR patched to 1.47 After upgrading rig I still have tears. In my upgrade I didn't change my graphic card. I only play with TIR on. It happens more when I turn my head quickly.
  18. Not really directed to you Tamper. If it was just directly to you I'd have stated your name. I was referring to the general tone that the thread seemed to turn out between OFFer mates. I'll PM you. This is going to be off topic any way. EDIT: By the way I still would like to year your opinion about the performance difference between a solo and a RAID array.
  19. Thanks almccoyjr. Last time I used this kind of programs was a couple of years ago. But this one seems to be really interesting. I'll take a look for sure.
  20. If you don't mind I to would like you to download and install Belarc Advisor. It's a simple audit tool that will tell us what's the software you've installed in your PC. The report will be generated in html, if you send it to me and almccoyjr (best to have two or more thinking heads) I'd appreciate. I too find it hard that you can't run cfs3. Belarc Advisor Nice tool, that one, almccoyjr. Never heard.
  21. Well, you can always say that farmville facebook will play better with this system. Besides you can always give her the thought that this also means that you'll be distracted from other... temptations. A man must have his hobbies. Otherwise it will be like a lamb without a flock.
  22. I cannot, unfortunately, comment on this topic. I've never tried out a SSD, still too expensive. What I hear, what I read, with different games, in other forums, is that most people think it's beneficial and reduce a lot of stuttering. But I too have to confess, that I am a bit skeptical, about the SSD hype. Besides I don't see OFF accessing much the HD during the game. However I don't have any reason to doubt Tamper and Morris. So I'll have to accept their conclusions and hope for the day the price will fall. Now I ask what about a single SSD. What kind of performance can we expect? What I don't understand is the aggressiveness that was displayed in this thread. Surely people can have different opinions. I speaking for myself, like to hear what other fellows have to say about technical matters. I've been working in the field for more than 20 years and I've already learn a few things here, with people like Parky, Tamper, BirDogICT, almccoyjr, etc. I'm really very thankful to you gentleman.
