I have always landed the plane myself, never following the waypoints (even on land runways). I've never liked the game's airliner-like approach.

This is the Spitfire PR Mk. XI by ndicki. As you can see no guns and no tail wheel.

There is a recce version already in the downloads section of SF2 with the guns removed. The only issue would be the retractable tail wheel. The mesh names for the guns on the Mk. IXc are as follows: 20mm_L & R, cannon_bump_L & R and cap_L & R.

Well, I tried to add some smoke and oil stains. I originally added scratches but overdid it so I'll be trying again over the weekend.

Finaly done! I still need to add some weathering (a technique I really need to work on!).

Ok now all markings (except for individual ac #'s and codes) are painted on the bitmaps and highlighted most panel lines and rivets. These are repaints of the textures released back in february, plus some new ones.
